The Porto captain celebrated his 33rd birthday by lifting the Europa League trophy. Made a crucial contribution when he saved with his legs to thwart Mossoro in the opening moments of the second half.
Looked to be in on goal in the 39th minute but foul was given against Falcao. Coped well with Paulo Cesar and also tried to get forward to support Hulk. Lucky not to be sent off in the 72nd minute for a second bookable offence.
Impressed with his aggressive style at the heart of the defence as he repelled anything that came near the Porto box. However, he also proved he had more strings to his bow by attempting to play the ball out from the back.
Demonstrated an aptitude for reading the game that allowed him to cruise around the back line mopping up Braga's attacks. Was a pillar of strength in the second half as their opponents upped their game.
The Uruguayan kept Alan quiet in a solid outing at left-back. Also found time to get forward on occasions in the second half and was inches away from heading home a Hulk cross in the 72nd minute.
Classy operator who coupled drive with quality on the right of the midfield three. Provided the visionary cross from which Falcao scored the winning goal.
Put his weight about as he anchored the midfield. Dropped deep to receive the ball from the defence to instigate attacking moves.
A quiet game for the former Sporting man in which he rarely over-exerted himself but was tidy and intelligent in what he did.
The Brazilian international started on the right wing but had a licence to roam and hurt Braga wherever he could. A radiant presence who looked likely to make something happen. His set pieces weren't the best, however, and required a bit of practice it would seem.
Always a willing runner on the left of the Porto frontline, but never got much change out of Miguel Garcia.
Won his side the Europa League with a fantastic header. Had been relatively ineffective prior to his goal, but in the fashion of all great goalscorers, popped up with the winner at the crucial moment to make a hugely significant contribution.
Had a quiet match for the most part. Could do little to save Falcao's header but got lucky when his clearance was charged down by the Colombian and the referee blew for a foul.
A couple of early lapses, one of which let Hulk in on goal, almost proved costly. He tried to get forward after the break but was found wanting time and again as he sliced crosses out of play and failed to control the ball.
The Braga right-back contained Varela. A 33rd minute slide tackle to rob the Porto wide-man of the ball while in full flight was particularly impressive.
Like his central defensive partner, had a solid first half for the most part until the goal when he let Falcao drift behind him to score. Continued to impress after the break and almost picked out Meyong Ze with a fantastic raking pass, but the Cameroonian was offside.
Had an impressive 44 minutes until he gifted Guarin possession, sparking a counter attack that resulted in Porto's goal. Was replaced by Kaka at half-time after the costly error.
Passed up a chance to give his side a fourth minute lead when he sliced wide from 15 yards. Tried to break forward to support the attack and was one of his side's more influential players.
Booked for a two-footed lunge on Hulk in the 24th minute and substituted at the interval after a totally ineffective first period where he had one ambitious long-range free-kick which didn't even reach the Porto goal.
Played a pivotal role at the heart of the Braga midfield. A real steady influence who continually foiled Porto by stepping in to nip attacks in the bud. Could have been more precise in some of his passing.
The distinctively long-haired right winger was more noticeable for his haircut than anything he did during the game as he struggled to make an impact, although he was slightly more involved after the break.
Worked hard and ran his socks off for the Braga cause. He rather crucially lacked quality in his final ball, which ensured several threatening Braga moves ended in disappointment.
Worked hard up front and was neat and tidy on the ball when he received it, which wasn't often enough for Braga. Withdrawn in the 66th minute to be replaced by Meyong Ze.
- 42 Cristiano
The second of Braga's half-time substitutions. Proved to be a competent replacement at the back.
- 25 Leandro Salino
Came on at half-time and almost made an instant impact when he raced through on goal less than 60 seconds after coming on. His finish was weak, however, and easily saved by Helton. But the nippy midfielder buzzed around and helped spark his side into life in the second half.
- 10 Hélder Barbosa
Scuffed an excellent 76th minute chance, leaving Helton with an easy save.
