Lamah sent off for Osauna! Second bookable offence and it looked like he was mouthing off against the referee! Like manager like player!
Ronaldo drives down the left and sets up Coentrao with a glorious opportunity inside the box but the substitute completely messes up his shot on goal and slices the ball wide!
The match just winding down slightly now. To be fair to the Osasuna faithful they have got right behind their team from the opening minute and continue to create a vibrant atmosphere in the stadium.
Varane is introduced to the action now in replace of goalscorer Karim Benzema. It looks like the substitute will slot in in a defensive midfield role to help Madrid see out the game.
Madrid imposing themselves on possession now and making Osasuna work to regain the ball. We will now see the return of Angel Di Maria from injury, who replaces Mesut Ozil.

First change of the match from Real Madrid as Gonzalo Higuain is replaced by Fabio Coentrao.
In the end Madrid's class has shone through. Their devastating attacking prowess has undone Osasuna after the hosts probed to grab more goals.
GOOOOOAAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRID!!! Simple goal. Ronaldo easily skips past Roversio and clips a cross into the six yard box for Higuain, who headers into the corner.
Marcelo stand a cross to the back post and the ball finds its way to Ozil. The German then sets Arbeloa up with the ball on the edge of the box but the defenders cross come shot goes wayward of the goal.
Osasuna were having a real go there but a cruel stroke have of will likely be the sucker punch in this match. You would expect Madrid to go on to comfortable victory now.

Curious substitution from Osasuna as the bright Cejudo is replaced by Roland Lamah.
Nino appeals to the referee after running into Arbeloa, expecting a free kick. However, the official waves play on and Real Madrid have a goal kick.
Loose pass from Nekounam in the centre and Benzema latches on to the ball before launching a counter attack down the left-hand side with Marcelo but the Brazilian's pass through to Ronaldo is overhit and Andres Fernandez clears.
Cejudo clips a cross to the back post for Lekic who looks poised for a header on goal but Raul Albiol rises high to header the ball to safety. The Madrid man making his first league start since October this evening.

Osasuna still in the ascendancy but the tempo is taken out of the match slightly after Lekic goes through Marcelo will a late challenge on the wing. Madrid can get a breather now.
Nekounam picks up a loose ball in midfield and drives a powerful low shot to the bottom right corner but Casillas manages to stretch and parry the ball out for a corner kick! Terrific ten minutes for the hosts!
Higuain finds himself through on goal and takes the ball around the goalkeeper but Ronaldo gets in the Argentine's way! The ball eventually goes out of play with no shot on goal! Shambolic behaviour by the Madrid pair there!
Terrific start to the second half from Osasuna! Perhaps we do actually have a match on our hands here!
GOOOOOOOAAAAAL FOR OSASUNA!!! Roversio finds himself in an advanced position down the right and floats a deep cross to the far post and Nino is there to bullet the ball home with a header!

We are back underway! It will take a momentous effort from Osasuna to come back from this three goal deficit against Jose Mourinho's side but we are still in for an intriguing half.
Half time. Real Madrid are looking incredibly comfortable at the moment after goals from Benzema, Ronaldo and Higuain send Los Blancos into the break with a 3-0 lead over Osasuna. Join us in 15 minutes for the next forty-five minutes!
Another free kick in a good position for Osasuna after Sergio Ramos fouls Raul Garcia. Punal whips it in but Real Madrid clear easily.

GOOOOOOOAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRID!!! Ozil slips a nice pass through the middle for Higuain and the Argentine times his run perfectly to run through on goal and delicately chip the ball over the goalkeeper! Madrid are running riot!
That is Ronaldo's first goal at Estadio Reyno de Navarra, and what a way to grab your first strike. A wonder goal from the Portuguese.
The ball is whipped across the face of the Osasuna six yard line and it falls to Ozil at the back post. The German then powers a shot at goal but it disappointingly hits the side-netting.
A succession of Real Madrid corners at the moment but Osasuna have remained solid for the time being. They will do well to reach half time at 1-0 the way Madrid are probing for a second goal at the moment.
Both sides are struggling to put together some decent attacking moves at the moment. Perhaps the surface is indeed having a detrimental affect on the game. What do we think?

The match just entering a scrappy stage at the moment. All the play is being fought down the left-hand side, but both teams are failing to keep hold of possession for a meaningful amount of time.
Osasuna with a good opportunity to get a decent delivery into the box with a free kick from the right. Cejudo whips a cross into the middle of the penalty area but Casillas commands his area well and punches the ball to safety.

Sergio Ramos received a booking after going in late on an aerial tackle. The Madrid defender will now miss the match against out-of-form Valencia. Still a big match to miss for the Spaniard!
Osasuna have acquitted themselves fairly well so far, but they have just been outdone by a wonder goal from Karim Benzema. They are fighting for every ball in midfield and look a match for Madrid at the moment.

Nino steals possession from Marcelo on the wing and then cuts inside before attempting a shot into the far corner from a very tight angle. The ball ends up going out for a throw-in but still better from the home side.
Jose Luis Mendilibar has been sent to the stands after eleven minutes. The Osasuna coach will not be in the dugout for the remainder of the match. It appears he was mouthing off to the referee!
Osasuna enjoying a small period of possession at the moment after Real Madrid come storming out of the traps. Jose Mourinho's side have started the match with a terrific attitude.
WHAT A GOAL FROM KARIM BENZEMA!!!! Real Madrid go one nil up over Osasuna! Ronaldo clips a cross to the back post and the Frenchman rifles an unstoppable volley into the top left corner! Truly amazing strike!
The pitch does not appear to be in the best of conditions this evening. Quite a topical issue at the moment considering the furore after the Barcelona vs AC Milan encounter midweek. We will see home both side's cope with the dry pitch tonight.
Early yellow card for Osasuna after Sergio brings down Cristiano Ronaldo on the left wing. He will need to keep his discipline for the rest of the match. No easy feat considering the attacking talent of Madrid!
