FULL TIME - Newcastle 0-0 West Ham: The draw is probably the fairest of results, though either side could have potentially taken all three points. Gouffran will have nightmares over that missed chance in stoppage time but both coaches may be happy with a point. My name is Tom Webber and it has been a pleasure to guide you through this game. Have a great afternoon.
90' + 3'
The final whistle goes.
90' + 2'
OFF THE POST!! Sammy Ameobi floats a speculative cross towards the far side and with Jaaskelainen stranded, the ball comes back off the post. Gouffran is standing three yards out from goal but is unable to adjust and put the rebound into the back of the net. That was the chance to win it.
90' + 1'
We are into the first minute of an additional three.
IT IS IN... BUT MAIGA'S OFFSIDE! O'Brien's cross is only cleared to Morrison on the edge of the area and his attempt to find the net is finished off by Maiga from six yards. The Mali international, though, was offside when the former Manchester United youngster hit the ball.
It must be frustrating if you are one of Ben Arfa's team-mates at times. The Frenchman has acres of space 30 yards from goal but rather than look for a pass he again goes for goal. His weak shot is blocked by Collins and would not have tested the keeper anyway.
SO CLOSE!! Jarvis does superbly on the left to whip a cross in and it eventually falls to Cole on the edge of the box. He looks to bend a shot into the top corner but he fails to guide it inside the post. Big miss from the former Chelsea and Liverpool man.
Yet again Ameobi's touch lets him down on the edge of the box and the ball gets away from him. As he tries to chase it down he commits a clumsy challenge by needlessly bringing down Reid.
THAT WAS A GREAT CHANCE! Newcastle break well down the left and find Gouffran in space. He comes inside and tries to shoot but his effort is blocked by Collins. He had plenty of time there and could have waited for some more support.
BRILLIANT TACKLE!! Ben Arfa tries to trick his past way by O'Brien down the Newcastle right but the defender stands him up and puts in a brilliant sliding challenge as he enters the box.
Ameobi sportingly puts the ball out of play after a collision with Reid, much to the dismay of the fans who wanted a counterattack. It looks to have been a clash of heads between the pair.
Gouffran has looked lively since entering the game and it is his cross from the left that almost finds Ameobi in the box. The striker, though, is adjudged to have committed a doul as he looked to challenge for the ball.
Ben Arfa has vanished this half. The Frenchman has not been anywhere near as threatening or creative as he was in the first half. He tries to start something for his team here but Collins does well to stop Sissoko from advancning into the area after receiving his pass.
Newcastle are starting to pile on the pressure now and West Ham are coming under attack after every time they clear it. It is going to be a tight end to this game.
The game has descended into a bit of a scrappy affair now. Both teams are eager to push the ball forward but in doing so are conceding possession quickly. A little more patience to work an opening is required here.
The Magpies have lost their previous three home Premier League games.West Ham, meanwhile, have failed to win in 13 of their last 14 away matches in the league. Read into that what you will, but both sides could certainly nick this one.
Pardew counters with a change of his own, replacing Marveaux with Sammy Ameobi. The Frenchman has put in a good shift today.
Downing is the man to make way and he is visibly disappointed. He has created more than Jarvis so is right to feel a bit aggrieved at the decision.
Joe Cole is stripped and ready to come on for the visitors. Allardyce signalling his intent to try and get all three points here. Unless he takes of Maiga of course!
We have a slight break in play here as a collision between Reid and Cisse leaves both players needing treatment.
HOW HAS HE MISSED! Nolan finds space between Coloccini and Yanga-Mbiwa but cannot find the target with a free header from eight yards out. You would really expect him to score from there.
Newcastle have failed to score in five of their last seven matches in the Premier League. Their finishing today suggests this could be their sixth!
That is lucky for Krul! The keeper comes to claim Downings cross but is unable to hold it under challenge from Maiga. Fortunately for him, there are now claret shirts waiting in the box for a simple finish and he can gather at the second attempt.
The tempo to the game is starting to rise and now the hosts are looking dangerous. Santo picks up the ball on the left and drives forward. He ducks inside and attempts to curl a shot into the far corner but fails to hit the target.
Almost! Ben Arfa does well to switch the play from right to left, finding Marveaux on the far side. The midfielder looks to play a one-two with Ameobi but he slips as he goes for the return pass in the area. That could have been a very pretty goal.
A defensive mix up between Collins and Jaaskelainen almost gifts Cisse with an opportunity to break the deadlock. Fortunately for the visitors, though, the keeper manages to swipe his leg at the ball and clear it into touch.
The Hammers are now trying to slow down the play a bit and keep hold of the ball in the Newcastle half. They are showing good patience but movement seems to be rather restricted and so Noble ends up sending a pass straight out of play.
GOOD STOP! Downing manages to find some space in the channel and has the pace to outrun Coloccini and enter the area. He shoots at goal but only looks for the near post, which Krul has covered and gets both hands to the ball.
Good play early on from Newcastle as Ameobi wins a corner out on the left. The ball is swung in and Coloccini beats Collins to it at the back post, but fails to direct his header on target.
Here we go, the second half is under way!
Welcome back! The players are back out on the pitch and the second half will commence shortly.
HALF TIME - Newcastle 0-0 West Ham: The visitors have had the better opportunities to break the deadlock but unfortunately for them the best ones fell to centre-back Reid. Pardew's men have still posed a threat, mainly through Sissoko and Ben Arfa, but the game remains goalless. Join me in 15 minutes for the second half.
45' + 1'
The half-time whistle goes!
45' + 1'
We are into the first and only minute of additional time. Newcastle have another opportunity from a set play but Ameobi heads wide from Marveaux's cross.
A nice delivery from Marveaux finds Coloccini in space at the back post. The Argentine sends the ball back into the danger area with a header but the referee, Phil Dowd, halts play for a foul inside the area from a Newcastle player.
Yellow Card Joey O'Brien
Good play from Ben Arfa again, this time skipping past Nolan 30 yards from goal and sending a left-footed effort towards goal. Once more, though, his aim lets him down and Jaaskelainen watches the ball sail over.
Newcastle manage to win the ball from another corner, which Ben Arfa won after a brilliant run, but yet again they do not hit the target. It is Sissoko who gets his head to it this time but his hopeful effort goes well wide.
GREAT CHANCE! Jarvis beats Debuchy for pace down the left and hangs a cross up at the back post. Downing is the man to meet it but there is no conviction in his header, which he puts straight back across goal and out for a goal kick.
Good defending from Reid! The centre-back does well to stop Ameobi from turning and shooting 20 yards from goal with a quality challenge on the edge of the box.
Good break from the Magpies as the try to catch West Ham out by attacking straight after their free kick. Cisse does well to bring the ball in from the left and find Anita, but Sissoko's effort from the midfielder's lay of was never going to worry Jaaskelainen.
GOOD HEADER!! Yanga-Mbiwa gets away from Reid at the near post to get his head to Marveaux's corner, but from such an acute angle it always going to be difficult to find the target, and the defender has no success.
WHAT A CHANCE!! Unfortunately for the Hammers it again falls to Reid, and he is unable to connect with Collins' long ball forward from a free kick in his own half. Krul can breathe a sigh of relief after that.
Newcastle have enjoyed no less than 59 per cent possession so far this afternoon. Despite that dominance of the ball, though, they are yet to really test Jaaskelainen and in fact West Ham have actually looked more threatening in the final third.
Poor delivery from Noble! The midfielder takes a free kick from wide on the left but he fails to beat the first man, Debuchy, who kicks the ball out for a throw.
Sissoko has been the driving force in Newcastle's midfield and he pushes them forward once more here. Ben Arfa drifts inside to try and get involved in the game but as he is closed down by three West Ham players he opts to shoot. He does not catch the ball well and his attempt rolls wide of the target.
Jaaskelainen's long ball from deep is flicked on at the edge of the box and Reid manages to find space between Yanga-Mbiwa and Coloccini just outside the six-yard box. He beats Krul to the ball but loops his effort well over the top. Had a more capable finisher been there it could have been a different story.
A good break from Newcastle sees Marveaux come inside and play the ball out to Ben Arfa, who has acres of space on the left. He takes a few touches to close in on goal before unleashing a rocket of a shot. However, he fails to keep it down and it completely misses the target.
Demel continues to push forward down the right and once more his delivery is a source of danger to the Newcastle defence. He picks out Jarvis at the back post, who in turn tries to cushion a header down to Nolan. The former Magpies player's touch lets him down, though, and in his haste to win the ball back he concedes a free kick.
The Hammers are well organised when without the ball this afternoon. Newcastle are finding it difficult to play through the middle and instead opt for a long ball from deep by Anita. He puts too much weight on the pass and West Ham are awarded a goal kick.
Downing gets onto a loose ball in his own half and looks to dribble at the Newcastle defence. Coloccini backs off but Sissoko tracks him all the way and puts in a strong challenge to dispossess him.
WIDE OF THE TARGET! Demel does well to push forward down the left and hold off the challenge of Marveaux. He then manages to dig out a cross for Maiga, who rises high in the area but is unable to divert his header on target. That was a great chance for the striker.
Noble manages to get on the ball for the first time this afternoon but his attempts to find Jarvis on the left ar scuppered as Debuchy reads the pass and intercepts. Little in the way of creativity in the final third from either side so far.
The resultant corner is headed clear but only as far as Sissoko. The midfielder swings a leg at the ball in an attempt at an ambitious volley. He does not pull it off and sends an awful effort high into the stands.
CLOSE TO AN OWN GOAL!! Anita wins the ball 35 yards from goal and looks to thread a pass up to Cisse. His aim is slightly off but in his attempts to play it back to his own keeper, Reid almost diverts the ball into the far bottom corner. That would have been seriously embarrassing!
That is poor from Diame! Sissoko sends a sloppy back pass into his own half and the West Ham midfielder latches onto it. He does not seem to have any ideas on how to beat Yanga-Mbiwa and is tackle easily by the centre-back.
Jarvis picks up a long ball in behind Debuchy and looks to cut inside of the France international. He manages to knock the ball past him but the referee's assistant has his flag raised for an offside decision.
WHAT A WASTE!! Ben Arfa is the man to take it and his effort is appalling, flying high over the bar with little chance of ever testing Jaaskelainen.
Powerful running from Sissoko as he tears through the West Ham midfield, bearing down on goal. Collins comes out to challenge him but he shifts the ball to the right and is brought down by the centre-back's clumsy challenge. A chance to shoot for goal frmo this free kick.
Not sure how he has managed to win that one! Demel flings a wild leg towards the ball but Cisse manages to get in the way. Rather than see it as a kick, the referee awards the defender a free kick...for some reason.
GOOD BLOCK!! The resultant corner rolls all the way through to Reid at the back post and the centre-back digs a shot out from under his feet. He tried to bend it inside the goalkeeper's near post but Anita gets a foot in the way and clears the danger.
Great work from Diame to win the ball in his own half and stride away from his opponent. He carries the ball forward before rolling it out to his left for Jarvis. The wide man races to the byeline but sees his cross deflected behind for a corner.
We are under way in Newcastle!
The Magpies will be hopeful of an improved result in front of their home fans today after suggering a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City last Monday. West Ham, meanwhile, will be keen to build on their victory over Cardiff. The players are making their way out onto the pitch so we are just a few moments away from kick off.
Sam Allardyce is unable to share his return to face Newcastle with Andy Carroll as the striker is still struggling with an ankle injury. Joe Cole begins on the bench this afternoon despite scoring in the win over Cardiff last weekend.
As you can see there is once more no Yohan Cabaye for Newcastle this afternoon. The Frenchman has been the subject of much speculation regarding his future in the north east and misses out again today. Davide Santon returns, though, and so Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa moves back to his more favoured centre-back position.
West Ham subs: Adrian, Tomkins, Rat, Diarra, Morrison, Cole, Vaz Te.
West Ham: Jaaskelainen; Demel, Collins, Reid, O’Brien; Noble, Diame; Jarvis, Nolan, Downing; Maiga.
Newcastle subs: Gouffran, Gosling, Bigirimana, Elliot, Sammy Ameobi, Vuckic, Dummett.
Newcastle: Krul; Debuchy, Coloccini, Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon; Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Anita, Marveaux; Shola Ameobi, Cisse.
Sam Allardyce returns to his former stomping ground with the Hammers, while his counterpart, and former West Ham coach, Alan Pardew, takes charge of the Magpies for the 100th time in the Premier League. Here come the line-ups...
