After merely surviving the relegation scare last season, Mumbai FC have had a poor start to the I-League with three loses in as many matches and conceding three goals in each of their outings.
To make matters worse for the Mumbai-based side, their defender Evans Quao was given the marching orders in their last match against Churchill Brothers which they lost 3-1 in Goa, while five others have also earned their names in the caution list.
|Mumbai FC will rely on striker Yusif Yakubu for goals
At the same time, Khalid Jamil will want his side to make the best of the opportunities created with a frontline of Yusif Yakubu and ND Opara.
Salgaocar FC are also yet to register their first three points after picking two points in their last two matches after they lost their opener against United Sikkim FC.
The club's assistant coach Peter Valles is in charge of the former champions after the resignation of Karim Bencherifa, while new manager David Booth will take over the reigns from the next matchday onward.
|Rooney could start
Valles' side weren't able to score a single goal in their last match against Pailan Arrows, although they managed to hit the most as many as four times, an area which the Goans would look to improve upon against Mumbai FC.
Australian striker Sean Rooney, who has had only one start with Salgaocar this season, could be given the nod ahead of Angel Guirado while captain Luciano Sobrosa marshals his side's back-line.
Mumbai FC: Defender Evans Quao, who picked a red card against Churchill Brothers in the last match, is likely to be replaced by Haroon Fakruddin Amiri. S Kuttymani won't be available due to injury.
Salgaocar FC: Rahul Kumar will miss the match due to injury, while Thounaugam Dinesh Singh is registered to add to the Goan side's bench strength that is weakened owing to injuries to players like Anthony D'Souza and Gilbert Oliveira.
