FT: Milan 4-1 Pescara: The Rossoneri make it four wins on the bounce in Serie A and will be delighted with this result. Pescara will feel somewhat aggrieved that their effort and commitment didn't reap the rewards they might have deserved but when you gift two own goals you can't expect much out of a match! Milan continue to show signs of improvement with 11 goals in a week and it looks like Allegri may finally have found the right ingredients to make the side meet the expectations of the supporters and the board. For Pescara it's another defeat and more worrying glances towards the foot of the table. Thanks for joining folks! Hope you enjoyed the coverage with me Craig Turnbull (@CTTurnbull) Join us again next time on Goal!
Two minutes to be added on here not long to go and Milan will do enough to see this out.
Pescara really should have made it 4-2. Celik finds a lovely ball inside the Milan defence, Jonathas is at the edge of the box looks to get the ball onto his right foot, but wanted far too much time and eventually is robbed of the ball, compounding what has been a disappointing performance for the substitute in this game.
Well Kevin-Prince Boateng needs encouragement to shoot but clearly Pescara hadn't heard, or maybe they had given the attacking midfielder's poor conversion rate. It doesn't improve on this attempt either as he lashes the ball from about 30-yards wide. But it's not troubling Perin.
Stephan El Shaarawy
Well Niang was nearly on the end of a telling ball, the 17-year-old made headlines by scoring in the 3-0 win over Reggina on Thursday, and he was nearly at it again as he raced in behind the Pescara defence but Perin smothered at his feet.
Assist Giampaolo Pazzini
Goal Stephan El Shaarawy
GOOOAALLL AND THAT'S GAME OVER! EL SHAARAWY MAKES IT 4-1. A lovely ball from Pazzini sets up the 20-year-old for the easiest of finishes for his 14th strike in Serie A this season. The score somewhat flatters the hosts but they won't care!
Own Goal Jonathas
GOOOAALLLL AND ANOTHER OWN GOAL 3-1 MILAN! El Shaarawy forces a corner and the ball is delivered in, Jonathas who, gave away a free-kick moments earlier, flicks the ball on at the near post which eludes Perin and finds the back of the net.
A free-kick for Milan in a very dangerous position is driven in by El Shaarawy, to be honest, it could have went anywhere. The Dolphins ride their luck and get it away.
Yellow Card Massimo Ambrosini
Ambrosini bizarrely loses the plot there, he dives in to get the ball which goes out of play. Then, he gets involved with Jonathas and pulls the substitute's hair. The Milan midfielder is cautioned.
Oooh another chance for Milan. Boateng does well to deliver an inviting cross to Pazzini, the striker tries to guide the ball into the far corner with his right foot but it drifts wide of the post.
Pescara attack once more. But the danger is cleared away as Celik can't quite the ball under his control on the far left of the pitch, he had players to aim for in the box but couldn't the ball across and Milan clear.
Oooooh good effort from El Shaarawy the youngster tries to extend the Rossoneri's lead with a curling shot just from outside the box. The youngster had cut in from the left, shaping to bend the ball with his right, past Perin but the goalkeeper does well to gather.
Pescara are the ones looking more likely to score here they've played superbly well in this second half after going two goals behind. Yepes again being forced to cut out another penetrating ball from the Dolphins attack.
Well the substitute Boateng is immediately involved and surges forward into the box beyond Modesto fires a ball across but it's cut out from Terlizzi.
Ooooh another great effort from Pescara and again Milan are not picking up the runners when balls come into the box. Bjarnason made his way into the box and fired a header towards the target but it went wide. Meanwhile, Robinho, who perhaps spiritually was in the dressing room as his performance didn't match that of the first half has been subbed.
OFF THE POST!! PESCARA NEARLY EQUALISE! Will Amelia inexplicably watches the ball smash off the post from a Balzano effort. That could have easily went in from the 25-yard drive from the full-back but it cannoned off the woodwork.
Goal Christian Terlizzi
GOAAALLL AND THIS MATCH IS NOT OVER YET! Terlizzi powers a head towards goal after the static Milan defence failed to match the defender's run from the free-kick.
Yellow Card Mario Yepes
Robinho attempts to end all hopes of the visitors with a fierce drive towards goal but Perin is well behind it and saves comfortably.
Own Goal Elvis Abbruscato
GOOALLLLL!! AND MILAN MAKE IT TWO! Well Robinho whipped in the corner and Abbruscatto known for his heading ability in front of Pescara finds his own net! The striker throw himself towards the ball and diverted past the despairing dive of Perin.
Yellow Card Togni
Well sometimes there is just no easy way to stop El Shaarawy sometimes you just have to take him down which is exactly what Pescara did there!
OOH WHAT A CHANCE FOR PESCARA! Well it wasn't quite the 34 seconds which Noverino clocked up to score the opener. But it's been a great response in the opening minutes from the Dolphins in this second half. Modesto delivered a great ball into the box from the left and Bjarnason rose unmarked and powered a header towards goal but the attempt was lacking direction and Amelia gathers.
We're just about to kick off for the second half and Pescara have made a substitution. Somewhat surprisingly Weiss is off and Mervin Celik is on.
HT Milan 1-0 Pescara Well what a start from Milan, who took the lead through Nocerino inside the first minute. They continued to dominate after that but couldn't turn the possession into goals despite peppering the Pescara goal. Weiss has been positive for the visitors but they haven't really offered anything going forward. What have you made by Milan's impressive opening 45 minutes? Get in touch (@CTTurnbull) and as usual the best comments will be posted.
Milan have yet another shot from distance this time from Montolivo, great play in the initial build-up to find the midfielder in space but his shot from about 30 yards goes over the bar.
Ambrosini doesn't quite have his radar on as he does well to win the ball in midfield on the left and surges forward, but his cross is too long for Robinho, who had made a darting run into the box.
Yellow Card Francesco Modesto
Modesto hacks down De Sciglio on the right-hand side and Milan are awarded a free-kick, Robinho whips the ball in, the ball is too long. Constant retrieves the cross on the other sides, fires it back in and offside is called despite claims for a Milan penalty.
Well that looked another promising opportunity for Milan! Four attackers against three defenders. Robinho showed a delightful skill to play in Pazzini the striker was bearing down on goal but his first touch lets him down.
@rossdunbar93 says: @CTTurnbull Vladimir Weiss is apparently attracting interest from Milan. He is certainly attracting the attention of the defence. Tantalising close control wins the visitors a corner and although it comes to nothing, the Slovenian is showing he can perhaps be the key to unliock this stubborn hosts' defence.
The Dolphins to their credit havn't given up the fight in this game. They are still trying to harry and press the opposition when they can just that little bit of class when going forward they are currently lacking.
Pescara's ball in the final third is just not good enough when they eventually do get a chance to come forward, Weiss and Modesto are playing lovely one-two's down the left-hand side, but the final ball through to Modesto is over hit and the chance disappears.
Milan thought they had made it two there! Robinho plays a delightful ball from the free-kick and the technique shown by Pazzini to hit a first-time volley into the roof of net is brilliant. However, he is denied by the referee who sees an infringement. The set-piece is re taken and this time the ball comes out to El Shaarawy, who smashes a ball with his left foot on the edge of the box, but Pazzini gets in the way,
Lovely play again by the Rossoneri. De Sciglio slides a ball down the right-hand side to Pazzini. The striker spins away from his man dinks an inviting cross and Pescara are forced to take action and put it behind for a corner. In the end, they get it away from the resultant set-piece.
Milan are knocking the ball about nicely and you get the feeling there is more goals in this match if they can find the right supply to their three-pronged attack. But Pescara nearly find a way through as Togni slides in Weiss but the ball is overhit and goes out for a goal kick.
OOOH GREAT EFFORT BY EL SHAARAWY! The 20-year-old picked up the ball from outside the box and from all of 25-yards hit a stinging low drive which had goalkeeper Perin worried and knocked the ball out for a corner.
Robinho is oozing confidence, his tight control and quick feet manages to evade the tackles flying in on the Brazilian, the follow-up to the move wasn't quite of the same standard and Pescara breathe a sigh of relief.
Well after a whirlwind 15 minutes the game has settled down. Milan demonstrating a certain confidence that hasn't been in the side for months. Pescara exhibiting a desperation akin to a team fighting for their lives in Serie A but they look dangerous on the counter.
Milan are next to attack and it's coming through the Brazilian source Robinho. Whether he's trying a shot or not is unknown but regardless he smashes across the box, and Pazzini anticipates the ball coming across gets in front of his man before firing towards goal. Difficult to take with the ball coming so quickly and he can't guide his effort on target.
Well Milan may have started this match brightly but this hasn't dampened the spirit of Pescara who are determined to make a game of this! Modesto fires in a cross from deep and Abruscatto attacks the ball with a venomous header but over the bar.
It's all go at San Siro and this time it's Pescara looking to find an equaliser. Weiss has shown enough promise already in this match to suggest that Milan will have to be on their guard to the livewire. And goalkeeper Amellia was on guard when a strike from outside box came flying towards him, but he made an important save to tip it round the post.
The fans are in full voice and there's a real feeling that the last few weeks could be a turning point in Milan's season. The Rossoneri come forward again Robinho linking up well with El Shaarawy before the youngster fires a deep cross in looking for Pazzini and then Perin has to be alert to covering defender's header who nearly lobs his own keeper!
@scotty2smithy says: @CTTurnbull What a start for Milan. Nocerino inside a minute!
That goal timed at 34 seconds. And Milan couldn't have wished for a better start. Confidence is surging through the side and Robinho attempts an ambitious shot from 25 yards which flies over the bar.
Assist Stephan El Shaarawy
Goal Antonio Nocerino
GOOOAALLLLLL!!! WELL WHAT A START BY MILAN!! And it's Nocerino who has opened the scoring! Milan have started at blistering pace. El Shaarawy found space in the box he slid across to Nocerino who couldn't miss. Exactly the start the Rossoneri were after. Pescara have it all to do.
We're underway here at San Siro...
And this is how the visitors line-up PESCARA: Perin; Balzano, Terlizzi, Capuano, Modesto; Nielsen, Togni, Bjarnason; Weiss; Abbruscato, Vukusic.
This is how the respective sides line-up today. AC MILAN: Amelia; De Sciglio, Zapata, Yepes, Constant; Montolivo, Ambrosini, Nocerino; Robinho, Pazzini, El Shaarawy, The Rossoneri line-up in their usual 4-3-3 and have made a few changes from the side that beat Reggina to reach the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia. No Abate or Antonini at the back, they're replaced by De Sciglio and Constant. Nigel de Jong ruptured his Achillies tendon and will remain sidelined for the rest of the season. Emanuelson also is replaced by Nocerino. It's a strong attacking line with Stephan El Shaarawy returning from his rest against Reggina. Pazzini and Robinho continue up front alongside him.
Well Pescara managed to halt a run of four straight defeats last weekend in Serie A with a defiant 2-0 win over Genoa and another determined performance will be needed if they're to get anything from San Siro today. Massimiliano Allegri will feel somewhat comfier in the Milan hot seat after securing three straight league wins and an emphatic 3-0 win in the Coppa Italia on Thursday. A victory here is expected, but to do it in style would give the coach more support of his claims that he can turn the fortunes of the club around in the second half of the season.
