Had a compelling duel with Jovetic for much of the afternoon, losing out when the striker made it 1-1 before saving an effort from outside the area. Left stranded as Amauri added the winner late on.
Committed the cardinal sin of dropping behind the offside trap to keep Jovetic in play, allowing Fiorentina to equalise. Could do little to make up for that error when on the ball, passing up a couple of great crossing opportunities.
After making an excellent run in behind Camporese and Natali he was closed off well by Nastasic. Thereafter he had little success, and was replaced by Robinho on the hour.
Booked early on for blocking off Jovetic amidst a flailing tackle from Ambrosini, but brought the ball out well at times. Didn’t always convince when faced with Jovetic and Ljajic.
Sent in one rather scuffed cross which somehow caused all sorts of trouble at the back for Fiorentina, and wasn’t always dominant down the left before being withdrawn in the later stages.
Cut off De Silvestri just as he was shaping to cross in the second half, but then failed to deal with a standard ball over the top and only aided Amauri, who would make the most of his chance to win it for Fiorentina.
Occasionally left scrambling to get tackles in as Jovetic and Ljajic picked up balls between the lines, but he eventually had to leave the field after pulling what appeared to be a groin muscle shortly after half-time.
Often picked the wrong pass as Milan looked to build pressure, and he never really got into the kind of positions from which he has scored so many goals this season.
Fired high and wide when jumping onto the scraps of an Ibrahimovic free kick, then wasted possession on a couple of occasions when well placed to do better.
Denied by Boruc from a decent free-kick effort, but there was no stopping his penalty to give Milan the lead. Could have had a second when staving off countless defenders to get to the edge of the area, but then he lifted his shot high over the bar. Headed one good effort wide in the second period as Milan’s play became more reliant on his end product.
Went down somewhat unconvincingly under the challenge of Nastasic as Milan were awarded the penalty which gave them the lead. Hit the post after taking down Ibra’s crossfield ball on the chest, then got in front of Nastasic but saw his shot blocked by Boruc. Had another effort stopped by Felipe as time ran out on Milan.
Stretched across to make a good parry from an Ibrahimovic free kick, but went the wrong way on the penalty. Bravely blocked Maxi Lopez’s shot from close range before anticipating a couple of dangerous crosses well to snuff out Milan’s hopes.
Swept across well to deny Emanuelson a shooting chance, but then grabbed a fistful of Maxi Lopez’s shirt to concede a penalty. Got the wrong side of attackers a number of times, but his recovery play was good enough to help his side through.
Gave away easy possession early on, then allowed Emanuelson to get in behind when he misread the play. Improved thereafter, looking more durable in the battle after the break as Fiorentina upset the odds.
L. De Silvestri
Went on a barnstorming run past Zambrotta as he cut in alongside the byeline, but was closed off by Mexes just when he had a chance to cross. Teed up Jovetic with a great ball which sent the forward clear to equalise.
Patrolled the left wing well, and even had time to get a couple of excellent tackles in. Practically a fifth defender late on, and he more than did his job.
Caught out of position by Emanuelson’s run before Nastasic stepped in, but failed to close the door, with Ibrahimovic twice getting in behind him, resulting in his substitution for the final 20 minutes.
Did well to get in front of Nocerino as Milan attacked in the first half, then helped to relieve pressure when carrying clear with Maxi Lopez on his back. Used his artistic left foot to cause the occasional problem for the Milan back line.
Put himself about in midfield, with his industry giving his direct opponents few chances to get on top in the game. Got the better of Ambrosini and Muntari in two notable challenges, but was less commanding after the break.
Slipped when well placed to get a shot in after arriving near the far post, but put in a decent display on the whole before being given the final five minutes off with Olivera replacing him.
Fired well over from an early free kick, then ran into two tacklers when he might have been better attempting to cross on the stroke of half-time, but was one of Fiorentina’s key outlets. Less effective after the interval, leading to his substitution for Amauri.
Saw an early effort finish just wide of the far post, but he was to equalise straight after the interval when breaking the offside trap and keeping a cool head to slot under Abbiati. Should have had another on the break, but shot tamely at the keeper. Calmly returned Amauri’s pass at the end to pick up a winning assist to boot.

- 76 M. Yepes

Replaced the injured Ambrosini for the last 35 minutes and appeared to revel in the pivot role, but was booked for a reckless foul in the closing stages.
Made an emotional return to the pitch five months after suffering an ischemic stroke, replacing Zambrotta for the final seven minutes plus stoppages.
- 92 S. El Shaarawy
Brought on for Emanuelson on the hour mark, and had a great chance to be the hero but saw his right-foot half-volley fly straight at Boruc.
- 89 Neto
Replaced Camporese and made one timely block stretching low to keep out Maxi Lopez.
- 32 M. Marchionni
- 92 Rômulo
Kharja’s replacement for the final five minutes.
- 17 A. Salifu
Brought on late in the day for Ljajic and provided the late twist by exchanging passes with Jovetic and slid the ball beyond Abbiati.
