Saved well on rare occasion he was called into action. Distribution was sometimes disappointing but can be pleased with his display.
A better performance from the former England man but still sometimes wasteful in possession. Still getting back to full fitness.
Looked like he'd never been away after coming back into the heart of defence. As always very good positionally and dealt with most threats with ease.
Showed again his ability to adapt to different roles as he shielded the defence well from the centre of midfield. Confident in possession without playing too many incisive passes before his late goal sealed United's progression.
More displays like this will have Evra sweating about his place. Strong in defence and a real threat in attack. His excellent cross laid on the second goal for Chicharito.
Beaten by Redmond on occasion and wasn't his usual self going forward. Covered his centre-backs effectively when required.
Showed glimpses of good wing play but his final ball became increasingly poor. Too many crosses were over-hit while his set-pieces were also disappointing.
Too many sideways passes but he at least kept the ball well and looked to take control of the midfield area. Still plenty of potential there.
Another eye-catching display as his direct running from a central role caused endless problems for the Norwich defence. On another night he could have found himself with a couple of goals.
Showed glimpses of why Sir Alex Ferguson forked out so much for him, though he did also lose the ball on occasion. Not a terrible competitive debut.
Expertly finished from the spot before sealing the win with a simple header. His movement caused numerous problems and he went close to a hat-trick.
Pulled off some good saves and had no chance with any of the three goals. A decent understudy to Ruddy.
Lost Chicharito for the second goal on a difficult night for the centre-back. Saw his downward header saved with score 1-0.
Shown up by Young and Buttner and conceded too many free-kicks, especially in the first half. Didn't show anything going forward and lost Fabio for United's fourth goal.
Solid as he marshalled the defence and won plenty of crucial headers. A weak clearance that allowed Jones to volley home was the only blot on his copybook.
Troubled by Zaha on occasion and regularly lost possession. Got better in the second half but this was not his best performance.
Wasn't at his best but still troubled both full-backs with his quick feet. A horror head injury saw him stretchered off in the second half.
Norwich's best player on the night before a side injury forced him off in the second half. Was a real menace but couldn't get on the ball enough.
Struggled to make any impact on the game as he tried but failed to find space between the United midfield and defence. Eventually substituted.
A half-hearted attempt at a tackle gave away the penalty and he never really recovered. Lost possession and missed a good headed chance just after the break.
Passed the ball effectively and made an excellent clearance under his own bar to deny Ferdinand early on. Could have got forward more.
Looked like he didn't know any of his team-mates as he regularly lost the ball trying flicks that no one reacted to. Missed a good chance when still one goal down.
