It wasn't the prettiest game for the hosts, but it was just enough to earn the win. Feghouli's strike sinks the Granada, who remain just above the relegation zone. Emery's men create a little breathing room in third place, sitting six points ahead of Athletic Bilbao.
90' + 7'
Valencia survive! The free kick is headed out an Los Che earn three points an their second 1-0 win over Granada in league play.
90' + 6'
Yellow Card Guilherme Siqueira
90' + 6'
Oh no. Solado commits a foul. Long free kick coming. We have seen Valencia suffer in these situations at least twice this term.
90' + 6'
Just a minute left as Mathieu is fouled. That should do it.
90' + 5'
Set piece in their defensive half, Valencia take their time before knocking a ball past the far bye-line.
90' + 5'
Unai Emery, as usual, looks a bit nervous on the side of the pitch. Just two minutes to go, albeit ones that will surely feel like many more.
90' + 3'
Rami has headed out more balls today than he has in the last few games combined as another cross is knocked out. As much as the visitors have trouble holding onto the ball, the visitors equally struggle passing.
90' + 2'
Still five minutes to go as Guaita clears the ball up the field. It's obvious how much Los Che miss Ever Banega's skills, controlling the ball and passing around. They just can't keep the ball here with so little time left.
Yellow Card Franco Jara
Yellow Card Fran Rico
Wow. This one isn't very close to ending. Seven added minutes here, still plenty of time for Granada to tie.
GOAL! GRANADA! Oh wait, offside is called! Off a corner, a rebound sees an effort fall in front of goal where several home players were clearly offside. Now, Guaita holds his leg, appearing to be a bit banged up, but he is certainly trying to waste a little time.
Soldado controls the ball on the right, eating up a little time after failing to take a solid touch to go on goal.
Yellow Card Bruno
Abel goes on frame with a curving, low shot, but Guaita is there at the back post to grab it with ease.
Uche is fouled by Bruno near the top of the box, setting up a dangerous set piece.
GUAITA! A cross in front of goal sees the Spanish goalkeeper do well to scoop it up. Minutes left now to hang on for the much-needed three points.
Yellow Card Mehmet Topal
Topal with a card. All but three starters received yellows.
Another change coming for Valencia, the last one. Looks like Jordi Alba will come off and Pablo Piati will come on.
Aritz Aduriz Zubeldia
Jonas comes off for the visitors as Aritz Aduriz comes on for the last 15 minutes.
Guaita, Topal, Bruno and Jonas are the only players for Valencia without a yellow car.
Yellow Card Jérémy Mathieu
Sub coming on for Los Che. Pablo Hernandez is on and goal scorer Feghouli is off.
The second half has certainly lacked offensive opportunities. Granada are now trying to escape their own half and push the ball up the field. Valencia's defence is making it impossible and Guaita's hands have been solid.
Jara tries his luck after beating Bruno at the corner of the box, but the former Arsenal de Sarandi man shot the ball right at Guaita.
Yellow Card Víctor Ruiz
Granada in control of the tempo, making runs own the right and sending in crosses, but Rami and Bruno each head out an effort. Los Che are on their heels.
Yellow Card Jordi Alba
Soldado is stuffed in the box after having no passing options. The Spain international tried to split to defenders and get a shot off but Lopez an Gomez did well to contain him.
Bit of a slow spell in the match as tackles disrupt possession.
This may be the worst game of the season in regards to crosses. The passes aren't even close, mainly from Granada. Jamie just sent on closer to the far corner flag than the box.
For those interested in Valencia's match on Thursday against PSV in the Europa League. The Dutch side fell today 6-2 in a match against Twente.
Dani Bentiez carries the ball down the left, all alone, looking for a cross, rather finding row g.
TINOOOOOOOO. Costa fires a shot after Soldado did well to advance the ball on the right, but the Argentine's bullet effort flies by the right post from the top of the box.
Uche comes on for Ighalo, who contribute a poor cross and nothing else.
Yellow Card Roberto Soldado
Solado gets a yellow card. Soft call, tripping up a defender. Seventh card of the season for the Spaniard.
Yellow Card Adil Rami
Rami and Jara get into it after a yellow card by the French defender for a tough foul. The Argentine had some words for the Valencia man. Surely he wasn't telling him how much he enjoys Rami's modeling pictures or how the weather is.
VALENCIA DODGE A BULLET! With all the quality passing, Jordi Alba loses the ball in the middle of the pitch as the hosts go on the counter. A ball to the right side of the box finds Jaime, who cuts inside before firing a rocket off the right post! Nearly 1-1.
Valencia are touching the ball aroun nicely, with ease.
The home fans are making plenty of noise, supporting their squad who just can't seem to get that perfect, clear chance on goal.
The teams are back on the pitch for the second half, which is seconds away from starting.
Well, the guests have the slim lead thanks to Feghouli. Guaita has been kept busy with crosses, but little else. The next 45 minutes shoul be exciting! Stick with Goal.com for coverage. Also, be sure to check out the match report an player ratings after.
45' + 2'
Thats it! The first half has ended.
Corner to Granada before the half ends. Benitez sends in a cross that is headed out by Valencia, before another ball is sent in with the same result.
The visitors are showing solid positioning in the first half, giving the home side little room to work with. On top of that, Emery has been relatively quiet on the sidelines. He must like what he is seeing.
Yellow Card Tino Costa
Five minutes left in the first half an Valencia keep pushing the ball up the field well. There is plenty of space between the Granada defenders and midfielders to work with.
JUST OVER THE BAR! A ball gets lofted into the box for Jordi Alba, who softly knocks the ball over the goalkeeper and the goal. The 2-0 was there for Los Che!
Tino Costa is fouled again at the middle of the pitch. Seems to be more fouls than passes in this one.
Yellow Card Dani Benítez
Well, it wasn't the prettiest goal, but it is enough for the advantage. Los Che haven't been the best side with the ball but have created more chances, finally taking one. 10 minutes before half, Valencia are looking for another, starting to play more down the left.
Goal Sofiane Feghouli
GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! Feghouli does it! Jonas controls the ball at the middle of the pitch, before sending the young winger through with a low ball. The Algerian controlled the ball on the right with a defender on him, cutting inside to his left foot from 20 yards before firing a low shot that reserve goalkeeper Julio Cesar got a hand on, but the ball found its way into the net, rolling in so slowly.
Mikel Rico makes a nice run to the front post and heads an effort towards goal that Guaita saves with ease. Now on the counter...
Mathieu looks to play a long ball to Solado into the box but it flies past everyone. Seems to be the story today.
Nearing 30 minutes in the contest and Granada, though in better form, have not found a good chance on goal. The possession is there, but the pass to send someone through isn't.
The game is getting a bit physical on both sides, but mainly Valencia fouling Granada players. Jordi Alba just got megged, with the ball finding Jaime, who was knocked down by Mathieu, with the home man then knocking down Jordi Alba.
Soldado again! The Spanish striker is sent through thanks to a brilliant Jonas header, but he can't finish one on one as Julio Cesar blocks the shot at the top of the box.
SOLDADO! Mathie springs down the left to control a long ball, and before reaching the bye-line, the French winger sents a ball to the front post that Soldado heads just over!
Yellow Card Sofiane Feghouli
NEARLY IN! Off a corner, a low bal is played into the box by Granada, and nobody touches it as it flies by the far post! Wow!
Corner to Valencia, which Tino Costa takes. The Argentine sends in a curling effort that passes everyone in the box. Just poor.
As long ball is sent over the top of the Granada defence to Jori Alba, but the pacey winger can't get there in time as it crosses the bye-line.
A bit of delay in the action for a few minor injuries, one being a bloody nose, but the match is back in action.
Ouch! Rami delivers a crunching hit to Jara as both looked for the ball in the air, setting up a free kick from outside the box. A cross from Fran Rico comes in but Guaita grabs it with no trouble at all.
Jamie controls the ball on the right wing, beating Victor Ruiz with a little move before sending in a powerful cross that passes the box.
Jordi Alba with an ambitious long-range effort that is saved comfortably by Julio Cesar.
Slow start to the match as neither team has really settled in, failing to hold onto possession for more than a few seconds.
Here we go!
The match is just minutes away. Can the home side push themselves further away from relegation? Will Soldado keep up his fine form after scoring three against Venezuela midweek for Spain?
For Emery's side: Guaita, Bruno, Rami, Victor Ruiz, Mathieu, Topal, Tino Costa, Feghouli, Jordi Alba, Jonas, Soldado.
The starting XI for the hosts: Julio Cesar, Cortes, Ingo Lopez, Borja, Siqueira, Fran Rico, Mikel Rico, Jaime, Dani Benitez, Jara, Ighalo.
In early October, these two teams met, with Valencia winning 1-0 thanks to a goal from Sergio Canales, who was lost for most of the season due to a knee injury.
Los Che have lost consecutive road games and have seen their decent lead on third place slip a bit. Today is a big game for Unai Emery's men, who will place PSV on Thursday in the Europa League.
The starting XI for each side is on its way. Send your predictions and comments on Twitter to @RCGonzalez10
Taking a glance at the standings, Valencia remain in third despite last weekend's 2-1 loss to Sevilla at Mestalla. The home side today are in 16th place, just four points above relegation.
