Stood strong to deny AC Milan on many occasions and managed to avoid his occasional blunder in this match. Made a few strong saves late on to preserve a point for his team.
A juggernaut in attack, the defender had a superb game. Kept Abate on a tight leash for most of the match, and whipped in some very dangerous crosses. Was Fiorentina's major inspiration in attack after the break.

The ex-Lazio man delivered a mature performance as he managed to balance well between attack and defence. Showed good positioning sense, and helped out nicely in the final third.
Had his fair share of troubles with Ibrahimovic, especially in the air, as he was beaten countless times by the Swede. Improved as the game progressed, but still looked indecisive.
Started shakily, but grew in confidence and finished the game on a high note. Was a tower of power in the air, and showed great positioning.
Like Montolivo, the ex-Palermo man had a disastrous match in the middle of the park as he failed to stamp his authority. Awfully misplaced far too many passes, and was replaced in the second half.
The drifted in and out of the game, but generally failed to impress. Was too slow on the ball, and looked isolated for large parts of the game.
The ex-Roma man had a frustrating game, in which almost nothing he tried worked. The static behaviour of Gilardino hardly helped matters, but the attacker really put forth a lot of effort. Made a few telling passes, but lacked incisiveness and was substituted at half-time.
A dire performance by the alleged AC Milan target. The Italy international was played off the park by Nocerino and Aquilani, and was chasing shadows for most of the game. Failed to impress on the ball as well.
The midfielder was lucky to stay on the pitch after his horror challenge on Ignazio Abate, and all in all had a horrible game. Walked a fine line with the referee all game, and failed to provide any edge in the final third for the Viola.
The ex-AC Milan man looked clumsy and out of depth against his former club. Was isolated from the game, and hardly made any effort to change that.
Hardly tested in the match, but still showed good positioning and controlled his area well. Fiorentina had no chances of note throughout the 90 minutes, so this tells the whole story.
The veteran had a fine game, keeping Gilardino and Cerci at bay with relative ease. Showed superb positioning and great understanding with Thiago SIlva.
The Brazilian was once again a tower of power for AC Milan as he marshalled the defence with guile and skill. Showed immense reading of the game with his intervention to stop Gilardino in the 17th minute being a highlight.
The defender had a decent game as he was solid at the back and a useful outlet in attack as well. Kept it simple on the ball, and rarely lost ground to De Silvestri.
The Italy international was unusually quiet in the final third, and had a relatively poor game against Pasqual in the second half. Made no fatal mistakes, but still should have closed down his opponents more often.
The veteran struggled at times to keep up with the pace of the game, but his experience proved crucial, when Fiorentina were on the rise in the second half. Helped out well in defence.
Made sure Fiorentina had no chance in the centre of the pitch as he superbly did all the dirty work, allowing Aquilani to do his magic undisturbed. Was hard in the tackle as never stopped running for his team.
The ex-Roma man had a fine game in the centre of the pitch as he impressed with his precise passing and vision. Pulled the strings in the middle of the park, and nearly scored on a couple of occasions.
Showed occasional flashes of brilliance, but generally had a disappointing game. Wasted a good chance in the 13th minute, and his efficiency dropped dramatically after the break. All in all, a game to forget for the veteran.
The Brazilian had some good moments, but was isolated from the game for large parts. Retained the ball for too long at times and generally struggled with his final ball. Replaced in the second half.
The big Swede had a decent game despite not scoring. Showed immense vision as he displayed an impressive array of flicks and dribbles, but sadly his team-mates failed to take advantage of his lay-offs.
