Carvalho recieved a booking for bringing down Callejon as he was running towards the box. Some distance from goal. and it's unlikely Espanyol will try the shot.
Sergio Garcia down in the box after an aerial challenge with Pepe. Pepe appeared to jump unfairly, but the referee takes the safe option and doesn't give the penalty.
Real Madrid win a free-kick in their own half, after Carvalho appeared to jump unfairly, but the decision goes his way. Bizarre decision.
Javi Lopez has an effort from way out, and fires just wide! Good effort, but it would be hard to imagine Anan letting that in if it were on target.

Referee calls time on an action packed half! Both sides have had their chances, and Casillas recieved the fastest red card in Real Madrid's history for a light challenge! Marcelo's goal is the difference here.
Espanyol troubled in defence, as Mesut very nearly finds the head of Adebayor, but the defence just about get it clear.
Espnayol trying to attack again, as Javi Marquez plays a good ball through to Callejon on the right wing, but he's offside.
Sergio Garcia looking to attack down the right wing, but Marcelo blocks him as he tries to cut into the box.
Madrid applying pressure of their own now, but they cannot get through the Espanyol back-line.

GOAL MARCELO! Great goal! Madrid are 1-0 up. A great passing play between Ronaldo nad Ozil ends with Marcelo on the left wing, who fires it straight at Kameni from a tight angle, and Kameni spills it into the net! Great goal, but the 'keeper should really have done better there.

Madrid feeling aggrieved not to recieve a penalty, after Carlos Kameni punched the ball into his defenders arm! Espanyol get away with it though. A poor decision by the 'keeper.

Both sides enjoying chances in this one, but Madrid do look to be suffering somewhat from being a man short.

RED CARD! Casillas is sent off!! Espanyol broke free with Callejon, and Casillas comes off his line and takes him down. There was very little contac, and Callejon may have taken a dive.
