ONGC FC travel to Kolkata on the back of a morale-boosting win over reigning champions Dempo SC and will look to upstage another big name
Mondal, Okpara, Naoba, Saumik Dey
Harmanjot, Mehtab, Ishfaq
Bimal,Gurung, Odeola, Gawas;
Eke, Kunal Ghosh
League leaders East Bengal will be looking to maintain their current run of form that saw them ruthlessly dispose of the challenge of Churchill Brothers. Trevor Morgan currently heads one of the most complete squads in the I-League.
Though the strike pair of Chidi Edeh and Manandeep Singh were amongst goals in their last match against Churchill Brothers, they have been profligate given the number of openings created by their midfield.
East Bengal's defence has been their USP as they have only conceded the one goal which came against Dempo SC.
ONGC FC will have every reason to be happy. They upset the odds last weekend as they put in a strong performance to condemn Armando Colaco's Dempo to their first defeat of the season. Subrata Bhattacharya's side will no doubt have their tails up as they look to build on this win and climb out of the relegation zone.
The Mumbai-based side will be looking to improve on their woeful defensive record having shipped in 14 goals in 6 games played. They will buoyed by the fact that this fragile defence managed to keep out Dempo's attack and will be aiming for a repeat against East Bengal.
East Bengal: With no injury or suspension worries, Trevor Morgan has a fully fit squad under his disposal and is expected to name the same playing XI that beat Churchill Brothers so convincingly. Mehtab Hussain is expected to return after not starting against Churchill due to an injury.
ONGC FC: Subrata Bhattacharya will not want to disturb the personnel that brought his team a vital three points against Dempo and will in all likeliness name the same XI that took to the pitch against Dempo.
