  • Thank you for being with me. Hope you enjoyed this game. This is Arjun Namboothiri taking your leave. Stay tuned to Goal for further updates and reactions. Good night!
  • Churchill secure probably the most important three points of the season with the heroics of Lalit Thapa. Their defence was excellent in this game and never really gave East Bengal more than a couple of chances at goal. East Bengal's title hopes receives a blow as Bengaluru clearly holds the advantage going into their final two games of the season.
  • 90' + 5'
FULL TIME: Churchill Brothers 1-0 East Bengal.
  • 90' + 4'
Nervous final minutes here. Churchill not finishing the game. Bengal look to attack but nothing is really working for them.
  • 90' + 2'
OH BALWANT!! What drama here as we head into the final 2 minutes of the game. Three Churchil players against two Bengal defenders and Balwant shoots it wide instead of passing. Will this cost Churchill?
  • 90' + 1'
WHAT A SAVE!! TOP TOP QUALITY SAVE!!! Sueoka was put across by Abhishek Das but Lalit Thapa produces a wonder save. Absolutely brilliant form the shot stopper there. He has kept Churchill in the game throughout the game.
  • 89'
SHOT!! Shabana tries an ambitious shot from long range and it goes way wide.
  • 87'
    Yellow Card Raju Gaikwad
  • 87'
What has happened here? Balmuchu is down exactly inside the box close to the line and Raju Gaikwad comes and tries to pick him up and place him outside the pitch. The Churchill players protest and there is a small fight taking place between the two teams.
  • 83'
Needless second booking for Khabra as the ref gives him the marching orders for bringing down Balwant. Is this the turning point of the match?
  • 82'
    Yellow/Red Harmanjot Singh Khabra
  • 81'
WHAT A MISS!! YOU WONT GET A BETTER CHANCE THAN THAT!! Balwant misses from close range after he was put through by wolfe on the right. He just had to tap it in, but the Indian forward shoots it above the bar. Is it the curse of the 'FPAI Fans player of the year' award ?
  • 79'
    Yellow Card Harmanjot Singh Khabra
  • 77'
Shabana plays poor ball to Jaison who cannot reach it on the left flank. The crowd sigh as Churchill head into the final 12 minutes of the game.
  • 74'
WHAT A WASTE!! Chidi wastes a wonderful opportunity after being put through by Lobo inside the final third. His first touch was great to go past Ravanan but his shot was poor.
  • 72'
A couple of substitutions have slowed the game down. Balwant is not having a good night with National team coach Wim watching on the stands.
  • 71'
    SubstitutionRobert Lalthlamuana Thockchom Singh
  • 70'
    SubstitutionY. Raju Denzil Franco
  • 68'
East Bengal having bulk of the possession so far but nothing really happening that is threatening the Churchill defence. Ravanan and Thapa have been solid.
  • 64'
Raju is receiving treatment after getting a knock on his thigh. He has been taken outside the pitch. There is plenty of time lost.
  • 62'
    SubstitutionJaoquim Abranches Shylo Malswamtulunga
  • 61'
SHOT!! Shabana looses the ball and it falls to Lobo who goes for an ambitious shot which goes way above goal.
  • 59'
Will either team pay for their missed chances, only time will tell. Another half an hour to go and you just can't predict the outcome of this game.
  • 55'
ANOTHER SAVE!! Top class save this time on the other end of the pitch from Abhra Mondal. Shabana dribbled past two Bengal players, kept the ball in possession wonderfully before putting Wolfe through with a great ball, Wolfe tries to go for power instead of placement as another chance goes away.
  • 51'
WHAT A SAVE!!!!! Lalit Thapa produces a save of great quality after Chidi was put through one on one with him. Chidi should have put that in the back of the net.
  • 50'
BIG CHANCE!! Joaquim's cross is cleared by the Churchill's defence and Churchill counter attack with wolfe on the right flank, he keeps his cool among two yellow shirts and gives a wonderful cross across to find Balwant who couldn't connect with his jump.
  • 47'
Shabana does well to keep possession and give the ball to Lenny, the Goan has Wolfe and Balwant to choose from but his long pass is wayward. Sloppy play.
  • 46'
    Second half Kick's off.
  • The teams are heading for what looks like an exciting second half. These 45 minutes minutes could have considerable impact on both half's of the table. Are you as excited as I am? Let's get into the action.
  • Churchill will definitely be the happier of the two sides going into the second half with a lead, but they would need to score more to put this game to bed. East Bengal have shown no urgency at all so far, they don't look like a team fighting for the title so far. Maybe Colaco's has plans lined up for the second half. Lets wait and see how this game unfolds.
  • 45' + 2'
HALF TIME: Churchill brothers 1-0 East Bengal
  • 45'
    2 minutes added time.
  • 44'
The first half is slowly coming to an end. Churchill have been the brighter of the two teams so far. Will we see a late goal with a couple of minutes to go?
  • 41'
Lenny runs half way across the pitch on the left flank with Abhishek das not really putting any pressure on him, he puts a cross looking to find Wolfe, but the bengal defence deals with it quite easily.
  • 37'
Shabana is receiving treatment as he was needlessly tackled by Robert. The full back goes into the referee's books rightfully.
  • 36'
    Yellow Card Robert Lalthlamuana
  • 34'
SHOT!! Wolfe gets a shot which goes just wide. He had the liberty to pass it to Balwant who was shouting for a pass but the trinidadian went solo instead.
  • 31'
SHOT!!! Abranches gets a shot in after the ball fell to him from a East Bengal corner. The shot is well saved by Thapa who makes yet another save.
  • 29'
    Yellow Card Satish Singh
  • 27'
Sueoka gets the ball inside the box after a commotion around Churchill's penalty box. The shot however is weak and finds Thapa's hands. But if he had scored the goal wouldn't have counted as the linesman raises the flag for offside.
  • 25'
WHAT A MISS!! Saran takes a wonderful free-kick from the right and finds Balwant who's header is hit above the post. Oh what a chance.
  • 23'
    Goal Y. Raju
GOAL!!! Raju scores a simple left footed strike after being found by a misplaced Saran shot. It all started when Jaison played a lofted ball to Raju who put it back to Balwant, Balwant layed up Saran who's shot fell to Raju who easily placed it in. How important could this goal be?
  • 20'
The Bengal team have not really got into the thick of action so far as Churchill's defence have kept them relatively quiet.
  • 17'
SHOT!! Ralte gets a shot in after wonderful one touch play from the East Bengal trio of Sueoka, Chidi and Ralte. The shot however ballooned over the bar.
  • 15'
Wolfe gets the ball from Jaison, shoots towards goal but it hits a East Bengal body and goes directly into the hands of Abhra.
  • 12'
SHOT!! First shot on target for East Bengal as Ralte shots with his left which could only find Thapa's hands.
  • 10'
CHANCE!! Saran curls in a dangerous corner which Balwant connects, but it's not strong enough as Abhra collects it with a couple of Churchill players lurking.
  • 7'
SHOT!! Balwant shots from inside the box which is just wide. It was Wolfe's run from the right that initiated that move forward.
  • 6'
CLOSE!! Wolfe comes close. Shabana's through ball finds the trinidadian with only a touch to get away from the keeper, but his stretch is not enough as Abhra clips it away.
  • 4'
Balwant looking to get to the back pass but Abhra is there to collect it in time.
  • 2'
East Bengal start the stronger side with a couple of long throws in and possession in Churchill's half.
  • 1'
    KICK OFF.
  • So this looks a cracker of a game. Just a few minutes to kick-off. What are your predictions? Will East Bengal show their title credentials today? or will Churchill heap misery on the bengal side? Tweet us your predictions and thoughts to @Goal_India. Let the battle begin.
  • Good news for Churchill is that Raju Yumnam, Saran Singh and Satish Singh are all back into the starting 11 giving them much more depth and the much needed strength to the red machines.
  • East Bengal are the in form side going into this game with three consecutive victories and a win would take them within one point of league leaders Bengaluru FC. Armando Colaco's magic seems to be working with the likes of Chidi and Sueoka finding their feet orchestrating most of the goals the red and gold have scored in their tremendous run in.
  • After Mohammedan Sporting's victory last weekend there is absolutely no room for error for Churchill as they head into their alst three games of the season. They have to face Salgaocar in their last game which another uphill task, so nothing less than a win will be needed today.
  • What a match we are about to witness today. Colaco and Bhowmick face their former sides and hope to yield a positive result for their respective teams at opposite ends of the table. East Bengal need a win to stay in the title hunt, whereas Churchill need a win to avoid chances of relegation. A must win for both.
