Well that is it! With Hannover pushing for an equaliser Dortmund held on before Perisic added a goal to Lewandowski's brace. BVB go four points clear of Bayern Munich at the top of the league with their seventh win on the trot.

Goal Ivan Perisic
GOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!! PERISIC SECURES IT!! Hannover caught napping as Perisic gets on the end of a quick free kick and volleys past Zieler and into the net. Dortmund have won it!
Two minutes of time added on here. Can Hannover rescue a result to preserve their unbeaten run?
Another effort on goal from Hannover. This time it is Diouf but he snatches at the volley and Weidenfeller is comfortable in the knowledge that the ball will roll wide.
Great defending from Subotic! Stindl's ball in flashes across the face of the goal. With the Hannover players lining up Subotic gets a touch on it take it out of their reach and avoid the equaliser.
Hannover have not given up. Pogatetz forces his way through the Dortmund midfield but it fails to lead to anything. BVB need to get the ball and hold on to it or they risk a late recovery from the visitors.
The Hannover players are streaming forward for this free kick but Rausch puts in an awful delivery. He has really looked out of sorts since his introduction.
Crucial interception from Schmelzer! Diouf would have been through one-on-one with Weidenfeller but the left-back does superbly to get his body in the way of the ball, great defending.
Rausch manages to work himself some space for a shot 30 metres from goal but he cuts across the ball and slices it well wide of Weidenfeller's goal.
Kagawa drives at the box after picking up the ball in the final third. His options are limited so he plumps for a shot. It is on his left foot though and his tame effort is collected comfortably by Zieler.
That could have been game over! Eggimann is caught out by the ball and allows Kagawa in behind the ball falls to Barrios but Pogatetz gets his body in the way again and the ball goes behind. The corner comes to nothing for BVB who need to take back control of this game.
Hannover are starting to enjoy a large amount of the ball but need to be careful not to over-commit as they could be caught by BVB who have broken with great intent regularly throughout the game.
Sergio da Silva Pinto
Yellow Card Ilkay Gündogan
There is a real frantic feel to the game since the penalty appeal. The home fans are incensed and Hannover appear to be feeding off it. They storm up the field and Schmiedebach is brought down cynically by Gundogan. Weidenfeller turns the free kick behind.
Yellow Card Didier Ya Konan
Surely a penalty! Not given! Kagawa is completely floored in the area by Cherundolo but the referee does not award anything. I do not know how he has gotten away with that.
Zieler makes another great save! Dortmund cannot seem to find another way past the keeper as he gets down to make another save from Lewandowski.
Yellow Card Sebastian Kehl
Subotic fails to clear the wall and the chance is wasted. They need to be testing Zieler because their lead is only a single goal and Hannover do not look out of this one.
Nifty feet from Lewandowski earns his side a free kick in a dangerous area. What can they do with this one?
Rausch whips it in and it is not touched by any player, forcing Weidenfeller to push it away. However an offside decision is given which may have been against Diouf.
Yellow Card Marcel Schmelzer
Hannover have an opportunity to launch the ball into the box from a free kick here ...
Poor call from the referee's assistant. Grosskreutz finds space between Pogatetz and Eggimann and rounds Zieler but he is adjudged to be offside. The replays show that he was level with the defenders in a real let off for Hannover.
Yellow Card Lars Stindl
Great save from Zieler! Some great pressure from the hosts ends with Kehl firing a shot at goal from 30 metres. It arrows low to Zieler's left but he gets down and fists the ball to safety.
An inspired substitution from Slomka though he remains ice-cool on the touchline. The Hannover fans are making all the noise in the stadium and that will give there team some belief. We are set for a fantastic final half-hour.
Assist Mame Biram Diouf
Goal Didier Ya Konan
WHAT A GOAL!! YA KONAN!!! He has only been on the pitch a matter of minutes and scores a superb goal out of the top drawer. He picks his spot from wide on the left, about 25 metres from goal and fires a shot over Weidenfeller and into the top corner. Fantastic strike from the Ivorian and the comeback could be on!
Didier Ya Konan
Mirko Slomka looks ready to make a double substitution to change the outcome of this game. Ya Konan and Rausch will enter the fold to try and make a distance for the visitors.
Well they had been threatening to score another towards the close of the first half and they have got it now. Kuba's control under pressure in the box was phenomenal. He has had an absolutely brilliant game here today.
Assist Jakub Blaszczykowski
Goal Robert Lewandowski
THERE IT IS!! 2-0!! It's the same Polish combination for the second goal again. This time it is Piszczek who crosses for Kuba and the winger controls the ball superbly with his chest before cutting the ball back to Lewandowski who taps in his second goal of the game.
Hannover look a shadow of the team that started this game. They were pressing well and looked more like the home side but Dortmund are dictating the match now. They just seem to be lacking the final ball to open up the Hannover defence.
So close! Piszczek bends in a cross from the right and Lewandowski does well to shrug off Cherundolo in the box and get to the ball first. However he cannot get his head around the ball enough to get his effort on target.
Dortmund launch yet another counter but Kagawa takes a bit too long on the ball and gives it away when Pogatetz intercepts the Japanese's pass.
Little has been seen of Diouf so far other than inflicting what is a suspected broken nose on Bender in the first half. Mirko Slomka will be hoping that his strikers can make more of an impact in this half.
The second half is underway at Signal-Iduna-Park.
The teams are making their way back onto the pitch. The second 45 minutes will be on the way shortly.
The referee blows for half time and Dortmund lead by a single goal though it could have been more. Lewandowski scored the game's only goal but could easily have had another when he missed from two yards out. A good game so far here with surely more goals to come. Join us for the second half in 15 minutes.
45' + 1'
Great defending from Pogatetz! Schmelzer is again providing a great outlet down the left and he finds Kagawa in the centre of the box. He fires a shot at goal but Pogatetz puts his body on the line and blocks his effort with his chest.
KUBAAAAAA!! What a miss! Kagawa finds Kuba as BVB launch the counterattack. He dinks the ball over Zieler but it's neither a cross nor a shot. He really should have committed to the shot and it could well be 2-0 now.
Dortmund are knocking on the door here and another goal before half time could really kill off the match. Slomka will be disappointed after his team's excellent start.
It's in the net again! But offside is given! Lewandowski is found on the cutback by Piszczek and his shot is deflected onto the post. Piszczek fires a shot at Zieler that is well saved on the rebound and then Lewandowski taps in but the right-back was offside from the striker's original shot.
Kuba bends in a free kick from a central position and again he looks for Hummels. The centre-back manages to foul both Diouf and Eggimann as he tries to get up to the ball.
SCHMELZER GOES CLOSE!! A great ball from the right by Kuba found Kagawa in plenty of space at the top of the box. The defenders stand off him and he slips the ball to Schmelzer. He drills his shot low and across goal but it rolls past the post.
The game has gone a bit stale since the goal. Hannover are finding it difficult to hold on to the ball as they were but are now trying to keep it at the back to halt the momentum. Certainly going to be an interesting final 10 minutes as they look to play the long ball to get out of defence.
The goal has been a bit of a blow to the visitors and Dortmund are now growing in confidence with every minute. The two wing-backs are attacking well to join the front four which is causing Hannover with a lot of defensive duties.
Well I did not see that coming! The game had settled into a steady rhythm with both teams throwing the odd jab at the other but a couple of instances of poor positioning have cost Hannover a goal. How will they react to this? Let me know your thoughts via twitter @thwebber.
Assist Lukasz Piszczek
Goal Robert Lewandowski
GOOOOAAALLL!!! LEWANDOWSKI!! It's an all-Polish goal. Great tracking back from Kuba to regain possession in his own half before launching the attack. He laid the ball to Piszcek who slipped the ball to Lewandowski who peeled away from Pogatetz. He drove into the box and lashed into the net but you have to question Zieler's positioning there.
A number of fouls in the last few minutes have disrupted the flow of the game, though to be fair it was yet to really get going. It has been fairly even so far though in what is a very big game for both clubs and Hannover are giving a good account of themselves.
Yellow Card Manuel Schmiedebach
Another set-piece from wide on the right is taken by Kuba. He looks for Hummels at the back post but the centre-back cannot jump high enough to get his head on the ball.
Yellow Card Mame Biram Diouf
Why did he do that?! Grosskreutz plucks the ball down in the area and could have had a shot at goal but instead he hooked it over to the back post. The wide-man over-hit his pass though and the ball went out of touch for a throw in.
Diouf gets a booking after a series of rough challenge. A bit of dissent earns the forward a booking. He will have to tone it down for the rest of the game.
Schmelzer blazes his second effort of the game way high of the goal. Perhaps it will be third time lucky for the left-back.
Great play from Hannover! Pinto and Cherundolo combine well to cut through the heart of the defence. Pinto connects with the ball in the area but Piszczek comes across from right-back to get his body in the way of the ball.
UNBELIEVABLE MISS!!! Kuba's free kick from wide on the right eventually found its way through the defence to Grosskreutz. He squared the ball across the face of goal and Lewandowski stretched to reach it. He failed to make a solid connection two yards from goal and the ball rolls wide.
A free kick out on the right for Hannover is sent into the box by Stindl but he fails to find a team-mate and the ball is cleared away by the Dortmund defence.
Dortmund have started to settle into the game now after Hannover's energetic start. They are moving the ball well and look close to penetrating the opposition down the left with Schmelzer, Lewandowski and Kagawa combining well but the left-back is offside on the return pass.
Such a shame for Bender. After the great news of his call-up to the German international team he has had to be removed following Diouf's challenge. Gundogan comes on to replace him and now he has a chance to try to launch a campaign for a regular spot.
There is a break in play here after an awful challenge by Diouf has left Bender down on the ground. The defensive midfielder is currently receiving medical attention but will hopefully be able to continue.
Hannover have started well here. They are pressing with good intensity and looking to control the play. Cherundolo then looks to move the ball forward down the right but his pass goes long and they lose possession.
There is a typically great atmosphere at Signal-Iduna-Park but Hannover show they are here to do their best. After winning the ball back in midfield Abdellaoue plays the ball to Diouf but he is in an offside position. Good positive start from the visitors.
Here we go, the game is underway!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick off is just moments away.
Hannover come into this game having knock Club Brugge out of the Europa League in midweek. They have yet to lose a Bundesliga game following a European outing, completely disproving the 'continental hangover' effect. Is today the day we see it in effect? Let me know via twitter @thwebber.
In the reverse of this fixture it was Hannover who came out on top with a 2-1 victory back in September 2011. All the goal scorers in that game will not start on the pitch today with Haggui and Ya Konan on the bench for Hannover and Kagawa injured for BVB.
So Kagawa comes back to the side after injury to occupy the central role behind Lewandowski but Gotze is still on the sidelines. For Hannover, Pogatetz is back from suspension and displaces Haggui in the centre of defence.
Hannover (4-3-1-2): Zieler; Cherundolo, Eggiman, Pogatetz, Schulz; Stindl, Pinto, Schmiedebach; Schlaudraff; Abdellaoue, Diouf. The substitutes for Mirko Slomka's side are: Miller, Haggui, Chahed, Rausch, Lala, Ya Konan and Stoppelkamp.
Here is how the hosts line up. Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Weidenfeller; Piszczek, Hummels, Subotic, Schmelzer; Bender, Kehl; "Kuba" Blaszczykowski, Kagawa, Grosskreutz; Lewandowski. On the bench for BVB: Langerak, Santana, Owomoyela, Lowe, Perisic, Gundogan, Barrios.
Dortmund are unbeaten in their last 17 Bundesliga matches and will want to continue that run in order to maintain their distance from Bayern Munich who have beaten Schalke 04 2-0 today. A win today would be Dortmund's seventh on the bounce. Team news up next.
