A loose first touch gifted Diouf a clear chance on goal early in the game. He did well to recover and deny a shot, but the mistake was very poor nonetheless. Redeemed himself late as he stopped what easily could have been an own goal from Boateng.
Played very well for 75 minutes, but struggled near the end of the match. Left Ya Konan alone in the centre for the goal, then allowed Diouf space to nod what should have been the equaliser over the bar. Nearly volleyed in a spectacular own goal, but was bailed out by his goalkeeper.
The better of the Bayern centre-backs, he made a great recovery to spare Neuer's blushes, and unlike Boateng, did not make a mistake in his defending. His form continues to inspire praise.
Cool and comfortable on the ball, and with pace to burn, the Austrian attacked well and was involved in Kroos' goal. He also did very well to block an attempt from just in front of goal after Neuer's error. However, it must be said that when the visitors gathered momentum late, more danger came from Alaba's side.
A good game overall from the captain, who was a bright spot in the attacking half and set up a sitter for Ribery. Very little danger came from Hannover's left side, although he was out-jumped by Diouf ahead of Ya Konan's goal. But still, that could only be expected.
Man of the match. The 22-year-old deserved a pair of assists before half-time as his brilliant service twice set up Olic. He took matters into his own hands for the opener, though, chipping Zieler with a world class finish. Played some fine passes after the break, including the one that assisted Gomez.
Battled hard in the centre and added typical pace and physicality in defensive areas. Won the ball ahead of Gomez's goal and made some good tackles, although he was occasionally over-enthusiastic and gave away a free kick in a dangerous position with eight minutes left.
Like Ribery, was not exactly at his sharpest. His first touch let him down as he wasted a good chance with a volley over the bar on 10 minutes. Kept rather quiet for long spells, but played a clever back-heel to assist Kroos' opener. Silent after the break.
Far less efficient than usual, the Frenchman chose the wrong pass as he led a three-on-one break, and squandered a clear chance on 20 minutes. But he persisted and his magnificent run and pass created Kroos' opener. Also did well to set up Gomez for what nearly was a goal, but rebounded off the post.
The out-of-favour midfielder had a very rare chance to prove himself and was perhaps over-eager as he got himself booked early. Did not exactly turn heads in 57 minutes before his substitution. Might have played his last match as a Bayern player.
Little more than a pair of legs up front, the veteran was largely ignored by his team-mates. Squandered a one-on-one with Zieler early, and later over-ran a Kroos pass when he should have scored. Replaced by Gomez for the final half-hour.
Beaten by two world-class finishes. Did not have many saves to make, and none were spectacular by any means. Came off his line for a cross early and missed the ball, but was fortunate not to be punished.
Did very well to keep up with Robben, and not to be beaten on the dribble throughout the game. Once fell asleep as Lahm came in on the overlap, and can be faulted for not staying with Gomez before Bayern's second goal. But on the whole, a very good performance from the former Germany international.
Made some very good interventions to stop Ribery and bail out Cherundolo. More active than his partner, and very strong in the challenge.
The veteran struggled in defence, with Ribery and Gomez getting the better of him several times. But he did very well advancing into attacking areas, and his cross set up Ya Konan's goal.
Had little trouble containing Olic for long spells, but his pace let him down on a few occasions as the Croatian, and later Gomez, got behind him.
Had little joy on the wing, but once found himself ahead of Lahm in possession and beat Boateng with a low cross that needed just a touch to find the net.
Was forced to chase the ball often, but willingly accepted the role as he covered nearly every blade of grass on the pitch. Supported the back four with good defensive work, but offered little in the build-up.
Was jeered for an hour and absolutely could not cope with the pressure as he played in a very hostile environment. Struggled to keep the pace in midfield, and even when play stopped, he failed to put his set-pieces on target. Substituted with 29 minutes left.
Nullified by Badstuber and barely ever received the ball. A poor performance from the Norwegian, who was replaced by Ya Konan midway through the second half.
Struggled to make an impact for long spells, but exploded into form late in the game. Keen to take the ball off Neuer's foot, and assisted Ya Konan's goal. Had a chance to equalise shortly thereafter but missed by inches.
Will be disappointed not to have made a better account of himself in attack. Played in one telling cross all game, his only real significance in the final third.
- 22 H. Butt
- 13 Rafinha
- 26 D. Contento
Replaced Pranjic for the final 33 minutes and had a very quiet game. Hardly an improvement, if at all, but made no mistakes of note.
A late substitute for Kroos. Perhaps should have shot rather than rounding Zieler in an instance in which he could have settled the result. Energetic nonetheless.
- 9 N. Petersen
Replaced Olic and had an instant impact as he, from a tight angle, struck the post. Put the result to rest shortly thereafter with a truly world-class finish from Kroos' assist.
- 14 M. Miller
- 19 C. Schulz
- 23 S. Chahed
- 3 K. Haggui
- 8 A. Lala
D. Ya Konan
Replaced Abdellaoue and made a bid for more regular minutes as he found the net with a brilliant overhead finish. Booked for a very poor tackle later on.
Came on for the ineffective Pinto for the final half hour. Not directly involved in any clear chances on goal, although his movement and class in deep areas bolstered the visitors' late run.
