Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have won 3-1 at Wolfsburg. The gap between the two sides remain separated at the top of the Bundesliga by three points ahead of their meeting in midweek.
And that's full time. Bayern pick up another victory, and remain in close pursuit of Borussia Dortmund ahead of the two sides' mouth-watering clash on Wednesday. It wasn't spectacular, but a win's a win.
90' + 2'
Bayern shepherd the ball out for a corner, and Neuer punches the ball away from his fellow goalkeepers head. It breaks to Werner, who blasts it over, and that should be the end of the game.
90' + 2'
Augsburg have a late free kick, and Simon Jentzsch, has joined his team-mates in the area.
Franck Ribery, the birthday boy, is withdrawn in favour of Diego Contento to a standing ovation. Meanwhile, the fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
Werner swings in a corner as the visitors aim to get a late, late equaliser, but it's nowhere near deep enough and Bayern survive.
Alaba strides forward and tries to play in Robben, but once again his final ball is lacking. It breaks to Ribery on the edge of the box, who scoops his shot over the bar. Kind of sums Bayern up today.
Gomez tries to slip in Alaba, of all people, on the edge of the box as Bayern aim to kill off any threat of an Augsburg comeback.
Sankoh seems to be able to continue, as Hosogai is withdrawn in favour of Hain.
Ribery moves into the penalty area and bewilders Sankoh with some lovely footwork before driving the ball across the face of goal. Great play.
A poor ball from Robben falls to Lahm, who wastes no time in crossing to Schweinsteiger, who heads the ball straight at Jentzsch. A poor header, but, distressingly for the visitors, Sankoh is on the ground, having gone down under the challenge from Schweinsteiger.
Verhaegh is furious with the referee after he's penalised for what seemed to be a fair challenge on Ribery.
Ndjeng has been replaced by Werner as Augsburg look to add some cutting edge to their midfield. Both of the visitors' reserve strikers remain on the bench, however.
Neuer finds Ribery in a threatening position with a monster of a throw, and the Frenchman looks to switch the play to the opposite flank to Robben, but it's a poor pass, and Augsburg get possession back.
Augsburg have been fairly comfortable in possession over the last few minutes, but they've really lacked the penetration that troubled Bayern so much in the first half.
Kroos looks to play in Robben, but his pass is wildly over-hit and gifts possession back to the visitors, cuing a few groans from the home faithful, who expected better.
The tempo has really slowed since the second Bayern goal. Augsburg are afforded some possession, but having already taken off their striker, I can't see them truly threatening Manuel Neuer's goal again.
Bayern are absolutely adamant that they should have a penalty as Gomez is nudged off the ball by Langkamp as he looked to latch on to Kroos' flick. It could have been given, but it may have been slightly harsh on Augsburg.
Meanwhile, at Wolfsburg, Mario Mandzukic has pulled one back for the hosts, who have halves their deficit to 2-1.
Somewhat predictably, the hosts are in complete control again. Augsburg have seemed to be a little toothless since the start of the second half, and Bayern have shifted up a gear.
Assist Arjen Robben
Goal Mario Gomez
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAYERN HAVE THEIR LEAD!!! Robben receives the ball from Lahm and passes it into the path of Mario Gomez, who can't fail to score from two yards out. Lovely play from the hosts, who retake the lead, but Augsburg have really got to question why the likes of Gomez were left unmarked.
Robben drifts inside and looks to play a cunning ball through a sea of players, when Ribery was screaming for the ball at the far side of the box. He really should have looked for his team-mate there.
My, my. Ribery plays a great ball to the leaping Muller, who can't quite reach the ball, but Robben collects the ball. Jentzsch forces the Dutchman back, and the ball breaks to Schweinsteiger, who tries to chip it in the empty net, but it goes some distance off target.
Augsburg are looking to park the bus, it seems. Nando Rafael, their striker, has been replaced by Callsen-Bracker, a defensive midfielder.
More bad news, I'm afraid, Bayern fans. Ilkay Gundogan has put Borussia Dortmund 2-0 up. Victory is really essential here for the hosts.
And Tymoshchuk is hauled off in favour of Kroos. Heynckes is going for broke, it seems.
Toni Kroos is stripped and ready to come on - Heynckes seems to want some more penetration, and is turning to his pass-master.
A Robben drive from distance strikes Muller, and Augsburg scramble the ball away despite the hosts' best efforts.
Alaba takes a shot after a cunning Schweinsteiger dummy slips the Austrian in, but the youngster's shot drifts well wide. A less than impressive effort, but it's along the right lines from the hosts, who really didn't threaten the opposition goal enough in the first period.
And now it's Augsburg's turn to threaten their opponents. Bellinghausen slips in Ndjeng, who crosses it, but there's no one there to challenge the ball.
Some good play from Bayern there. Alaba picks up the ball and feeds Muller, who tries to thread it through to Gomez, but Bayern's goalscorer for the day is offside.
And we're back! Augsburg get the second half started. Can the visitors pull off an unlikely result, or will the hosts continue their title charge? All will be revealed in the next 45 minutes.
The teams are out and, the second half is just seconds away.
And that's half time. Bayern got off to the dream start, with Mario Gomez following up his own parried shot to put his side ahead after a matter of seconds, but since then, Augsburg steadied themselves, and have even dominated their illustrious hosts on occasion. With Borussia Dortmund a goal up, it's absolutely essential for Jupp Heynckes' side to come away from this tie with three points. Stay tuned for the second half...
Alaba advances down the left and puts in a threatening ball across the face of goal which is crying out to be tapped in, but neither Gomez nor Robben get there.
Robben tries to ping a ball from the right in between the two Augsburg centre-backs, but it's easily cleared.
Bayern charge forward after clearing a corner, and Muller finds a completely unmarked Schweinsteiger at the far post, but the returning hero's strike curls wide of the far post.
Ribery comes inside from the left and shoots from 20 yards, but it's poorly hit and drifts harmlessly wide.
Bayern initially fail to clear the corner, and Rafael leaps in the air and heads the ball goal-wards, but Neuer is there to make an easy save.
Augsburg play the resulting free kick short to Ndjeng, whose shot is charged down and it goes out for a corner.
Yellow Card Holger Badstuber
And we've had our first card of the match. Baier drives forward, and Badstuber takes him down on the edge of the area with a cynical challenge, and picks up a booking.
Muller plays a fantastic ball - the best of the match so far - straight onto the head of Gomez, who contrives to send his header over from a matter of yards. He really should have buried that, or at least tested the 'keeper.
Robben slips Ribery in down the right, and the Frenchman sends in a ranging cross to the far post which finds Muller, but the German can't make a significant enough contact, and it drifts behind. Much better from the hosts.
Augsburg are playing some lovely football, it must be said, as they ping it about in the centre of the park and release Ostrzolek, who is closed down by Boateng eventually.
Augsburg win a corner as Ndjeng plays the ball off Badstuber, and behind. More industrious play from the visitors.
It gets worse, I'm afraid, Bayern fans. Robert Lewandowski has put Borussia Dortmund 1-0 up at Wolfsburg. As it stands, the champions are five points ahead of Bayern now.
Bayern try to get themselves back on top as he cuts in from the left and unleashes an incredible shot which flies past Jentzsch, but strikes the post.
Assist Axel Bellinghausen
Goal Koo Ja-Cheol
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!! And they're level!! Bellinghausen motors past Lahm on the left, and pulls it back to Koo, who continues his fantastic run of form by driving the ball past Neuer and into the back of the net. They've really deserved that, Augsburg.
SO CLOSE!!!! A Robben corner is punched away by Jentzsch as far as Tymoshchuk, who knocks the ball back goal-wards with the 'keeper stranded, but it goes just wide.
The Bayern fans are appealing for a penalty after a full-blooded challenge on Muller from Sankoh, but the defender got the ball, it must be said.
So, after their fantastic start to the game, Bayern have gone off the boil, and have even been threatened on a couple of occasions by Augsburg, who should be level. The hosts have barely recorded a credible effort since the goal...
Ribery bounds down the left, but is soon stopped in his tracks by Baier. The hosts have had some joy down the flanks so far, but Ribery has been a fairly quiet figure this afternoon.
OFF THE LINE!!!! After some scrappy defending in the Bayern box, the ball falls to Ndjeng, who has an open goal with Neuer stranded, but Boateng gets across and blocks the goal-bound shot on the line.
Neuer is able to fist away Bellinghausen's free kick, which is aimed towards the near post.
Florian Meyer, the referee is subject to boos from the Bayern crowd as he gives Augsburg a free kick in a threatening area for a foul against Tymoshchuk.
Bellinghausen fools Lahm down the Augsburg left wing and crosses it in, but there's a foul in the box and Bayern are awarded a free kick.
Robben takes the free kick himself and bends it towards the far post, but it's too high for any Bayern player and drifts behind for a goal kick.
Robben charges down the right, but wins a free kick when Ostrzolek hacks him down.
Neuer comes brilliantly off his line to hack the ball away with Bellinghausen bearing down on him. Another good sign from Augsburg.
Ribery tries to slot it through to Gomez, but Sankoh gets across and intercepts the Frenchman's pass.
Augsburg finally seem to have settles in the match, and play a great through ball towards Nando Rafael, who is beaten to it by Neuer, who is as sharp as ever off his line.
Augsburg have barely touched the ball so far. Robben tries to motor through midfield, but fells Hosogai in his eagerness to get to the ball.
Goal Mario Gomez
GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ribery makes an early charge down the left and feeds Mario Gomez, whose initial effort is saved by Jentzsch, but the 26-year-old is there to put the ball in the back of the net from the rebound. Great start to the game!
And here we go! Bayern Munich get the game started!
So, with kick-off is just minutes away. What will happen? Will Bayern Munich record yet another victory and put Augsburg back into the relegation mix? Can the visitors pull off a shock and continue their good run of form? You can send your predictions to me via Twitter (@eniskoylu). All will reveal itself shortly... Stay tuned!
Meanwhile, Augsburg start with: Jentzsch; Verhaegh, Sankoh, Langkamp, Ostrzolek; Ndjeng, Koo, Hosogai, Baier, Bellinghausen; Rafael
The teams are in. The hosts will begin the match with: Neuer; Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba; Tymoshchuk, Schweinsteiger; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Gomez
Good afternoon! Welcome to Goal.com's live coverage of the Bavarian derby between Bayern Munich and Augsburg at the Allianz Arena. Both of these sides are in desperate need of points for the opposite reason: Bayern Munich want to keep up with Borussia Dortmund at the top of the table, while Augsburg need to keep their heads above water at the wrong end of the table.
