L. Messi 21'
90' + 4'
It's all over here at Camp Nou as Barcelona have been held to a 1-1 draw by Real Mallorca. Barca continued to dominate the second-half as well but the Islanders did give a better account of themselves in the second session than they had in the first. From me and the rest of the Goal.com team here in Barcelona. it's goodbye for now.
90' + 2'
Mallorca come threateningly close as they force a corner. They were actually in a two-against-three situation but couldn't capitalise on that.
Four minutes of injury time have been awarded. Four minutes for Barca to bag all three points, four minutes for Mallorca to hold on to a great result...
Mascherano takes another attempt on goal from distance but this time Aouate makes an easy save.
JAVIER MASCHERANO!! The Argentina international takes a shot from outside the area but Aouate makes a save - not a very comfortable one but a save nevertheless.
Yellow Card Michael Pereira
Yellow Card Edson Ratinho
Now Nolito gets on to the 'solo act' as he cuts inside down the left, goes towards the touchline and takes a shot at the near post but Aouate makes a good save.
Messi tries to something rather audacious as he juggles the ball inside the Mallorca 18-yard-box but eventually loses possession. Still 1-1 here at Camp Nou.
Once again it is Bojan who is at the end of a pass, this time from Nolito, but he fails to keep his shot on target. Bojan is Barca's main striker tonight and he has been wasteful to be honest...
Messi goes down inside the Mallorca penalty area but the referee waves play on. I just watched the replay again and indeed there was no contact as the Argentina international slipped on the turf.
BOJAN!!!!!!!!! The Spanish youngster hits the post from a very acute angle!!!! Daniel Alves conjures up an exquisite pass and releases Bojan in front of goal but the latter's shot strikes the near post from the right and there is no one to tuck in the rebound.
A quarter of an hour remain here at Camp Nou. A quarter of an hour for Barca to find the winner...
Once again Barca try to play their passing football and once again they end up with nothing. Barca do not have a targetman in this match - someone who can just put his foot down inside the Mallorca penalty area and lurk in for an opening.
20 minutes remain for the Spanish champions to score a goal and bag maximum points. Remember, Real Madrid are at home to Deportivo la Coruna right after this game and any slip-up could put Barca behind Madrid in the league standings after los Blancos' match against Deportivo.
Messi now released Pedro inside the Mallorca penalty area but Aouate makes a brave save.
Barcelona are being frustrated by Michael Laudrup's side here at the moment. In fact, Pep Guardiola's great Barcelona team could have actually fallen behind!
Yellow Card Chory Castro
End-to-end action here at Camp Nou. First Mallorca midfielder Jonathan De Guzman's shot goes just wide and then Messi releases Bojan but the Spanish youngster's shot on target goes across the face of the goal.
NSUE!! He takes a shot from the corner from inside the Barca area but it goes just over the crossbar. Barca survive yet another scare there.
VICTOR VALDES! Pique made a horrendous mistake as he gave the ball away cheaply to Webo inside the Barca area and the Mallorca substitute took a shot at the Barca goal. Valdes was off his line but he scampered to put the ball behind for a corner.
Half an hour left in the match and it is still 1-1. Can Barca find the winner?
Yellow Card Dudú Aouate
MESSI!!!! The 23-year-old shoots at the Mallorca goal but only at the side net. To be fair to the world's finest player, his was an acute angle and Aouate was covered at his near post anyway.
It's become slightly more tempered, the flow of Barca's game here at Camp Nou. There is no one to find that killer final ball for Barca, to be honest. Well, there are players who can 'invent the game' but no one has been able to find the final ball so far for the Spanish champions...
It's been all Barca again, reminiscent of the first-half. Once again the Catalans are dominating possession and territory but are unable to find the target.
Yellow Card Pierre Achille Webo
PEDRO!!!!! Barca continue to rock the Mallorca backline as Messi floats in a ball over the defence on to the head of Bojan on the left who then nods it towards Pedro. But Pedro's shot is somewhat blocked and Aouate has no problem is stopping the tempered shot.
LIONEL MESSI!!! Daniel Alves goes out on his marauding runs again on the right flank and whips in a cross that Messi could only side-net. Kevin should be more careful about giving Alves that much space on the flank.
And here we start with the second-half. It is 1-1 but Barca have been all over Mallorca in the first 45 minutes.
Pierre Achille Webo
It's half-time here at Camp Nou and it is 1-1 between Barcelona and Real Mallorca. Messi gave the Catalans a deserved lead on 20 minutes but Emilio Nsue equalised just before half-time. Join us for the second-half.
Assist Jonathan De Guzmán
GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! Mallorca have equalised just two minutes before the break! The corner is whipped in from the right and Emilio Nsue heads it home. 1-1 here at Camp Nou.
VICTOR VALDES!!!!!!! The Barca goalkeeper makes his first save of the match as Gonzalo Castro forces him to dirty his shorts and make an important save. Fernando Cavenaghi showed real vision in creating that chance.
BOJAN!!!!!!! The Barca youngster shoots from distance but it goes wide.
Five minutes of normal time remain in the first-half. Barca are still leading 1-0.
SEYDOU KEITA!!!!!!!!!!!! Eric Abidal makes a scintillating run down the left flank and crafts a well-measured cross aiming at Keita just yards out. However, Keita's header goes wide.
Gonzalo Castro makes a run inside the Barca penalty area towards the byline on the left but he is shrugged off the ball by Gerard Pique.
ABIDAL!!!!!!!!!!! Messi floats a ball over the Mallorca defence from the right that Abidal receives inside the penalty area on the left but his attempt on goal is weak. Aouate claims it with ease.
OOOOO Barcelona were under pressure there as a quick counter-attack saw Mallorca drill in a cross from the right that Pique eventually blocked. This is probably the second time that the Islanders have been anywhere near the Barca penalty area.
PIQUE!!! The corner is drilled in and the World Cup winner heads the ball towards the Mallorca goal but cannot keep it on target.
WAS THAT A PENALTY!!!!! Messi gallops into the net like a cheeky young Cassanova drilling his way into women's hearts but he is caught by Mallorca custodian Dudu Aouate. However, the referee waves play on and Messi does play on, forcing Aouate into a near-post save.
Messi's goal is nothing more than what Barcelona deserve. Barca have been the better side right from the first kick and indeed there is more to come - I get the feeling that we will see a goal very, very soon.
GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! MESSI HAS GIVEN BARCELONA THE LEAD! Daniel Alves marched with the ball from the deep on the right, passed it to Pedro, who caught between two defenders flicked it to Messi, who from outside the Mallorca area and with a clear sight on goal made it 1-0.
Goal Lionel Messi
Now Gonzalo Castro gallops with the ball down the left flank and carves out a low cross from the left wing into the Barca penalty area but Abidal intercepts it.
The last couple of minutes have been played inside the Mallorca penalty area as Messi and Eric Abidal have been trying to create space for themselves and get a proper shot on goal.
But I have observed one thing. Barca are not really getting a clear sight on goal. They have had the chances and the possession but they have yet to go very close..
A quarter of an hour gone in this match and it's been all about Barcelona. I have just been given the stats - Barca have had 90% of the possession. Yes, 90%!
Yellow Card Kevin
Mallorca are being battered left, right and centre at the moment as Barca have vehemently imposed themselves on them. Have I mentioned any Mallorca outfield player so far? I don't remember having done so.. Well, I suppose that just about sums it up...
Andres Iniesta whips in a cross from the left wing straight across the face of the Mallorca goal but Messi cannot reach it.
Now Messi gets on to the action as he tries his magic down the right but cannot thread ball into the net. It is all Barca here at the moment. Mallorca have not been able to get out of their half so far.
GERARD PIQUE!!! A low cross is driven in from the left straight across the face of the goal. It was a very good move but Pique couldn't reach out.
BOJAN! The Barca striker runs with the ball along the left and shoots ferociously at the Mallorca goal that Aouate just about manages to catch. Typical Barca start here at Camp Nou.
Barca earn their first corner in the second minute as a Daniel Alves cross from the right is punched behind the goal by Dudu Aouate. From the resulting corner, Pedro has the chance to shoot, which he does, but it goes just wide.
Barca on the attack right from the start as Pedro goes for a shot from an acute angle on the right but it is easily claimed by the Mallorca goalkeeper.
Hello and welcome to Goal.com's LIVE coverage of the Spanish Primera Division game between Barcelona and Real Mallorca from Camp Nou. The Spanish champions are without Xavi and David Villa today but are still expected to win.
