Pulled off some terrific saves from Modric and Benzema. Didn't have a chance for Madrid's goal.
Kept Benzema at bay as the Frenchman barely had a sniff.
Impressive performance from the left-back as he put in some superb last ditch challenges down the wing against Jese.
Was always in the face of Alonso and Modric in midfield in an attempt to pressure them into relinquishing possession. Was also a danger going forward.
Lacked some quality in the final third, as he was never a true danger to Madrid. Put in an excellent performance in his defensive duties.
Had plenty of guile in the middle and seemed up for the battle, but did show some signs of indiscipline.
Stuck to his task well marking Ronaldo. However, was lazy in possession in a dangerous area in midfield, which lead to Madrid's opener. Was lucky not to see red after headbutting Ronaldo.
Put in a mammoth defensive performance as he put his head on everything that came into the box and jockeyed the Madrid attackers superbly. Helped to get Ronaldo sent off.
Displayed his box of tricks on occasion and managed to wriggle out of situations with his tremendous control when dribbling.
Put in a superb shift in his role at right-back despite being out of his conventional position.
Almost won the match for his side in the dying minutes with a powerful header, only to see it saved.
Didn't have much to do in the first half but when called into action in the second period he was terrific. Could have done nothing to prevent Ibai Gomez's volley and saved Madrid from losing in the last few minutes with saves from the substitute and Aduriz.
Brought the ball out of defence whenever he could and tried to catalyse Madrid attacks from the back. Allowed Pepe to mark Aduriz which allowed him to get the ball on the floor and distribute into midfield.
Uncharacteristically didn't show any attacking ambition down the left-hand side and barely got beyond Ronaldo on the overlap. Didn't provide width as an extra attacker but did marshal Susaeta well defensively.
Had a fairly quiet match tonight and just went about his business at the back. Had a few aerial duels with Aduriz and came out second best a few times as well clearing balls out of the box.
Much like Marcelo, seemed reluctant to go beyond the halfway line and join in the Madrid attacks. On the rare occasions he did manage to get forward, he put some decent deliveries into the area.
Attempted to take the game by the scruff of the neck in the second half but not all he tried seemed to come off. Tested Iraizoz with a dipping strike from the edge of the box, but didn't see enough of the ball in danger areas in the final third.
Á. di María
Didn't really prosper in his central position as the midfield was packed, which didn't allow him too much room to maneouvre. Did manage to muster up a few penetrative runs through the midfield, but nothing much came from them.
Seemed more than up for a battle tonight as the tackles were flying in from the get-go, and as such was arguably lucky not to see another yellow card. Distribution from his deep-lying role was not his usual best.
Had a horror show of a first half in which absolutely nothing he tried seemed to come off. Continually broke down Madrid attacks with poor touches and wayward passes, and attempted a few over-elaborate flicks that didn't come off. Did force Iraizoz into action with a powerful left-footed strike, though.
From the get-go he looked up for it and made a few swashbuckling runs down the right with his lightning pace. Broke the deadlock for Madrid in the second half with a predatory finish from inside the six yard box.
Was terribly isolated on the left-hand side and didn't get any decent service from his team-mates into the channel. Cheekily attemped a volley from distance in the opening minute that went wide but didn't really get any more strikes away. Saw red in the second half for raising his hand to Gurpegui.
