Pailan Arrows went down to an inspired Shillong Lajong performance in the last round of the I-League but Papas will certainly be happy with the way his team competed. The young Arrows side have stunned many this season with their ruthless pressing for the entire ninety minutes and their impressive play based on passing and movement. What was once a rag tag outfit of young Indian youngsters has been transformed into a team which play an attractive brand of football that has seen Papas' men currently occupying the top half of the table after eight rounds of I-League.
|Papas' methods have been a revelation this season
Papas will be expected to give Tirthankar Sarkar a start, who has impressed in his appearances from the bench, while the familiar duo of Holicharan Narzary and Alwyn George will reprise their roles upfront. In defense, the dependable pairing of Shouvik Ghosh and Deepak Devrani will be expected to turn up with the goods after being outmuscled by the Lajong attack.
Ravi Kumar is likely to continue being the keeper, with first choice Soram Anganba missing due to an injury.
|Yusa and Adeola will be huge misses for ONGC
Meanwhile selection headaches will dominate Subrata Bhattacharya's planning for this match. Under normal circumstances ONGC would look to bag all three away points. However with Katsumi Yusa and Hassan Adeola both suspended, the two pillars of the team that gave them the victory over Dempo will not be available against the Arrows.
Jatin Bisht who added stability to the midfield will also be out with personal reasons. Coming back off a narrow loss against Mumbai FC, the task will not be easy to motivate the team to get a result, especially with three of their best players missing.
Nigerian striker, Oneyama Eke will be expected to partner Kunal Ghosh upfront while a new look midfield composed of Rajib Boro and Joel Sequiera may come in place of Yusa and Bisht.
