Prayag United SC have slightly fallen off-track in their run after dropping points against East Bengal and Salgaocar FC in their recent fixtures and have just three more rounds of matches to notch a more likely third place finish with Pune FC for competition.

The Purple brigade will be boosted with the return of their star players in the Nigerian duo of Ranti Martins and Bello Rasaq in order to stabilise their attack and defense respectively for Friday's encounter.

The Arrows gave a good account of themselves against Dempo

Pailan Arrows are coming into the match after a positive outing in Goa where they defeated the defending I-League champions Dempo SC 2-0, and will be looking to use the same momentum for the rest of the season.

The All India Football Federation's (AIFF) developmental team has so far managed to erk out 23 points, with six victories and five draws from 22 matches, as compared to Prayag United's 35 points from 10 wins and five draws in 23 outings.

Prayag United SC: Ranti Martins and Bello Rasaq will return for the match, while defender Gouramangi Moirangthem is set to miss the match due to suspension. Goalkeeper Subrata Paul may get the nod ahead of an injured Sangram Mukherjee. Carlos Hernandez is still recovering from a hamstring injury and if he fails to recover on time, Kayne Vincent will take his place as the third foreigner in the team.

Pailan Arrows: First choice keeper Soram Poirei Angamba is set to return after serving his ban. Shiju Mon has been granted leave to attend his sister's wedding while Arthur Papas might opt for a more compact midfield against United SC.

  • Prayag United SC (46) are second only to Churchill Brothers (48) in the goals scored segment of the ongoing I-League.
  • Arthur Papas (pictured) is rumoured to be on the wish list of at least four I-League clubs, two of which are from Goa.
  • Prayag United have the head-to-head advantage having registered three wins and two draws against Pailan Arrows in their last five meetings.
