Sporting Clube de Goa bounced back from their 8-4 defeat to Churchill Brothers by downing Prayag United at Kalyani Stadium in round 13 of the I-League. Ogba Kalu put his side in the lead as early as in the fifth minute from the spot which was soon cancelled by Ranti Martins. Kalu was once again on the scoresheet in the second half and Joseph Pereira scored late to rub further salt on Prayag’s wounds.

Schattorie made one change to his lineup from the last game against Pune FC as Shylo Malswamtulunga made his return at the expense of Mohamed Rafique. Carlos Hernandez was missing due to an injury while Bello Rassaq was suspended. Oscar Bruzon made two changes as Ashok Singh replaced the inexperienced Agnel Gomes between the sticks while Matthew Gonsalves came in for Freiman Peixoto.

It was the away side who surged ahead in the fifth minute as Subrata Paul brought down Joseph Pereira inside the box giving referee N.Sundi no option but to point to the spot. Ogba Kalu duly obliged and did the needful.

Prayag began to stitch together a few attacking moves and were soon rewarded eleven minutes later. Lalkamal Bhowmick’ shot was parried away by Ashok Singh and Ranti Martins made no mistake in slotting the ball home.

In the second half, Kalu scored his second where he dribbled past at least Prayag players into the box and scored past a hapless Subrata Paul to put his side 2-1 ahead.

Zakeer Mundampara was given his marching orders towards the end. And if that was not it, Schattorie’s day was made even worse when Joseph Pereira scored to make it 3-1.
