Salgaocar FC did not have the ideal start to the season with a solitary point against Shillong Lajong in their last match, after losing their first match to United Sikkim away. However they can take comfort from the fact that both matches were difficult away encounters in the North East. However their poor form has also been compounded by head coach, Karim Bencherifa leaving for greener pastures. His replacement, David Booth has not yet taken over and Peter Valles, the assistant is currently in charge of the wards.
Valles has promised to stick to Karim's established game plan which has brought Salgaocar all the success which they desired. While Luciano Sobrosa will continue to lead the team from the back, it is anybody's guess if Sean Rooney comes back to start after Angel Guirado had scored the goal against Shillong. Anthony D' Souza who had been in great form during the Federation Cup needs to buck up after some disappointing performances and was dropped in the last game.
Meanwhile, Pailan Arrows are flying after a perfect start to the season with 6 points out of as many possible. New coach Arthur Papas has directed his wards to play an attractive brand of football with goals galore.
Holicharan Narzary who has already scored 3 goals in 2 matches will look to lead the line for the Arrows as they travel to Goa for their first away encounter of the season. The fiesty and tricky Alwyn George will be expected to support the hitman up front.
Salgaocar FC: Assistant coach Peter Valles has already said that he would not make wholesale changes to the side and a similar lineup is expected to start for the Greens. However five players have already been booked which includes Rocus Lamare and Nicolau Colaco in the first two matches.
Pailan Arrows: A testament to Papas' clean style of play, none of the Arrows' have a booking yet. He will be expected to stick to his winning formula with the in form Narzary leading the line.
