Luxembourg-Northern Ireland Preview: Group F strugglers fight for pride
Michael O'Neill will be hoping his side can return to winning ways after a disappointing collapse at the hands of Portugal last week
An emphatic second-half hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo condemned Michael O'Neill's side to a 4-2 defeat to Portugal at Windsor Park on Friday, having initially led 2-1.
Norn Iron will have to do without both Kyle Lafferty and Chris Brunt in Letzebuerg after the duo were sent off in that game.
The result leaves Ireland in fourth spot in the group - 11 points behind leaders Portugal - and three points clear of bottom side and Tuesday's opponents Luxembourg.
The Red Lions are winless but have picked up three points from their seven matches - including a 1-1 draw against Northern Ireland in Belfast last September - thanks to Daniel Da Mota's late equaliser.
However, they were beaten 4-1 by second-placed Russia on Friday and go into the game at the Stade Josy Barthel having not won a competitive fixture since their 2-1 success over Albania in September 2011.
