| PREVIEW |
Churchill Brothers go into this game as underdogs thanks to the impressive record that Mohun Bagan hold against the Goan side. The last time Churchill Brothers recorded a win against the Kolkata side was way back in 2010 when they beat Bagan by 2-0. Technical Director Subhash Bhowmick, a man with an illustrious coaching career that includes both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, employs a 4-3-3 formation with Brazilian Beto occupying the playmakers role behind the front three. Lacking genuine width the onus will be on the Brazilian to provide a spark to help Churchill come out on top.

Bagan's new signing Nirmal Chhetri will look to be a part of the Mariner's rich history
Mohun Bagan on the other hand have welcomed former Air India coach Santosh Kashyap who brings with him a brand of attacking football that impressed many during his time with Air India. Bagan have had a mixed bag of a pre-season with a handful of players ended up with a bout of dengue.
Apart from this Bagan have played against Kolkata-based sides Southern Samity and George Telegraph, followed by a couple of games in Jammu and Kashmir. They won the first game 4-0 and lost the second match 4-2 on penalties to the J&K XI. Bagan have made some wise moves in the transfer market with the likes of Nirmal Chhetri and Tolgay Ozbey joining the squad. They will need to settle into Kashyap's preferred 4-4-2 system which has good width and pace to tackle the threat of Churchill Brothers. Odafa Okolie has a muscle sprain and is a doubtful starter for the Green and Maroons.
