Player Ratings: Sweden 0-3 Brazil

Goal.com rates the players on show as Alexandre Pato added a late double to Leandro Damiao's first-half header in a dominant display from Mano Menezes' side

    Andreas Isaksson

Never looked too confident between the posts. He seemed nervy and lacked commitment on Damiao's header and Pato's first goal. He was then rather unluckily beaten from the spot by the AC Milan striker's miscued penalty.

  • Andreas Granqvist
    1
    0
    2.50

    Andreas Granqvist

Denied Thiago Silva a tap-in with the slightest of touches in the first half but regularly struggled up against the diverse Brazil attack. Almost got on the scoresheet with a sizzling volley before the break.

  • Behrang Safari

    2.00

    Behrang Safari

The left-back struggled to deal with the combination of Alves and Ramires down his flank and, despite his best efforts, he was frequently bested.

  • Jonas Olsson
    1
    0
    2.00

    Jonas Olsson

Left too much space in the channel to his left, which was regularly exploited by Brazil. He also allowed Damiao to peel off him and head in after 30 minutes in what was a lacklustre night for the defender.

  • Christian Wilhelmsson

    2.50

    Christian Wilhelmsson

He was one of few Sweden players to provide some attacking intent during the first half. His direct, driving runs had Alves and Ramires scampering, but his end product was lacking.

  • Pontus Wernbloom

Pontus Wernbloom Flop of the Match

Had a nightmare in the middle of the park. Despite the game being a friendly, he was reckless in the challenge all night. Finally booked for a challenge on Pato in the final moments, an indiscretion that led to the third goal.

  • Rasmus Elm
    1
    0
    2.00

    Rasmus Elm

Was utterly ineffective in midfield as his forward runs lacked direction and purpose. He was invisible for much of the game and was withdrawn in the 64th minute.

  • Samuel Holmen
    1
    0
    2.50

    Samuel Holmen

Found himself completely overrun in midfield and could little to counter Brazil's dominance in possession. He almost netted a consolation strike in the closing moments but was denied by Gabriel.

  • Sebastian Larsson
    1
    0
    1.50

    Sebastian Larsson

Played in the somewhat unfamiliar right-back position but after coping well initially, he soon began to struggle. He offered little resistance to Neymar on the left and allowed him too much space on the ball.

  • Ola Toivonen
    1
    1
    2.00

    Ola Toivonen

His first touch was bereft of quality all night as he spurned a pair of excellent chances to get his team in sight of the Brazilians. Had he tucked one of them away, the story could have been very different.

  • Marcus Berg
    1
    0
    2.50

    Marcus Berg

Had very little involvement in the match as he led the line on his own. Had a couple of bright moments and should really have bagged a goal before the break.

Substitutions

  • Anders Svensson
    1

    2.00

    Anders Svensson

Replaced Elm in the 64th minute and failed to help solidify the middle or add some purpose going forwards.

  • Tobias Hysen
    1

    2.50

    Tobias Hysen

Came on for Berg in the final 20 minutes and looked fairly lively.

  • Gabriel
    10
    0
    3.50

    Gabriel

Had very little to do in the first half until tearing out of goal to stop Berg from equalising before the break. He also produced another great stop to deny Holmen in the closing stages.

  • Alex Sandro
    4
    1
    2.50

    Alex Sandro

The Porto man was hardly posed with a single problem all evening but was far too reserved at left-back. He could have perhaps used that freedom to add to the attacking momentum of his side more frequently.

  • David Luiz
    15
    0
    3.00

    David Luiz

Kept things simple at the back with a far more composed performance than usual. Had little to do defensively and occasionally represented a dangerous target in the opposing area. He was replaced by Dede in the 75th minute.

  • Thiago Silva
    9
    3
    2.50

    Thiago Silva

Kept Berg quiet for the majority of the game. His only real mistake being an ill-timed step up that allowed the striker through on goal but fortunately Gabriel saved his effort. Alongside a more expensive defender he failed to improve.

  • Daniel Alves
    13
    2
    2.50

    Daniel Alves

Provided a regular outlet for his team on the right, though he could certainly have created more. He wasted a number of free-kick opportunities but an intelligent dink set Pato up for his first goal.

  • Oscar
    19
    2
    3.00

    Oscar

Not quite at his genius best, Oscar struggled with his creative duties. Rattling the post with a great shot in the 18th minute was probably his highlight, and Neymar's tap-in from the rebound was disallowed.

  • Paulinho
    6
    1
    3.00

    Paulinho

Put in an industrious performance in the midfield as he spread the play so his side could probe from all angles. Linked the defence to attack well in what was only his second cap.

  • Ramires
    7
    3
    2.50

    Ramires

Played out on the right as he did for Chelsea at the tail end of last season. He lacked his usual energy and did not seem to know whether he was to go forwards or get back in a rather aimless display.

  • Rômulo
    4
    1
    3.00

    Rômulo

A rather disappointing display from the Spartak Moscow midfielder. He was extremely quiet and relatively ineffectual in his deep lying position. That said, he had relatively little to break down from Sweden.

  • Leandro Damião
    8
    2
    3.00

    Leandro Damião

Though he may have been fairly quiet for large parts, he popped up with an excellent header in the 30th minute to give his side the lead. He showed some flashes of skill but was not as involved in the play as would have been liked.

  • Neymar
    18
    1
    3.50

    Neymar

Had a relatively quiet start to the game but his delivery was consistently brilliant. He was unlucky to have a goal disallowed but he produced a beautiful cross for Damiao's goal.

Substitutions

  • Dedé

    1

    Dedé

Replaced David Luiz in the 75th minute and had little to defend against in the closing stages.

  • Sandro

    Sandro

Brought on in the 88th minute for Paulinho and had no time to make an impact.

  • Lucas

    Lucas

Came on in place of Neymar in the 82nd minute but failed to add anything to the game.

  • Alexandre Pato

Alexandre Pato Top of the Match

Replaced Leandro Damiao with 15 minutes remaining and managed to net a double. The first was a simple header from Alves' flick and the second was from the spot, though he earned the penalty with a great run.

  • Hulk
    9
    1
    2.00

    Hulk

Came on for Oscar in the 75th minute and had no bearing on the match.
