Could not really take any blame for any of Atalanta's goals, and was otherwise solid. He even managed to provide a decent threat up front from set pieces in the dying embers of the game!
Threatening down the left hand side all game long, as a few crosses from open play fashioned openings for his team, while his precise delivery from a corner set up the opening goal of the contest. But his defensive play suffered as Atalanta found many avenues forward down his flank.
A little slow to get across his box and cover Giacomo Bonaventura in the build-up to Atalanta's goal but, to be fair, he could not have expected Walter Samuel to miss his header. It would get worse for him as he conceded a penalty, for a foul on Marko Livaja. But his nadir would come right at the death, with an unbelievable miss from point-blank range.
A constant source of energy in both halves of the field, as he hardly put a foot wrong defensively, and drove his team forward with the ball a few times during the second half.
Vulnerable throughout, losing sight of German Denis at the near post, which allowed the forward space and time to angle home one of Atalanta's goals.
Completely mistimed his jump early in the second half, allowing Giacomo Bonaventura all the time he needed to steal in and slot home Atalanta's leveler. But otherwise, he was solid at the back and put out a few fires from the opposition attack.
A bit hit or miss in the middle of the park, as some good lung-busting moments on and off the ball were contrasted with some careless instances in possession, from which he gave the ball away.
The Argentine midfielder did his job satisfactorily, offering a good degree of protection to his defence, and distributing simply but effectively. However, his efficiency was sacrificed late on for more dynamism as Inter went for broke.
Composed both on and off the ball. His passing and control helped Inter establish a foothold for large spells in the game, and crucially, he did not neglect his defensive duties much.
The veteran forward answered the call at Inter's hour of need, poking home the opener just before half-time, and playing a role in the home side's second goal just before the hour mark.
Lasted just over half an hour before departing with what looked like a tweaked hamstring. Inter will be praying its not a tear.
Poor for Inter's first with sloppy anticipation on a corner, and was slow off his line to intercept the ball for the home side's second.
Seemed to be fouled by Tommaso Rocchi in the buildup to Inter's second, but no one, apart from his own team-mates, took any notice. Looked very suspect at times.
C. Del Grosso
Had an effort in the first half that was well held by Samir Handanovic, but could not often inspire his team with any wing wizardry on the left flank. Substituted in the second half.
As unreliable as the rest of the backline, with Inter managing to create chance after chance down his zone of the field.
A very weak back header sold his keeper embarrassingly short and opened up an avenue for Ricky Alvarez to steal in for Inter's second.
Lost his cool late on with an act of violent conduct on Ezequiel Schelotto and was shown a straight red card by the referee.
Gave a good showing in the middle of the park, working hard in both halves of the field. Put in a few nice passing combinations with Giacomo Bonaventura.
A good two-way performance, like the rest of the Atalanta midfield. Strong in the air to defend a handful of set pieces, and was very assured on the ball despite the game descending into pettiness at times.
Put in his fair share of defensive work with a number of tackles made, and was effective in attack as well, showing good vision on the ball.
Brought his side back into the game initially with an opportunistic clip over Samir Handanovic after Inter's defence had fell asleep. Set up one of Denis' goals with a precise cross from the flanks and was a key part of Atalanta's recovery.
After a subdued first-half, the Argentine came alive wonderfully when the chips were down for his side. Struck his first from the penalty spot, and added two more with precise low finishes at the near post to flip a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 advantage.
Involved in a late tussle with the Atalanta players to mark an ugly end to the game.
Seemed set to be Inter's matchwinner off the bench, with an opportunistic prod home and a fine solo goal giving them a 3-1 lead. But his team-mates at the back could not match his work up front.
