Live Commentary

  • And that is the end of that. Catania are denied a point right at the depth by Giaccherini's last gasp winner. Perhaps harsh on the visitors, who had defended heroically, but it wasn't to be. Juventus now lead Serie A by nine points following Napoli's defeat as Conte's side push for the Scudetto. I'm Ben McAleer and from myself and everyone at have a great afternoon. Keep an eye on the site for the match report to come.
  • 90' + 4'
Quagliarella comes close to adding a second late on but Andujar spreads himself well to deny the striker to double their advantage.
  • 90' + 3'
And Juventus now extend their lead at the summit of Serie A to nine points.
  • 90' + 1'
    Goal Emanuele Giaccherini
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Giaccherini nets a last gasp winner for Juventus. Pogba puts a ball across the 18 yard box and Andujar palms away, but the ball ends up at the feet of the Juventus man to bury into the bottom corner.
  • 90'
There will be four minutes of added time here at the Juventus Stadium.
  • 89'
    Yellow Card Emanuele Giaccherini
  • 89'
Giaccherini is picked out expertly by Pogba with a probing cross field ball. He cuts onto his right in the penalty area and drifts inside before going down and appealing for a penalty. The referee wasn't to be fooled, however, and Catania are awarded a free kick.
  • 88'
Matri is played in by Quagliarella, but there's too much for the Juventus man to work with and the ball eventually ends up in the hands of Andujar.
  • 86'
    SubstitutionNicolás Spolli Alexis Rolín
  • 86'
Quagliarella picks up the ball and plays back to a Juventus teammate, but again the hosts can muster out an opportunity before Catania clear.
  • 84'
Chiellini is loitering around 30 yards from the Catania goal and he's picks up the ball to deliver. His cross, however, is easily gathered by Andujar, who isn't pressured by anyone in a Juventus shirt.
  • 83'
    SubstitutionAlejandro Gómez Edgar Çani
  • 82'
Juventus pushing for a last gasp winner, but they look devoid of ideas. They'll open a seven point gap at the summit of Serie A if things remain as they are, but it could easily be nine of they had made their passes in the final third count.

  • 80'
Pogba drives forward and can't deliver his cross. Juventus win the throw in and Matri is picked out in the 18 yard box, but heads over the bar.
  • 79'
Giaccherini looks to latch onto a cross to the back post, but he falls short and can't keep the ball in way. 10 minutes remaining of the second half.
  • 77'
    SubstitutionMirko Vučinić Fabio Quagliarella
  • 75'
    SubstitutionKwadwo Asamoah Emanuele Giaccherini
  • 74'
Entering the last 15 minutes of the encounter in Turin and with Chievo still 2-0 up against Napoli, there is the chance to extend their lead at the summit of Serie A.
  • 72'
Vucinic wins a free kick from just outside the edge of the 18 yard box. Pirlo stands over and drives under the wall, the ball is rebounded into play, and Marchisio is first to the loose ball, but fires wide from the edge of the six yard box.
  • 70'
After the intensity at the beginning of the second half, Juventus have taken their foot off the peddle. They're looking increasingly poor pushing forward and Catania must be confident they can snatch something from this encounter.
  • 68'
Pirlo, of all players, is robbed of possession in the midfield as Biagianti goes for goal from distance. His effort, however, drifts wide and Buffon is unchallenged. Juventus need to up their game after a sloppy five minutes.
  • 66'
    SubstitutionSebastian Giovinco Alessandro Matri
  • 66'
Catania are growing into this now as Juventus look that much cumbersome as the half wears on.
  • 65'
    Yellow Card Nicolás Spolli
  • 64'
A scare for Juventus at the other end as Chiellini heads behind for a Catania corner Biagianti loitering at the near post. The visitors, however, fail to take advantage of the opportunity and Juventus clear.
  • 63'
    Yellow Card Marco Biagianti
  • 63'
Pirlo puts in a perfect around-the-corner ball for Vucinic, but the striker miscontrols and the ball rolls for a goal kick. Lovely pass from the divine beard in the build up, however.
  • 61'
On the hour mark and Pirlo delivers a free kick to the back post. Catania clear, but only as far as Bonucci. He crosses for Chiellini, but he's penalised for a four and the visitors can breathe a sigh of relief once again.
  • 59'
Marchisio crosses for Pogba, but there's too much on his ball to the Frenchman. The Juventus midfielder slipped nonetheless in the 18 yard box and while Lichtsteiner can gather, the Swiss defender can't make the pressure count.
  • 58'
Juventus are camped in the Catania half as they win a throw in around the corner flag. Pressure definitely mounting for the visitors, who you could say are defending like beavers. However, it amounts to a poor Pogba effort who fires wide.
  • 55'
Every player, bar Buffon, in the Catania half as Juventus press again. Whatever Conte said at half time has evidently got through to the players, but again they're lacking the final pass in the opposition half.
  • 53'
Double Andujar save as the Catania 'keeper denies Bonucci first. He clears, but Juventus attack again, this time through Pogba, whose effort is the much more venomous. Andujar, again, is equal to his effort and palms away from danger.
  • 52'
Juventus have begun the half with added intensity as Pogba looks to latch onto Vucinic's low cross, but the Frenchman is beaten to the ball by Andujar.
  • 51'
The ball bounces around the Catania 18 yard box as both Giovinco and Vucinic look to latch onto the loose ball. A lack of communication, however, sees both players end up in each others way as the visitors can clear.
  • 49'
Slight delay in play here for Spolli to receive some treatment and we're underway once again. Gomez thinks he's through following Andujar's long ball up field. He fires just wide of the near post, but it wouldn't have counted anyway with the Argentine flagged for offside.
  • 47'
Lovely ball from Barzagli down the right wing for Vucinic. The Juventus man pushes towards the byline and delivers for Giovinco, only for the pint sized hitman to miss the ball around the penalty spot and Catania can clear.
  • 46'
It's Juventus who get us underway for the second half, no changes from either side at half time.
  • And the two teams are back out for the second half.
  • Interval here in Turin, can Juventus make their first half dominance count? Or will Catania hold on for a memorable point? We're five or so minutes away from the second half kicking off. You can send your predictions to me on Twitter @BenMcAleer1
  • No time added on here at the Juventus Stadium and for all of Juventus' dominance, they have lacked the killer touch to take the lead in Turin. Vucinic has come closest with two first half efforts, the first forcing Andujar into a very good low save and the second striking the post. Credit to Catania, however, they've defended superbly to keep the scores level at the interval.
  • 44'
Something for you Juventus fans on here - Chievo are 2-0 up at home to Napoli. If things remain as they are, the hosts will extend their lead at the summit of Serie A to seven points. A win will make it nine. However, many will quickly point out the capitulation from Chievo last weekend after surrendering a two goal lead to lose 3-2 to Inter Milan.
  • 43'
Juventus are becoming increasingly lacklustre in the final pass, Catania looking to capitalise on some poor attacking play from the hosts, but Gomez's effort is poor and goes out for a throw in.
  • 41'
    Yellow Card Alejandro Gómez
  • 41'
Just realised that Catania coach Rolando Maran has been sent to the stands after arguing with the referee as he felt his side deserved a free kick for a foul on Gomez by Bonucci.
  • 40'
Bellusci and Giovinco have a brief coming together as the former taps the latter on the face. The Juventus man, however, is left somewhat red faced as he realises nobody is watching, despite clutching his cheek. Embarrassing, really.
  • 39'
Giovinco wins a corner following some good work by Marchisio and Pirlo delivers, only to see his cross headed away by Almiron at the front post.
  • 37'
Free kick goes Catania's way inside the Juventus half after Chiellini needlessly gave away possession, failing to make a 10 yard pass. Lodi shifts the ball across the pitch, but the visitors fail to make the possession count.
  • 35'
Vucinic strikes the post. Catania fail to clear Giovinco's cross and the Juventus sidefoots his effort against the woodwork before the visitors clear. Closest we've come to a goal here thus far.
  • 34'
Marchisio sees his shot deflected wide for a corner. Pirlo's initial cross is headed behind for a second, before Vucinic heads over for a goal kick. Story of the first half, thus far - Juventus pressuring, but lacking the killer touch to take the initiative.
  • 32'
Catania counter after Giovinco dithers on the ball. Marchese leads the assault and after being played in, the left back spectacularly volleys for goal, but it's fired well wide.
  • 31'
A little under 15 minutes to go of the half and it's Juventus who are the dominant side. Catania, however, are defending impressively and have restricted the hosts to pop shots from distance, with Vucinic forcing the only noteworthy save from Andujar.
  • 29'
A Juventus free kick now around 30 yards from the Catania goal for a handball given away by Lodi for a handball. Pirlo takes quickly at the second attempts and plays a pass to Bonnuci, again striding forward, but his effort is poor and tumbles wide of the far post.
  • 28'
Catania push forward, somewhat menacingly, as Lodi picks up the ball in the middle of the park. He drives at goal from 25 yards, but his effort is always curling wide, with Buffon not panicking as he side steps across the six yard box.
  • 26'
At the other end, Lichtsteiner marauds up field once again and latches on to Pogba's flick. The Swiss defender, rather than looking to pick out a teammate, goes for goal himself and drags his left footed effort wide of the near post. Poor decision making from the burly full back.
  • 25'
Catania have a good opportunity to hold onto the ball as Bellusci stands over the ball just inside his half. However, rather than garner some vital possession, he looks to pick out Izco, only to see the ball drift out for a goal kick.
  • 23'
Vucinic wins his his side a free kick on the left of the 18 yard box after being fouled. Pirlo delivers, but it's met by Bellusci who heads out for a throw in.
  • 21'
Juventus are dominating possession at the moment, but Catania are sitting deep and soaking up the pressure impressively. The hosts just can't quite work the opening at the moment.
  • 19'
My word, the entire Juventus team are camped in the Catania half for the last spell of attacking play. Chiellini plays into Bonucci around the halfway line, but the defender panics and puts his long punt up field out for a goal kick.
  • 17'
Gomez this time attempts a Vucinic-esque effort on goal as he cuts onto his right foot. 25 yards from goal, however, and it will take something special to beat Buffon from distance and despite the Juventus 'keeper initially spilling, he gathers at the second opportunity and holds well.
  • 16'
Chance for Juventus! Vucinic launches a stinging effort from 20 yards out, destined for the bottom corner. Andujar, to his credit, gets down well and turns his shot around the post. Superb save from the Catania 'keeper and the first real chance of the encounter.
  • 15'
I say that, Catania have possession in the Juventus half as it's brought to my attention that the visitors have won just twice - twice - in Turin in the past. It's going to be a tough ask to make that a third today.
  • 13'
Barzagli, of all people, strides into the Catania half unopposed. He launches a powerful drive from 25 yards, but it's a typical defender strike and the ball flies over for a goal kick. Juventus are continuously turning the screw here, however, and it's surely a matter of time before they make their dominance count.
  • 11'
Lichtsteiner, characteristically, forces his way forward and after playing neat one-two with Giovinco, Catania can clear. Juventus pick up the ball once again and come back at the visitors. A ferocious start for the hosts here, but lacking the killer touch in the opening exchanges.
  • 9'
Gomez pushes down the right for the visitors, but he's met by Chiellini. The Juventus man makes the challenge on the Catania midfielder and wins his side a throw in, much to the dismay of the Argentine.
  • 8'
Almiron concedes a free kick for a foul on Giovinco. Pirlo whips towards the back post and Chiellini in particular. However, the Juventus man can quite leap high enough to connect, and with Pogba not on his days, the ball bounces out for a Catania goal kick.
  • 7'
Asamoah and Pogba link up well in the middle of the park before releasing the unmarked Pirlo. The divine beard lofts a ball towards Vucinic, but after Catania can clear, Giovinco is penalised for a foul on Alvarez. Early warning signs here.
  • 5'
Catania are sitting very deep at the moment: parking the bus early on, if you will. Juventus comfortable in possession as they look to break to deadlock early on.
  • 3'
Early corner for Juventus as Marchisio forces Alavrez into action. Pirlo swings in for Pogba, but Catania can clear. The hosts continue to pressure, before the visitors punt away from danger.
  • 2'
Frantic start from both sides, with neither Juventus nor Catania allowing their counterparts to settle early on.
  • 1'
Game underway in a beautifully sunny Turin with Catania kick us off.
  • And the two teams are on their way out at the Juventus Stadium.
  • Factor in that Juventus are undefeated in their last seven meetings with Catania and it doesn't look promising for today's visitors. All that could change, however, with kick off just 10 minutes away.
  • Unfortunately for Catania fans, it doesn't look hopeful. The Rossazzurri have recorded just three wins on the road this season.
  • And what's this I hear? You want some pre-match stats to wt your appetite ahead of kick off? Well, Juventus have lost just twice at home in 14 encounters this season - Inter and Sampdoria the only two teams to walk away from the Juventus Stadium with maximum points. Will eighth placed Catania become the third?
  • We're a little over 15 minutes away from kick off and a win for Juventus will see them, at least, keep a six point gap between themselves and second placed Napoli. It could well extend to nine, should the Partenopei fail to overcome Chievo, also kicking off at 2pm.
  • And on the bench for Rolando Maran's side: Potenza, Frison, Barrientos, Augustyn, Cani, Sciacca, Keko, Ricchiuti, Salifu, Rolin, Terracciano, Doukara.
  • Meanwhile, visitors Catania line up as follows: Andujar, Bellusci, Spolli, Alvarez, Izco, Almiron, Biagianti, Lodi, Marchese, Castro, Gomez
  • And on the bench for Antonio Conte's side: Storari, Rubinho, De Ceglie, Peluso, Marrone, Padoin, Giaccherini, Isla, Quagliarella, Matri, Anelka
  • For hosts Juventus, their starting XI is: Buffon, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini, Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Pirlo, Marchisio, Asamoah, Giovinco, Vucinic
