BORUSSIA MONCHENGLADBACH 1-0 AUGSBURG
Borussia Monchengladbach are back en route to Europe after recording a 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Augsburg at the Borussia Park.
In the 26th minute, Kevin Vogt wandered off the pitch after bringing down Peniel Mlapa within the area, and Fohlen skipper Filip Daems stepped up to coolly slot home the penalty.
The hosts carved out several chances during the rest of the match, but promising attempts by Mlapa and Mike Hanke were denied by the post.
Altogether, Lucien Favre's men were the dominant side throughout the encounter and deserved to keep all three points at home, as they move up to sixth.
Augsburg, meanwhile, still occupy the relegation-play-off spot.
HAMBURG 2-1 FORTUNA DUSSELDORF
Thanks to a Raphael van der Vaart double, Hamburg were able to see off Fortuna Dusseldorf 2-1 at the Imtech Arena.
The hosts took the lead in the 13th minute when Marcel Janssen found Van der Vaart with his cross, enabling the Oranje star to head home.
Shortly after, Van der Vaart marked his double by impressively rounding two Dusseldorf defenders before nutmegging Fabian Giefer.
Fortuna got their consolation goal towards the end of the match, however, when Dani Schahin headed the ball in after an accurately placed cross by Alex Bellinghausen.
Thorsten Fink's men now sit eighth, one point behind an Europa League qualification spot, while Dusseldorf remain 15th.
EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 1-0 SCHALKE
Eintracht Frankfurt punished wasteful Schalke with a 1-0 victory at the Commerzbank Arena.
Die Knappen had their huge chance to get ahead in the 24th minute when Stefan Aigner blocked a free kick with his hand within the penalty area.
Michel Bastos stepped up to take the resulting spot-kick, but Oka Nikolov correctly guessed the upper right corner, much to the disappointment of the Frenchman.
The deadlock was broken by the home team on the stroke of half-time, when Marco Russ headed home an indirect set piece provided by 17-year-old Bundesliga debutant Marc Stendera.
Jens Keller's men now need to avoid more losses in order to keep their fourth position, as even eighth-placed Hamburg could leapfrog them next matchday.
BAYER LEVERKUSEN 5-0 HOFFENHEIM
Doubles by Stefan Kiessling and Andre Schurrle ensured Bayer Leverkusen a crushing 5-0 triumph over highly-endangered Hoffenheim at the BayArena.
After 15 minutes played, Andre Schurrle found Stefan Kiessling with his cross lurking near the far post, and the striker calmly tapped home.
Then, halfway into the second half, Schurrle was given all the time in the world to take measure from range to brilliantly strike the ball into the target.
Kiessling later on marked his double via a header after a Daniel Carvajal cross and, only moments later, Schurrle marked his second one as well from near the spot kick.
Finally, Stefan Reinartz prevailed against a Dusseldorf defender to round off the score, which cements die Werkself's third place.
WERDER BREMEN 0-3 WOLFSBURG
Wolfsburg comfortably brushed aside Werder Bremen with a 3-0 win at the Weserstadion.
Merely 10 minutes into the match, youngster Maximilian Arnold blasted a ferocious effort from range into the net to start things off.
In the 27th minute, Vierinha sent Ivica Olic running with a through-ball, and the experienced attacker excellently outplayed Sebastian Mielitz before scoring.
Brazilian playmaker Diego then wrapped up the evening's result in the 66th minute via a penalty.
Die Wolfe edge closer to a mid-table position, while Werder Bremen are only five points clear from a relegation-play-off spot.

Stuttgart disposed Freiburg with a 2-1 win at the Mercedes Benz Arena on Sunday.
The hosts opened scoring in the 33rd minute, when Martin Harnik nicely delivered the ball to Christian Gentner, who was anticipating the cross and headed in.
And a defending mistake by the Breisgau side gave Vedad Ibisevic the opportunity to double the score, as he burst into the penalty area to put the ball past Oliver Baumann.
However, Bruno Labbadia's men were not able to keep a clean sheet, as an excellent cross in the 88th minute led to Ivan Santini bagging the consolation for the visitors.
With the defeat, Freiburg missed their chance to get past Schalke on fourth, while Stuttgart jump to 10th.
NURNBERG 0-1 GREUTHER FURTH
In the Frankenderby, relegation-doomed Greuther Furth triumphed over Nurnberg with a 1-0 away victory at the Grundig Stadion.
Johannes Geis grabbed his first Bundesliga goal in the 26th minute, as the youngster steered a stunning shot from 25 yards out into the back of Raphael Schafer's net to put his team in the lead.
Der Club were pushing for the late equaliser as the match neared its conclusion, but die Kleeblatter put in a disciplined performance to deny Nurnberg.
Nurnberg remain 12th after the defeat, while Frank Kramer's men remain glued to the bottom of the table, despite an impressive showing.
