    Salvatore Sirigu

A barrage of crosses came into the Italian’s penalty box but he was largely well protected by his defence and was able to keep a 21st cleansheet of the season with relative serenity. Made comfortable saves from Digard and Anin.

  • Thiago Silva

    Thiago Silva

Under a bombardment of crosses from the visiting side, the Brazilian defender always seemed to be on hand to make a vital clearance with either his hands or feet. In the second half he charge forward with grace and precision, even having an outrageous effort disallowed for having crossed the bye-line as he somehow spun it into the net.

  • Mamadou Sakho

    Mamadou Sakho

Made a number of thunderous challenges in the heart of the PSG defence but was prone to the occasional lapse in concentration that invited pressure. Won a great deal in the air.

  • Maxwell

    Maxwell

Another steady performance from the veteran Brazilian left-back, who has rarely given PSG a poor performance. Had a terrific late shot turned over the top by Delle in an otherwise unspectacular showing.

  • Gregory van der Wiel

    Gregory van der Wiel

Has improved in recent times after a sluggish start in Paris and continued his positive trend in this encounter, making some important tackles challenging back. Did not contribute particularly to PSG's attacking efforts, which was surprising.

  • Jérémy Menez

    Jérémy Menez

Opened the scoring with a relatively simple finish early in the match. Had another good chance blocked by Ospina. The ex-Roma man linked well with his cohorts in an effervescent performance but had a tendency to dwell too long on the ball and therefore allowing chances to pass.

  • Blaise Matuidi

    3.50

    Blaise Matuidi

Once again the busiest player on the field, bustling forward to support the attack and harrying the Nice midfield at every opportunity. Played a lovely one-two with Ibrahimovic to help create the third goal.

  • Marco Verratti
    3
    1
    2.50

    Marco Verratti

Made a vital challenge to rob the ball in the move that created the opening goal for Menez. Busied himself well in the heart of the field without making the kind of slack errors that Ancelotti wants him to cut out and showed flashes of real incision with his forward passing.

  • Javier Pastore

    4.00

    Javier Pastore

Made a very positive start to the match by fashioning an opening from which Ibrahimovic hit the post and then played the key role in the opening goal by showing unselfishness to set up Menez. Was shrugged off the ball too easily at times once again but this was a much-improved showing.

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Linked well with those around him and was central to the move that led to Menez’s opening goal. Another clever header to his strike partner should have brought with it a second goal. Slammed home a penalty in the second half and then created Chantome's strike at the death.

  • Ezequiel Lavezzi
    3
    1
    2.50

    Ezequiel Lavezzi

Could not be faulted for his industry or desire but ‘El Pocho’ was unable to get possession in areas in which he could do damage. On the one occasion he did break with real promise, he was crudely hacked by Digard.

Substitutions

Introduced late on and scored from close range.

Given only the last four minutes.

  • D. Ospina

    D. Ospina

A nightmare evening for the Colombia international goalkeeper. Was caught out on the opening goal but the nadir came when he made the mistake of trying to dribble from his goal midway through the second half. Lavezzi pinched the ball and he was dismissed for his crude attempt to rescue the situation.

  • Renato Civelli

    1
    1.50

    Renato Civelli

Struggled against the physical strength of Ibrahimovic defensively but the beanpole centre-back was a major threat from set-pieces in the opposing box and went close on several occasions.

  • T. Kolodziejczak

    2.00

    T. Kolodziejczak

The former Lyon youth raided forward with regularity in the early stages of this encounter and went close to striking a levelling goal with an angled shot that was just touched wide by Sirigu. At times found it difficult to pin down Pastore, who often played in a narrow position.

  • Nemanja Pejcinovic

    Nemanja Pejcinovic

Really suffered at the hands of Ibrahimovic, who manage to drift in behind him on several occasions to pose real problems. Has recently come back from injury and did not look up to speed early in this encounter but made some important recovery challenges as Nice got stretched late on.

  • Romain Genevois
    0
    1
    2.00

    Romain Genevois

Was not particularly forthright in terms of his desire to push on an threaten the PSG defence offensively but on the flip side he did fairly well to limit the damage that Lavezzi could cause going the other way.

  • Didier Digard
    0
    1
    2.50

    Didier Digard

A former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, he was typically robust and combative on his return to Parc des Princes. His set-pieces were an important threat for Nice but none were of the highest quality. Was the only player on his side to really threaten to pick the hosts apart.

  • Mahamane El Hadji Traoré

    1.00

    Mahamane El Hadji Traoré

Played some clever football in the position just behind Cvitanich but did not have enough craft to undo the solid PSG defence. Withdrawn early in the second period, having seemingly picked up a knock.

  • Jérémy Pied
    0
    1
    2.00

    Jérémy Pied

Struggled to get involved in this encounter at times, the young Lyon man was peripheral to his side’s work and could not produce the kind of quality deliveries that Cvitanich required when he did get into position. Withdrawn after Ospina was dismissed.

  • Kevin Anin
    0
    1
    2.50

    Kevin Anin

Continues to enjoy a strong second half to the campaign as he showed his physicality on the defensive end on several occasions. Worked exceptionally hard but there was only so much he could do as PSG pushed regularly forward.

  • Luigi Bruins
    0
    1
    2.00

    Luigi Bruins

Handed a rare start on the left of the midfield due to a suspension to Eric Bautheac yet showed some promise. Tested countryman Van der Wiel on occasion without being able to make a decisive contribution. Faded after the break.

  • Darío Cvitanich
    1
    1
    1.50

    Darío Cvitanich

Nice’s ace goalscorer has been courted by many clubs around Europe but was unable to make a telling contribution in this encounter as he was starved of service.

Substitutions

  • Joris Delle

    1
    2.50

    Joris Delle

Replaced Pied following Ospina’s dismissal and was forced to pick the ball out of the net immediately as Ibrahimovic beat him from the spot. Made several good saves thereafter.

  • Fabrice Abriel

    Fabrice Abriel

Came off the bench to replace the injured Traore but failed to have any impact on the game.

    Stéphane Bahoken

    Replaced Bruins but was anonymous.
