Player Ratings: Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 Lille

Goal.com was on hand to judge both sides at Parc des Princes, where the hosts rode their luck to win by an Aurelien Chedjou own goal

  • Salvatore Sirigu

    Salvatore Sirigu

Became a record breaker tonight as he surpassed Bernard Lama’s mark of 698 minutes without conceding a Ligue 1 goal for his club. Was not made to work particularly hard, though he did make a couple of strong saves from Payet.

  • Mamadou Sakho

    Mamadou Sakho

Made a couple of key interceptions in and around the box, using his head rather than his physical attributes to break up the danger. Nevertheless, there were some moments of danger that seemed to emanate from a lack of understanding.

  • Maxwell

    0

    Maxwell

Ventured forward extremely rarely after a busy week for his veteran legs, yet he stuck to his defensive task well. Rodelin did escape him to create a chance for Payet late on, but this was an exception.

  • Sylvain Armand

    3.00

    Sylvain Armand

Asked to play in a central defensive role because of injuries to Alex, Thiago Silva and Zoumana Camara. The veteran is perhaps the least glamorous name in the PSG side, but he is the only one to have tasted Ligue 1 success and used his experience well.

  • Christophe Jallet

    Christophe Jallet

In the early stages of the match it seemed he was going to get the best of the battle down the right, but come full-time he had been outplayed by Digne down this channel. Allowed too many dangerous crosses to come into the box.

  • Jérémy Menez
    0

    2.50

    Jérémy Menez

Was given a drifting role in this encounter, and was moderately successful in his efforts, even if he continued to be extremely frustrating with his decision making at times. Little surprise he was replaced by Pastore.

  • Blaise Matuidi

    Blaise Matuidi

A vital platform from which PSG could build. Once again won a great amount of possession due to his tireless pressing and remains one of his side’s most influential players.

  • Thiago Motta

    2.50

    Thiago Motta

Booked for an embarrassing dive after 17 minutes, having done well to start the dangerous move. Played quite well before being replaced 10 minutes into the second half clutching his hamstring.

  • Lucas

    3.00

    Lucas

Continues to look a formidable signing for PSG in just his third league game with the club. Quick, direct, strong and confident, he looks a formidable force for the capital side. After an outstanding start to the game, he drifted towards the periphery, though his cameos were always exciting when he was involved. Went off to great acclaim.

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic
    0

    2.00

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Linked play nicely with Lucas and the other midfield players at times, but was peripheral to his side for periods too. Was also the focal point of PSG’s most dangerous offensive moments, and hit the post in the first half. His finishing was off key on the whole, though.

  • Ezequiel Lavezzi
    0
    0
    2.50

    Ezequiel Lavezzi

Constantly threatened to break the Lille offside trap as he played on the man in the early stages of the match, but decreased in effectiveness as time wore on. Had a second half chance blocked by a fine last-ditch challenge.

Substitutions

Given the last 15 minutes as PSG shut up shop.

  • Marco Verratti

    Marco Verratti

Replaced the injured Thiago Motta. Managed to pick up his eighth yellow card of the season – a league high tally.

  • Javier Pastore

    Javier Pastore

Replaced Menez with 65 minutes gone. Drew one good save from Elana.

  • Steeve Elana

    1.50

    Steeve Elana

Must have part of the blame apportioned to him for the decisive goal, although misfortune should also take a fair slice of the blame. Did not have a great deal to do, but did get stuck under a couple of crosses in a worrying fashion.

  • Lucas Digne
    0
    0
    2.50

    Lucas Digne

The young left-back is arguably the most promising teenager in France, yet he was given a really tough test by Lucas, who seemed to have his number throughout. Was made to look a little naïve at times, although some good defending shut out Ibrahimovic in some dangerous situations. His crossing was excellent, however.

  • Aurélien Chedjou Fongang
    0
    0
    4.00

    Aurélien Chedjou Fongang

Will be remembered as the man whose own goal won this match for PSG, but that is undeserved, partly because he was incredibly unfortunate with that moment, and secondly because he was so stoic otherwise. This was Chedjou back to his best.

  • Djibril Sidibé
    0
    0
    2.50

    Djibril Sidibé

When he forayed forward, he did so with confidence, on one occasion weaving past a handful of players in the opposing half. The youngster was solid down the left flank, although PSG did not target this area significantly.

  • Marko Basa
    0
    0
    2.50

    Marko Basa

Seemed to enjoy the challenge of facing up against Ibrahimovic and was not slow to give the Swede some lip after one exchange in the first half. Was not entirely assured, though, and a weak header resulted in Ibra hitting the post moments later. Did make a vital block on Lavezzi after the break.

  • Florent Balmont
    0
    0
    2.50

    Florent Balmont

Thrust back into the first-team picture amidst an injury problem for influential captain Rio Mavuba, but does not look the same player who was such a vital figure as the club won the league two seasons ago. Does not have the same energy, and that was evident against such composed opponents.

  • Idrissa Gueye
    0
    0
    2.50

    Idrissa Gueye

Featured in a holding role just in front of the defence and held the shape well. However, the midfielder was not so clever when he was in possession, and he allowed the pressure to mount on his side with some wayward passing.

  • Marvin Martin
    0
    0
    2.00

    Marvin Martin

Continues to have a frustrating season with his new club, for whom he has yet to find a league goal. Did flash a first-half shot just wide, but was largely an anonymous presence as Lille struggled to retain possession long enough to use his talents. Was withdrawn with 10 minutes gone in the second half.

  • Dimitri Payet
    0
    0
    3.50

    Dimitri Payet

Has been in formidable form in recent weeks, but might have done better on the half-hour mark when he had a shot high of the target when there were options waiting to his left in more favourable positions. Did look his side’s most promising forward player, though.

  • R. Rodelin
    0
    0
    2.50

    R. Rodelin

Denied a perfectly just goal in the first half when he seemed to have headed his side in front. Was forced to do a good deal of defending from the wide areas he patrolled and was at least prepared to put himself about in the opposite end of the field to exert pressure onto PSG. One fine run towards the end nearly brought a leveller.

  • Nolan Roux
    0
    0
    2.00

    Nolan Roux

Played a lone role in attack and saw very little of the ball, though when he was in possession, he rarely wasted it and was able to bring others into play expertly. Was asked to perform what was an impossible task, and for periods he was invisible. Replaced by Tulio.

Substitutions

  • Benoit Pedretti

    Benoit Pedretti

Came on early in the second period, and his most memorable moment was a crude foul on Lucas that earned him a yellow card.

  • De Melo

    De Melo

Arrived midway through the second half in place of Roux and nearly snatched a point for his side with a shot off the post.

  • Gianni Bruno

    Gianni Bruno

    Played the last 10 minutes.
