Qatar coach Sebastiao Lazaroni has reminded his squad to remain vigilant and not to underestimate Indonesia even though his team is favoured to win this match. Al Sadd midfielder Wesam Rizik could drop out of the side which won in Jakarta, after being absent from training during the week with injury. Several players who missed the last match have been recalled by Lazaroni, such as Al Gharafa midfielder Lawrence Quaye.

Meanwhile in Indonesia's preparation, all players are in good physical condition after being in a training camp for several weeks and the only injured party is goalkeeper I Made Wirawan, while Markus Horison has been dropped. Coach Wim Rijsbergen is also waiting on the status of two naturalised players, Greg Nwokolo and Victor Igbonefo, because he hopes that they can be included immediately to strengthen the team.
