Player Ratings: Swansea 4-4 Wolves

The away side secured only their third point of Terry Connor's time in charge, with a Matt Jarvis double, and goals from Fletcher and Edwards capping off a dramatic comeback

    Michel Vorm

Will not know what hit him. Cruising in the opening 15 minutes, the Dutch goalkeeper was made to pay the price for a lax performance given by the defence in front of him, and could not be held accountable for any of the goals.

  • Ashley Williams

Ashley Williams Flop of the Match

Started the game in a familiarly confident mood, but after going 4-1 up the Swans’ backline seemingly went to sleep, with Williams allowing the Wolves midfield too much time on the ball and their strikers too much room to threaten.

    Steven Caulker

In much a similar vein to his defensive partner, the on-loan Tottenham man’s afternoon began well, but was left stunned by the visitors’ remarkable comeback which facilitated by his out-of-sorts defending.

  • Garry Monk

    Garry Monk

The full-back was guilty in the first-half of sloppy play, and that was in the first half when his side were cruising. Needless to say he did not improve in the second.

    Leon Britton

Will be disappointed to have come so unstuck in the second half, with Wolves’ bullish display in the final 45 easily disrupting the midfielder’s passing game.

  • Orlandi

    Orlandi

A fine display from the full-back on his inclusion in the side in place of Neil Taylor. The Spaniard rose well to guide his header past De Vries to open the scoring, and then showed great skill to beat two Wolves defenders before teeing up Dyer for his goal. Replaced at half-time by Taylor due to a calf injury.

    Scott Sinclair

Whipped in a wonderful ball for Orlandi to give his side the lead within the opening minute of the game, and continued to provide a threat down the left-hand flank throughout.

  • Nathan Dyer

    Nathan Dyer

The 24-year-old was again a key part of the hosts' fluid play, and did well to head home Orlandi’s ball to make the score 3-0, before the former Southampton man turned provider for striker Danny Graham.

  • Joe Allen

    Joe Allen

Did well in the opening stages and showed real attacking intent, with his first foray forward resulting in his side going 2-0 up. Yet after the first-half goalfest, the Welshman did not show as much quality in the second 45 minutes.

  • Gylfi Sigurdsson

    Gylfi Sigurdsson

He may not have grabbed the headlines as he has done in recent weeks, but the on-loan Hoffenheim man again displayed the quality and poise which has a number of Premier League clubs chasing his signature. The midfielder found Allen’s run for his side’s second, before rattling the post himself early in the second half.

  • Danny Graham

    Danny Graham

A solid showing from the former Watford man, who showed strong build-up play when holding up the ball for Swansea’s second goal of the afternoon, and an eye for a finish after he controlled Dyer’s cross for his side’s fourth. Replaced by Luke Moore.

    Neil Taylor

Came on for the second 45 in place of the injured Orlandi, and must not have known what hit him as he saw his side throw away a 4-2 lead.

Came on in place of Graham late in the game.

    Dorus De Vries

Was not particularly at fault for any of the goals, but it was another depressing day between the sticks for the Dutchman.

    Richard Stearman

Was left wanting at the back for Orlandi’s opener with the Spaniard afforded the freedom of the opposition box, and was unable to get back in time to prevent Joe Allen from doubling Swansea’s lead, instead just deflecting the Welshman’s shot beyond De Vries.

  • Stephen Ward

    Stephen Ward

Recovered from a slow start to the game, but was still troubled by Dyer down the flank.

    Christophe Berra

Allowed Danny Graham too much room to hold the ball up for Swansea’s second, and struggled with the former Watford man throughout, with it clear to see why Wolves’ fate this season has already been sealed.

    Kevin Foley

Allowed Sinclair far too much room in the opening minute to cross for Orlandi’s opener, and played his part in all-round poor defensive performance.

    David Edwards

Anonymous in the early stages of the game, the Welshman capped a return to his homeland with a well-taken goal to in the second half before finding Jarvis to round off a dramatic comeback.

    Michael Kightly

The 26-year-old has routinely been a standout performer for Wolves this season, and whilst it seemed as if it would not be his afternoon after a number of attempts just failed to find their target, the wideman was on hand to tee up Edwards with a superb ball to give his side hope at 4-3. He will be disappointed not to have converted a late chance which could have sealed all three points however.

    Karl Henry

Much like his team-mates, the midfielder failed to get going in the first half, but was much more productive in the second. His quickly taken free-kick started the move for his side’s third goal, while his presence in the centre of the park helped to break down the home side’s possession play.

  • Matthew Jarvis

Matthew Jarvis Top of the Match

Began in lively fashion but initially struggled to get the better of the Swansea defence. However, was on hand to control Doyle’s cross well before cutting in and firing across goal with his right foot to give his side a smidgen of hope at half-time, which they truly capitalised on in the second 45, with Jarvis on hand to level the scores at 4-4. Replaced after by Hunt with 20 minutes left to play.

  • Steven Fletcher

    Steven Fletcher

The obvious quality in a side which is found lacking in pretty much every other department, the Scotland international rose well to nod home Doyle’s cross, before bagging a vital assist of his own after finding Jarvis with a first-time cross to pull Wolves level. Replaced by Ebanks-Blake with 10 minutes remaining.

  • Kevin Doyle

    Kevin Doyle

Restored to the starting XI in place of the injured David Davis, the striker kick-started his side’s revival with some impressive build-up play. He may not have been amongst the goals, but his cross from the left-hand side found Fletcher to score before he set up Jarvis just before half-time.

Was given a late run-out by Terry Connor in place of Fletcher.
