Player Ratings: Bolton 0-0 Arsenal

Made a delightful contribution early on with a very stylish flick that set up striker Ngog, with the Frenchman unfortunately not getting his subsequent shot on target. The full-back did well to get high up the pitch and caused trouble Vermaelen frequently, but wasn’t as effective in keeping the Belgian at bay at the other end, allowing his opposite number too many opportunities to cross.

Was forced into action on numerous occasions by the Arsenal attackers, mostly keeping them out until the end to earn his side a clean-sheet.

Was taunted for much of the game by Oxlade-Chamberlain’s raw pace and often lost out to the speed of the youngster, allowing him to carry on Arsenal’s attacks.

Was tested regularly by Arsenal as they attacked frequently through the game and had the former Middlesbrough man tackling at full strength whilst also clearing the lines thoroughly.

A strong showing saw the midfielder help keep Ramsey and Arteta from breaking through on goal or helping out Van Persie to often.

Not the best of efforts from the winger who is so usually active down his flank, but his efforts could not conjure anything for his team and looked quite lacking in his delivery.

A resilient performance from the winger had the player eke out every bit of energy he could muster, but it proved fruitless in the end besides his efforts at the back.

A quite display from the midfielder who couldn’t surprise against big opposition again and did little to help Bolton get another. Could have made the difference at the death, bit was kept out by Szczesny to keep the game equal.

Like Muamba had a great game keeping the Arsenal attackers out of the danger zone, tackling productively and passing the ball out of trouble.

The former Liverpool man made a very encouraging start to the game, cruelly missing out twice thanks to good ‘keeping and the slightest lack of accuracy after testing Szczesny twice in a matter of minutes.

Was only forced into action the one time in the first 45 minutes thanks to Ngog’s blasted effort at the Pole that saved in a commanding manner. The French striker almost beat the Gunners’ stopper some minutes later, but the Bolton man lacked accuracy by the millimetre and would have scored with Szczesny beaten. Saved from Mark Davies at the death to stop Bolton taking a cheeky victory at the end.

Looked remarkably strong and fit considering his four months out of action and paced up and down the right flank all night, winning corners and keeping Petrov from crossing as much as possible.

Not a bad display from the German who cleared the lines effectively on a regular basis with powerful headers and strong boots up the pitch.

The Belgian, like Steinsson looked a better player when travelling up the flank as opposed to defending his goal, crossing well on occasion and almost set up an early opener for Arsenal, but Van Persie couldn’t get his header past the defender on the line.

The Frenchman was often left dazed by David Ngog’s swift movement and on one occasion his tame defending almost lead to a Bolton opener after his fellow countryman turned him easily to shoot at goal. However, he tackled strongly and cleared effectively.

The Spaniard was regularly involved in Arsenal’s attacks and tracked back when required to help out.

Another very promising display from the Arsenal youngster whose energy flowed during his entire time on the pitch, racing down his wing almost effortlessly at times. The only thing missing was that killer ball that in time the 18-year-old will no doubt learn to induce into his game.

Had an early chance with a tame effort after being put through on goal, but the ball was just too far ahead and his sliding shot was collected easily by Bogdan. In the middle his passing was timely, but was sometimes a little hasty and played the ball without thinking causing his side to lose possession from time to time.

A subtle display from the midfielder who passed well and moved efficiently, doing his job to a reasonable standard.

Always an active member of the Arsenal outfit, the England international ran himself into the ground, but rarely was there an end product from the young player, when he did get the ball to a team-mate it was usually too late after holding onto it for too long.
