  • FULL TIME! Germany win 4-0 thanks to braces by Klose and Mueller.
  • 90' + 2'
Oezil's free kick is deflected out for a corner, after which Kazakhstan have a free kick. We're seconds away from the final whistle...
  • 90' + 1'
Khedira surges forward again, and this time wins a free kick from the edge of his penalty area. Two minutes to be added now...
  • 90'
Goetze has a go from the edge of the penalty area, but fails to get his foot around the ball and Loria makes a comfortable save.
  • 89'
And just like that, Klose gets his brace! Kroos plays over the top to Klose, and chaos ensues for the visitors. Khedira eventually is played in, and he unselfishly squares for Klose who taps in from close range. The Bayern man is now seven goals from Gerd Mueller's record...
  • 88'
    Goal Miroslav Klose
  • 88'
  • 84'
Germany still pressing for a fourth goal, but lack solidity in the centre behind the strikers. Goetze and Oezil are playing wide in a 4-4-2; there just isn't enough in the hole behind Gomez and Klose.
  • 82'
KHEDIRA! Oh, what a miss! Oezil sends in another perfect cross, but his Real Madrid teammate fails to head the ball on goal from six yards.
  • 81'
    SubstitutionKazbek Geteriyev Sergei Ostapenko
  • 81'
Here's a final substitution for Kazakhstan: Geteriyev is off and Sergei Ostapenko comes on.
  • 80'
Great slalom run by Lahm who beats two defenders before losing his balance as he shoots into Loria's arms. Irismetov lands on his ankle, but the Germany skipper appears to have escaped with minimal damage as he takes to his feet.
  • 79'
KLOSE! Oh, that should have been 4-0! Goetze brilliantly jinks his way into the right side of the penalty area and squares for Klose at the edge of the penalty area. The veteran can't quite make space to shoot!
  • 78'
    SubstitutionThomas Müller Mario Götze
  • 77'
    SubstitutionBastian Schweinsteiger Toni Kroos
  • 77'
Substitutions for Germany now: Mueller and Schweinsteiger are off, replaced by Toni Kroos and Mario Goetze.
  • 74'
Kukeyev again beats Meretsacker for pace and wants a penalty! But none is forthcoming.. Replays show the Kazakh attacker had little reason to go to ground, but Mertesacker ought to have been first to the ball.
  • 72'
Schweinsteiger fails to reach Oezil with a ball up the left side and hears whistles from the fans. The Bayern man's service has not been very impressive tonight.
  • 71'
KUKEYEV HITS THE POST! The substitute has been preying on Mertesacker since his introduction, and again he finds himself left of the centre. He fires a powerful effort towards the left post, and it rebounds out for a goal kick!
  • 70'
Oezil tries a volley, but Konysbaev comes in behind him to put him off balance; the shot ends up rolling slowly into Loria's hands. The playmaker appears to have taken a bit of a knock, but seems like he will be fit to continue.
  • 68'
GOMEZ! Oh, wide! Lahm sends in an excellent ball which the substitute does well to redirect low, but wide.
  • 67'
Here's another chance for Kazakhstan! Mertesacker was beaten for pace, but his mistake went unpunished
  • 65'
    SubstitutionLukas Podolski M. Gómez
  • 65'
Here's Loew's first substitution for Germany - Mario Gomez replaces Podolski; apparently, the hosts will adopt a 4-4-2 formation with the newcomer partnering Klose in attack.
  • 63'
Good work by Loria, who was quick off his line to claim the ball ahead of Khedira.
  • 60'
    SubstitutionAzat Nurgaliyev Zhambyl Kukeyev
  • 60'
Here's the next substitution for Kazakhstan: Zhambyl Kukeyev replaces Nurgaliyev.
  • 59'
Oh, here's a chance for Khizhnichenko! But he never really troubled Neuer with a finish that was rather weak. Mertesacker did well to close down the attacker, but Khizhnichenko will be kicking himself for not striking the ball with more power.
  • 57'
Very clever play as Mueller ran away from goal to collect the ball, then played it behind him to Khedira. The Real Madrid midfielder couldn't quite catch up to the ball before it crossed the byline, however.
  • 54'
Nurgaliev tries to catch Neuer off his line, but the Kazakh attacker sends his shot well over the bar for a goal kick.
  • 51'
Klose is in again...but Podolski's ball is behind the veteran striker!
  • 49'
Ooh, that nearly was a chance for Klose! Aogo did well to win the ball and play through to the striker, who had the ball taken off his feet at the last minute for a corner.
  • 48'
Konysbaev is free on the right and whips in a cross, but no Kazakh forward is available to attack the ball; Mertesacker passes to Badstuber, who clears quite comfortably.
  • 47'
There is a substitution for Kazakhstan: for Zhumaskaliyev, Maxat Baizhanov comes in.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionNurbol Zhumaskaliyev Maksat Baizhanov
  • 46'
    And the second half begins!
  • Kazakhstan never had high hopes of taking a point from tonight's match, but will be disappointed to have fallen behind so early. Full credit to the Germans, who have been clinical and dominant throughout the match thus far - it will be interesting to see if youngsters such as Mario Goetze, Andre Schuerrle and Sven Bender will have a chance to prove themselves after the break. I'll be back in 15 minutes to keep you up-to-date...
  • 45'
No stoppage time is added and it's HALF TIME!
  • 44'
    Goal Thomas Müller
  • 44'
Poor defending from the visitors as the youngster puts away his second goal of the evening. Oezil swings in a perfect ball, and the entire Kazakh defence continues to run forward expecting offside. No fewer than three defenders had played Mueller onside; the winger was able to take the ball off his chest and finish easily from close range.
  • 43'
    TOOOOOOR MUELLER! 3-0 to Germany!
  • 40'
Far, far too casual by Podolski after excellent work by Oezil. The Madrid man had done all the hard work to set up his teammate, but Podolski passed back when he ought to have shot. The ball is behind Oezil and is cleared.
  • 38'
An excellent through ball splits the Kazakh defence and Mueller is in a foot race with Loria...the Goalkeeper does well, though, and clears for a throw-in.
  • 37'
Good work from Podolski up the left as he swings in a cross, but Irismetov is able to clear for a corner.
  • 35'
Irismetov is whistled for a foul on Mueller on the right flank, and after his earlier booking, the Kazakh man must now be on thin ice. Oezil swings in a dangerous free kick, but Loria makes a good punch clearance.
  • 34'
Here's a speculative shot from Chichulin - the right back has a go from 25 yards and Neuer makes a catch save, his first of the game.
  • 32'
Podolski...Good save! Klose finds Khedira, who plays in Podolski. The Koeln man appears undecided as to whether to pass or cross, and has his effort saved by Loria.
  • 29'
KLOSE! Two GREAT stops by Loria! Abdulin fails to clear, and the ball is cut back to Klose a yard away from goal. The striker fires, but Loria dives to make a block, and sticks out his leg to save Klose's follow-up.
  • 28'
That was a bit careless from the Germans; Khedira's pass out of the back is intercepted, and Aogo had gone forward to leave Konysbaev all on his own on the right. The winger cuts in and looks to cross, but Badstuber makes a good block.
  • 27'
Oezil's inswinger is attacked by Mueller, whose glancing header is a beauty. Clinical finishing from the Bayern man.
  • 26'
  • 25'
    Yellow Card Farkhadbek Irismetov
  • 25'
    Goal Thomas Müller
  • 25'
Great play by Mueller and Lahm, who earns a free kick from Irismetov just outside the penalty area on the right. The Kazakhstan left back earns a booking for his efforts...
  • 22'
That was nearly a chance for Khizhnichenko! The 19-year old forward has plenty of ground to make up as he chases down a through ball, but Mertesacker is behind the pace. The German is just barely able to send the ball back to Neuer.
  • 20'
Good spell of possession from the visitors before Oezil takes the ball away with apparent ease. The playmaker is quick to see Klose's run and he plays a fine ball to the Bayern man, who is free of the centre backs. His first touch is slightly too heavy and the ball is claimed by Loria.
  • 18'
Aogo makes a good overlapping run for the umpteenth time (already) and has his cross blocked out for a corner. The Hamburg man has done very well thus far - it appears that his pace is the decisive factor for Loew's decision to choose him ahead of Marcel Schmelzer.
  • 16'
PODOLSKI! Great save by Loria. Mueller had powerfully burst up the middle before laying the ball off for the Koeln man, who fired a low drive on goal. Klose was waiting to pounce on the rebound, but the ball was cleared just ahead of the goal-getter.
  • 15'
Silly from Mertesacker, who passes to Schweinsteiger with three defenders around him. Khizhnichenko nicks the ball away, but his counterattack is swiftly snuffed out.
  • 14'
LAHM! Champagne football from the hosts as the fullback jinks between a pair of defenders and slips through to Mueller. The World Cup golden boot winner unselfishly cuts back to his skipper, whose chipped finish is just over the bar! Really gorgeous passing, there.
  • 12'
Here's a chance for the visitors to counterattack - Nurgaliev claims an errant pass and starts to break forward, but is run down and back-passes.
  • 9'
Back to the game, the hosts are looking quite comfortable in possession but are still feeling their way into the match. Mertesacker and Badstuber are playing nearly at the midfield line, but the Kazakh forwards are dropping deep with ten men behind the ball. only Khizhnichenko is upfield.
  • 8'
Revisiting Klose's goal, it comes two days after the tenth anniversary of his first Germany cap. In that match, he scored a late winner against Albania. 59 goals later, he is just eight strikes behind Gerd Mueller's record of 68.
  • 6'
The hosts just keep putting on the pressure - Mueller cuts back for Oezil before the Real Madrid man is dispossessed in the middle of the penalty box; a few seconds later, Oezil sets up Podolski, whose shot from 20 yards sails over the bar.
  • 5'
Klose makes it look easy as he scores his 60th international goal! Schweinsteiger's delivery to the back post is perfect, leaving the unmarked veteran with a tap-in. What a start!
  • 4'
    Goal Miroslav Klose
  • 4'
  • 3'
Germany have an early free kick on the left now...
  • 2'
Francois Duchateau, from Germany has revealed that Hummels is unhurt, but instead was dropped. "Against a weak opponent badstuber is the best choice in the vertical play," said Loew.
  • 1'
  • Here's a heartfelt tribute - there is a minute of silence in the arena now. "Our thoughts are with the Japanese people" reads a banner below a massive Japanese flag.
  • The players are on the pitch now and we're almost underway from the Fritz-Walter-Stadion in Kaiserslautern...
  • Curiously, Germany centre half Mats Hummels has not even been named as a substitute. He may have picked up a knock before the match - any updates will be posted here as soon as possible.
  • And for Kazakhstan, in a 4-5-1 formation: Loria; Chernyshov, Abdulin, Chichulin, Iresmetov; Khizhnichenko, Zhumaskaliyev, Konysbayev, Nurgaliyev, Nurdauletov; Geteriyev
  • Starting line-ups have been confirmed. Here's Germany's squad, which will take a 4-2-3-1 shape: Neuer; Lahm Mertesacker, Badstuber, Aogo; Khedira, Schweinsteiger; Müller, Özil, Podolski; Klose
  • Kazakhstan's record thus far has been the exact opposite. They lost all their qualifiers under coach Bernd Storck, who was recently replaced by Miroslav Beranek.
  • Germany enter tonight's match having won all four of their Euro 2012 qualifiers, averaging a three-goal margin of victory per game.
  • Hello and welcome to's LIVE coverage of Germany vs Kazakhstan! I'm Clark Whitney, and I'll be keeping you company for the next two hours or so...
