Had been criticised in recent weeks for his performances but was at his sharp best whenever West Brom attack. In the 12th minute, did well to deny both Brunt and Olsson.

Little to do for the Germany international as the Baggies were unable to craft any attacks. That opponent Thomas was hooked at half-time spoke for his dominance.

Giant Belgian showed he had more strings to his bow as his foray up front created the confusion for Tevez's delightful second. Otherwise, snubbed out Odemwingie's threat.

Easy afternoon for the Ivorian as City's dominance meant he was rarely called into action.

Allowed Kolarov the space to impress in front of him as he locked down the left-flank. Smart selection from Mancini. Booked.

David Silva
At his inventive best. The Spaniard drifted across the pitch from the right-flank and evaded all attempts to curb his influence. Sweet flick set-up Tevez's second and denied goal off his own by Myhill's legs after he evaded the offside trap. Missed final minute as substituted for Razak.

Kept it simple in the middle of the pitch as he was reacquainted with Villa team-mate Milner.

Has struggled when deployed on the flanks since his big money summer switch but looked assured today in the centre. Moved the ball well to City's potent attackers.

Top of the Match
Mancini's decision to select the Serb at left-wing instead of his usual left-back spot proved inspired. Won first penalty after he drove forward into the box and his cross led to Thomas' hand-ball. Almost scored a second screamer of the week but was denied by the athletic Myhill.

Yaya Touré
Lumbered rather than powered his way forward. Still effective on the ball and looked to feed Tevez and Silva when possible. Over-hit simple pass at start of second-half to prevent Tevez having a presentable chance to grab a fourth. Visibly unfit after a throat infection, he made way for Dzeko early in the second period.

Carlos Tévez
Third hat-trick of his City career was bookened by two penalties. That he still had the confidence to strike both in was praiseworthy after his last two failed efforts from the spot. Highlight of the game was undoubtedly his smart one-two with Silva and calm finish for his second goal. Refused to ceded any ground to Dimitar Berbatov in the battle to be crowned Premier League top scorer. Given standing ovation when taken off for Wright-Phillips.

Emotional welcome was afforded to Eastlands favourite as he was given a rare outing on 86 minutes. Stung Myhill's gloves with an effort from just outside the box.

Thrown on by Mancini in the 63rd minute with the express intention to get his first Eastlands goal. Inches away from sliding home a Milner cross on 82 minutes.
Given no chance as the defence in front of him evaporated. Pulled off save of the game as he glanced a venomous Kolarov effort in first-half.

Unlucky to see referee Martin Atkinson point to the spot after he nudged into Kolarov for the first penalty of the match. Did, however, struggle to curb the Serbia international throughout. Not a comfortable fit at full-back. Booked.

Made to look slow and ponderous against the deadly Tevez. Beaten regularly on the floor by the Argentine and Silva. Stretched header handled by Thomas to see second penalty awarded.

Presence was missed in midfield as City ran rampant. Floundered alongside Olsson at the back as the host's attack cut them to ribbons.

Easy to see why he has lost his first-choice spot at left-back. The injured Marek Cech was missed as Shorey failed to keep a lid on the inventive Silva.

Drew a fine save from Hart in the first half from a dangerous free-kick. Only seemed to have influence from dead balls as he was unable to make a mark. Taken off for Jara.

Flop of the Match

Nigerian has proved to be deadly when supplied with the correct service but he had only scraps to feed on. Totally isolated. Removed for Tchoyi in final minutes.

Slack hand-ball summed up West Brom's sloppy performance. Had no reason to go with his hand despite the odd bounce. Made no inroads from out wide. Hooked at half-time for Vela.
