FULL TIME. SUNDERLAND 2-4 CHELSEA. A dominant second half performance from Chelsea has ensured that they will make the long trip back to London with all three points. Goals from Lampard, Kalou, Terry and Anelka cancel out home strikes from Bardsley and Richardson to make it two away wins on the bounce for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

GOAL!! CHELSEA!! ANELKA!! SUNDERLAND 2-4 CHELSEA. Game over! Substitute Florent Malouda sets up his fellow Frenchman Nicolas Anelka to tap the ball in and seal all three points for the Londoners.

All Sunderland can do is chase shadows at the moment as Chelsea are showing the experience of Champions by taking complete control of this game. Too rub it in the home fans faces even more Jose Bosingwa strolls off the pitch at a snail pace to be replaced by Paulo Ferreira.

Bit of handbags here as both sets of players come together after Richardson kicks the ball at Bosingwa. Richardson is booked as a result.

Changes galore here at the Stadium of Light with both managers looking to freshen up their tiring sides. In the midst of all of that, unsurprisingly Frank Lampard has a shot, this time it's not Gordon who keeps it out, but a good block from Anton Ferdinand.
  • 77'
    SubstitutionJohn Obi Mikel Ramires
  • 77'
The introduction of John Obi Mikel is proof that Ancelotti is looking to see out this one. His side are keeping the ball quite well at the moment but Sunderland aren't giving up.
  • 74'
Chelsea seem to have ran out of steam a little after going all guns blazing at the start of this second half. Sunderland have fifteen minutes plus stoppage time to get an equaliser and with the way this game has gone no one would rule out a goal from the boys in red and white!
  • 71'
Just as I comment that Sunderland haven't left their half yet, new signing Stephane Sessegnon tests Petr Cech with a decent effort from distance.
  • 68'
I don't think Sunderland have even left their half in the second period. Elmohomady is forced to track Ashley Cole all the way into his own half and eventually brings down the full-back. The resulting free-kick comes to nothing.
  • 65'
How has that stayed out! This game gets more unpredictable by the minute. Anelka finds Kalou who smashes the ball against not one post, but two. His strike hitting the near post, rolling along the line, crashing against the other one and back into play. Unbelievable stuff.
  • 62'
Chelsea continue to dominate proceedings and the Lampard Gordon battle continues, he makes yet another save from the Chelsea number eight before keeping out an effort from Essien moments later. Chelsea could run away with this.
  • 60'
    Assist Frank Lampard
  • 60'
    Goal John Terry
  • 58'
GOAL!! CHELSEA!! TERRY!! SUNDERLAND 2-3 CHELSEA. Chelsea get the goal their second half dominance has deserved. Frank Lampard yet again tests Gordon from range but this time the keeper can only parry the ball to Terry, who to his credit does extremely well to find the back of the net. Striking the ball down into the ground and looping the ball over Gordon and into the back of the net. Huge goal in Chelsea's season and they are deservedly infront.
  • 58'
This game is becoming a battle between two men, Craig Gordon and Frank Lampard, and the Scotsman is coming out on top at the moment after making yet another save from Frank Lampard. The Sunderland number one gets down low for the second time in two minutes to deny the Chelsea midfielder. Superb display of goalkeeping.
  • 55'
    Yellow Card Didier Drogba
  • 55'
Yellow card for Didier Drogba after the big striker fouls Steed Malbranque. Bit of frustration perhaps as Chelsea's talisman hasn't had much go for him tonight.
  • 53'
Chelsea come close yet again! Gordon once again keeps out an effort from Frank Lampard and Sunderland are all over the place at the moment.
  • 50'
How are we still level? Unbelievable scenes at the Stadium of Light. Lampard latches on to a deflected cross and his effort is pushed away by Gordon. From the resulting corner kick we have an almighty scramble in the area which results in a combination of Steed Malbranque and the upright keeping Chelsea out. Surely only a matter of time before Chelsea score in this one?
  • 48'
Chelsea captain John Terry looks to play Kalou in behind the Sunderland defence, but the Ivorian striker is offside. Good positive run though from the goalscorer.

The second half has began at The Stadium of Light, let's hope for more of the same from both teams!

HALF TIME. SUNDERLAND 2-2 CHELSEA. What a fantastic 45 minutes of football. Phil Bardsley gave Sunderland the lead before Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou put Chelsea 2-1 up, but a magnificent free-kick from Kieran Richardson takes us into the break all square and all fans at the Stadium of Light will be hoping for more of the same in the second period! Time to go and catch my breath!
  • 44'
Petr Cech who has looked uncertain throughout tonight's encounter is forced to parry the ball clear from a Richardson effort as the goalscorer smashes a powerful shot at the Czech goalkeeper. I don't think anyone wants half-time with the way this game is going at the moment!
  • 41'
Yet another fantastic chance for Chelsea! Lampard swings in an inch perfect corner which Drogba can only head straight at Gordon. Chelsea may be made to rue these chances come the end of this match.
  • 38'
It's all Chelsea at the moment! Gordon does superbly well to keep out a low drive from Essien, before Ivanovic smashes a shot against the bar from six yards out. Ancelotti must be wondering how his side aren't winning this one!
  • 35'
Chelsea have a penalty appeal turned down as Drogba wants Mark Halsey to point to the spot after a suspected handball from Nedum Onouha. Would have been extremely harsh though and Halsey makes the correct decision by waving away Drogba's appeals.
  • 32'
Essien tries his luck from range but his effort is deflected which makes Gordon's save a little more comfortable. Sunderland will believe that justice has been done as their was a clear foul during Chelsea's venture forward.
  • 29'
This game is being played at a breathtaking pace and I've even had to take a breath myself after the opening half hour! Chelsea are pouring forward to try and regain the lead and I wouldn't be surprised if it's 5-5 at half-time at this rate!
  • 27'
    Goal Kieran Richardson
  • 27'
GOAL!! SUNDERLAND!! RICHARDSON!! SUNDERLAND 2-2 CHELSEA. Unbelievable stuff. You just can't take your eyes off this game! Our man at the game Owen Watson describes the goal: "Another goal for Sunderland and it's an absolute beauty of a free-kick from Richardson. He hit it low and hard as it zipped under the Chelsea wall to bring Sunderland back into the game with 25 minutes played.
  • 24'
GOAL!! CHELSEA!! KALOU!! SUNDERLAND 1-2 CHELSEA. Just like that the Champions are in front, and it's smash and grab counter attacking football. Anelka plays in Kalou and he is one on one with Gordon who sprints out on to the edge of his area to try and narrow the angle, but Kalou slips the ball underneath the Sunderland goalkeeper to give his side the lead. Fabulous finish.

    Assist Nicolas Anelka

    Goal Salomon Kalou

The games calmed down a little in the last few minutes with the majority of the play taking place in the middle of the park.

Gyan goes for an outrageous overhead kick from all of 20 yards that goes well wide. Very lively start here in Sunderland.

    Penalty Goal Frank Lampard
  • 15'
GOAL!! CHELSEA!! LAMPARD (PEN)!! SUNDERLAND 1-1 CHELSEA. Chelsea's number eight levels the scoring from the penalty spot. Elmohamady clumsily jumps into the back of Ashley Cole just inside the box and Mark Halsey correctly points to the spot. Lampard steps up and sends Gordon the wrong way by smashing the ball into the left hand corner.
  • 12'
Chelsea have took control in the last few minutes, and have just come very close through Frank Lampard. After good work from Salomon Kalou, Didier Drogba found Lampard in space on the right-hand side of the penalty area, and the midfielder took his shot very early and tried to go across Craig Gordon, only to drag his effort a foot wide of the post. Very good response from Chelsea.
  • 10'
Chelsea have a half-hearted penalty appeal turned down as John Terry goes down in the box. Replays show that he may have had a case but it would have been very harsh on Sunderland.
  • 8'
The camera cuts to the Chelsea bench to see a stunned Carlo Ancelotti motionless on the touchline. Just as he thought Chelsea had turned the corner with a 4-0 win away at Bolton and the signings of Fernando Torres and David Luiz, Sunderland have stunned the Champions!
  • 5'
GOAL!!! SUNDERLAND!! BARDSLEY!! SUNDERLAND 1-0 CHELSEA. What a start from the home side and what a wonderful goal! Left-back Phil Bardsley makes a barnstorming run down the left-hand side, cuts inside onto his right foot and smashes a swerving shot past the helpless Petr Cech into the bottom right-hand corner. That wasn't in the script!
  • 4'
    Assist Steed Malbranque

    Goal Phil Bardsley

Early pressure from Sunderland here. El Mohomady barges over Ashley Cole near the corner flag and gives away a needless free-kick.
