Full-time. Liverpool were the better side and had more chances but Reading defended well. The away side were heavily reliant on Gerrard on Torres once again. Reading can be proud with their performance and can look forward to a replay at Anfield.

Torres almost wins it for Liverpool! Benayoun's neat chip in from the left side of the penalty area is headed over an onrushing Hamer but the ball lands on the top of the net.
Gerrard's free-kick just into Reading's half is spilled by Hamer but he quickly gathers the ball and clears the danger.
Reading are putting pressure on Liverpool late on. Causing Pepe Reina to punch clear a number of times from deliveries from Sigurdssn and McAnuff.
Sigurdsson looks a threat cutting in from the left hand side. His deliveries are causing panic in the Liverpool penalty area.
Confusion in defence for Liverpool. Simon Church shoots over from a tight angle after Pepe Reina attempted to see the ball out for a goal kick.
Reading are doing a terrific job of closing down Liverpool's defensive midfielders. In particular, Jem Karacan and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Fernando Torres is almost in for Liverpool. As he closes down on the goalkeeper, Ingimarsson nudges the ball away from him and Hamer collects the ball.

Lack of communication at the back for Reading. A ball in from Torres on the right wing is nudged clear by Mills with Gerrard closing in. Hamer should have claimed it.
Reading make their second change. Now here's a name for Liverpool fans. Brian Howard. He scored the winning goal for Barnsley in a 2-1 win at Anfield in 2008. He replaces Kalifa Cisse.
Aquilani gets away with a terrible pass. He fires the ball straight into Rasiak in attempt to find Stephen Darby and the ball strikes the elbow of the Royals striker.
Reading also make a change. Adam Federici has picked up a knock and has been replaced by young keeper Ben Hamer.
Liverpool make their first change. David Ngog is replaced by Alberto Aquilani. The Italian will slot in central midfield alongside Lucas and Gerrard will support Torres up front.

A half chance for the Royals. Church's clever ball in from the right side of the penalty area glides past Carragher but Rasiak fails to connect with the ball at the far post.
Good tracking back from Torres. As McAnuff dwelled on the ball on the right side of midfield the Spaniard sprints back to dispossess the right winger.
Good defending from Stephen Darby. A ball in from McAnuff flies over Skrtel and Carragher and the young right-back is there to head away from Rasiak.
Chants of 'We want Steve Coppell back!' sound around the Stadium. The Royals are managerless after sacking Brendan Rodgers in December and he fans are making it clear they want their former boss to return.
Great effort from Sigurdsson. He shrugs Lucas off the ball before dribbling past Steven Gerrard and fires at goal from 25 yards out but Reina parries the ball clear.
A mix-up at the back for Reading. Lucas' long pass is headed back towards goal by Ryan Bertrand but Adam Federici's positioning was terrible but he manages to claim the ball.
Good play from Simon Church. He works his way past Carragher before chipping into the box towards Rasiak but Reina claims the ball.
McAnuff returns to the field and immediately mis-controls a pass and gives Liverpool a throw-in.
Jobi McAnuff looks hurt for Reading. As he passed the ball to Gunnarsson he looked as though he landed awkwardly and he is off to receive treatment.
Reading kick-off the second half. No substitutions at the break for either side.
Half-time. Liverpool have had the majority of the chances but Reading have defended fairly well. Reading's main goal threat is from set pieces and Liverpool look unstable when defending corners. 1-1.
Great skill from Torres. Lucas' through ball finds the striker on the left wing and he dribbles brilliantly through two Reading defenders and is pulled back to earn a free-kick.
Half chance for the visitors. Gerrard's superb pass finds Torres closing in on the goalkeeper but Federici deals with the Spaniards attempted chip over him.
Reading are looking a real threat from set pieces. Deliveries from Bertand and Sigurdsson are dangerous and the Reds are finding them difficult to cope with.
Another chance for Liverpool. Kuyt's ball in from the right is poorly cleared by Kalifa Cisse and finds Gerrard on the edge of the box but his right-footed shot is wild and flies over the bar.

GOAL! 1-1! Gerrard for Liverpool! Gerrard's curling cross from the left side of the area around 25 yards out looks as though it is going to be met by Dirk Kuyt but the Dutchman fails to get on the end of it and the ball escapes Federici and finds the far corner.
Great chance for Torres. Kuyt's cross from the right wing is superb and finds Liverpool's top scorer but his header flies a yard wide of the post.
Liverpool are finding it difficult to break Reading down. Sigurdsson and McAnuff are doing well to help out Karacan and Cisse in central midfield when the Reds attack.
Liverpool have not reacted well to going a goal down. Pepe Reina slices his left-footed clearance out of play following Jamie Carragher's backpass.

Best chance of the game so far. Kuyt's low cross from the right wing finds Ngog on the edge of the box and his left-footed shot goes just wide of the far post.
Federici this time chooses to smash the ball clear as Ngog looked to latch on to a clearance.
Big mistake from Federici. As he slides to claim the ball near the left side of the area he carries the ball out of the area and gives away a free-kick. Gerrard's free-kick is blocked by the wall.
Liverpool again persist on using zonal marking for corners. Matthew Mills' header is saved by Reina but Lucas had two players to mark.
Reading put the ball in the back of the net but the referee calls it offside. Sigurdsson's free-kick caused panic in the area and Rasiak nodded the ball past Reina but it was offside.
Liverpool have started with an unfamiliar 4-4-2 formation with Ngog and Torres up front. Gerrard is playing in a deeper role alongside Lucas and he will support the strikers.
Almost a chance for Dirk Kuyt. Lucas' cross field ball finds Aurelio on the left side of the penalty area and he smashes the ball across the face of goal but the Dutchman fails to get on the end of it.
Gerrard's long pass finds Ngog and he turns Ingimarsson but slices his left-footed shot wide.

This is the first time the sides have met in the FA Cup and Reading will be looking to cause a similar upset to the one they caused in December 2007. Goals from Stephen Hunt, Kevin Doyle and James Harper gave the Royals a 3-1 win over the Reds in the Premier League.
Both sides have been disappointing in their leagues this season, with managerless Reading sitting 20th in the Championship while Liverpool lie 7th in the Premier League.
