    Hugo Lloris

Didn't have too much to deal with in terms of shot-stopping but certainly had to be on his toes at times as there was a few scrambles inside the box that he pounced upon to take the pressure off.

  • Mathieu Debuchy

    Mathieu Debuchy

Dug in despite being up against a real talent in Konoplyanka. Put in some superbly timed challenges and constantly snuffed out Ukraine counterattacks with his positioning and reading of the game.

  • Mamadou Sakho

    Mamadou Sakho

Opened the scoring for France with a firm finish from a tight angle in the 22nd minute and was generally a menace from set-pieces. Was prone to an over-elaborate clearance or two but proved to be the hero as he scored a second to make it 3-0.

  • Patrice Evra

    Patrice Evra

Was involved in a running duel with Yarmolenko all evening and gave as good as he got in terms of running and strength.

  • Raphaël Varane

    3.50

    Raphaël Varane

Elegnantly marshaled the defence throughout the match as was always looking to burst out of defence and create play from the back. Read the game magnificently and snuffed out the threat from Zozulya with minimal fuss.

  • Blaise Matuidi

    4.00

    Blaise Matuidi

Was box-to-box all evening and showed a terrific engine in the middle of the park. Got back into defensive positions well after going forward but showed plenty of ambitions and made some terrific late bursting runs into the box.

  • Franck Ribéry

    3.00

    Franck Ribéry

Was the French dangerman as soon as the first whistle blew and got off to a lightning start as he burst down the left to force Rotan into conceding a booking.

  • Mathieu Valbuena

    3.50

    Mathieu Valbuena

Looked up for the match from the start and was always a thorn in the side of Ukraine from his position down that right-hand side. Delivery from set-pieces was sensational all evening.

  • Paul Pogba

    Paul Pogba

Was a danger to Ukraine from the start and showed his prowess in the air as he almost scored with a couple of powerful headers early on, before driving a strike inches over from the edge of the box.

  • Yohan Cabaye

    4.00

    Yohan Cabaye

Got stuck in from the first whistle and his attitude and determination set the tone for the France performance, especially in the first half.

  • Karim Benzema

    3.50

    Karim Benzema

Was unlucky to see a goal ruled as offside but was a few yards off when he smashed a strike home to make it 2-0 in the first half. Hold up play was solid as he continually introduced others into the match.

    Olivier Giroud

Came on late on and held the ball up well.

  • Andriy Pyatov

    Andriy Pyatov

Pulled off a number of outstanding saves throughout the match and was unlucky to concede moments after denying Ribery with a super stop with his right hand.

  • Vitaliy Vasyl'ovych Mandzyuk

    2.50

    Vitaliy Vasyl'ovych Mandzyuk

Had his hands full with Ribery's pace, directness, and trickery coming in from the left-hand side and struggled at times. However, was full of desire to get back into position whenever in forward positions.

  • Vyacheslav Shevchuk

    3.00

    Vyacheslav Shevchuk

Was guilty of standing off Valbuena at times which allowed the Marseille man to pick out crosses into the box at will. However, learned his lesson in the second period and got in his face.

  • Yevhen Khacheridi

    6
    1.50

    Yevhen Khacheridi

Was dominant aerially in the first half but earned a booking after a daft scuffle with Sakho. Left Ukraine with a mountain to climb to get back into the match after getting himself sent off after the break with a scything challenge on Ribery.

  • Yaroslav Rakytskyy
    2
    4
    3.50

    Yaroslav Rakytskyy

Was under the cosh from the start of the match as France continually piled crosses into the box, but he was superb in the air and headed them out time after time.

  • Edmar
    1
    2
    2.50

    Edmar

Attempted to slot in just behind Zozulya in the hole but barely saw the ball in that position, which left the strike horribly isolated up top.

  • Ruslan Rotan

    3
    2.50

    Ruslan Rotan

Didn't look comfortable almost immediately as he earned a booking just seven minutes in when he took out Ribery. Attempted to screen his defence but was pulled out of position too many times.

  • Yevhen Konoplyanka
    3
    2
    2.50

    Yevhen Konoplyanka

Displayed flashes of his trickery and speed down the left and gave Debuchy something to think about, but didn't do it often enough and often came out second best. Delivery into the box could have been better as his free kicks were flat.

  • Roman Bezus
    1
    4
    2.50

    Roman Bezus

Showed some flashes of class as he drilled an unlucky strike just wide of the post from 25 yards out but drifted in and out of the match offensively.

  • Roman Zozulya
    1
    5
    2.00

    Roman Zozulya

Was the most anonymous player on the park as he barely saw the ball in his lone striker role up top. Attempted to drift from his position to find the ball but was always followed by Varane and was the game's most ineffective player.

  • Andriy Yarmolenko
    5
    2
    2.00

    Andriy Yarmolenko

Grew into the match in the first period and began to look dangerous down that right-hand side. Gave Evra a tough match at times with his pace and his drifting runs into the box but should have scored just before the break with a shot at the back post. Became more anonymous as the match went on.

    Oleh Husyev

Entered the match early in the second half but looked out-of sorts and couldn't get failed to get up to the tempo.
