The Green and Whites faced an annihilation at the hands of the north-eastern side who scored two goals in each half...
Seikhohao Tuboi (15'), Redeem Tlang (37'), Cornell Glen (49') and Taisuke Matsugae (62') got their names on the scoresheet for the winners.
The Goan side started brightly in the opening few minutes of the match but failed to maintain the momentum for the rest of the first half with Darryl Duffy being crowded out by the Lajong defense.
The opener came in the form of a powerful header by Seikhohao Tuboi off a cross from the right by Taisuke Matsugae to give Singto's side the lead in the 15th minute.
In the 29th minute, Duffy was fouled by Vinay Singh, but the Lajong goalkeeper was lucky to stay on the pitch as the referee's flag was already up for an offside against the Scot.
Cornell Glen played a beautiful ball through to Subhash Singh in the 36th minute but the latter scuffed his shot wide. In the very next minute however, Glen pulled three defenders towards him on the left flank and his sharp cross was tucked away by an unmarked Redeem Tlang at the far post.
Tlang whiped in a cross from the right which was miskicked by Glen while Subhash Singh, who was just behind the Trinidad & Tobago national, shot wide from inside the box in the 42nd minute as Salgaocar went into the break trailing by two goals.
After the break, Glen controlled a pass on the right side and sent a right-footed volley towards the far post, but the ball came off the upright before Lajong scored their third goal three minutes later.
Matsugae broke away from his marker and left Salgaocar goalkeeper Karanjit Singh with absolutely no chance as his powerful shot crashed into the roof of the net.
Duffy had an oppotunity to restore some pride for Derrick Pereira's side after he was released on the left by skipper Francis Fernandes but the Scot's shot went despairingly wide in the 53rd minute.
Less than 10 minutes later, Glen found himself between two green shirts outside the box on the left, but that didn't stop him from expertly finding the far side of the goal to make it 4-0 in favour of his side.
Salgaocar FC were unable to unlock the Lajong defense as Derrick Pereira will be disappointed with his boys' performance.
