Bengaluru FC - Mohammedan Sporting Preview: Black and Whites aim to win their first points in Bangalore
Bengaluru, having a perfect start to their I-League expedition, will look to continue their perfect streak against a hapless Mohammedan, though visitors have formula to bite

Bengaluru head into this game knowing another win will give them some form of breathing space at the top of the table. Their rise to the top has been surprising given they are a fledgling club having formed just this year. Their progress glows with success, highlighting the work of a good transfer system and a deep squad.
Ashley Westwood has a fully fit squad to choose from. With the likes of John Johnson and Sean Rooney firing on all cylinders Bengaluru FC’s progress remains unchallenged.
“Clubs that you or the fans expect us to beat, we aren’t taking lightly. Those are the most dangerous games. They haven’t had the best start to the league but they have their reasons for it,” said coach Ashley Westwood.Mohammedan Sporting, on the other hand, have stunted themselves in bottom place with a host of pale displays. Their meek submission to Pune FC and Salgaocar FC, where they conceded three goals per game have had their supporters pulling their hair out.
Their play has remained deficient of the supply of Penn Orji’s services while Tolgay Ozbey had contradicted an eye infection, but should be available for the next round of matches.
Bola Mohsood hasn’t’ quipped on his team selection, but he’ll know that a much improved performance will be required to get Mohammedan out of the mess they find themselves stuck in.
“We’ve been struggling with injuries. Even Penn isn’t a 100% fit but we will be starting with him tomorrow,” said Masood. “We come to every game wishing for three points. If we walk away with even one against Bengaluru, I’ll take it happily. We’ve done well against teams who specialize in dead ball situations and Thursday should be no different.”
Mohammedan know that a lot more than pride is what is at stake when they toe Bengaluru away. Yet they have to be fearless in search of that elusive win to set them away. Bengaluru will be comfortable knowing Mohammedan will go all out in their necessity to win this one, so will eagerly wait to catch them on the counter, with the like of Chhetri and Robin Singh out in front.
A real contest awaits us as Mohammedan and Bengaluru know what that victory will do for their team's morale.
