Live Commentary

  • That is all I, Ayush Srivastava have to say out here. Its truly been a pleasure! Tweet your thoughts to me on ayush_sri. Would be great to hear from both sets of fans. Tomorrow too, we have a 6.15 IST clash between India and Pakistan. That too should be a cracker. Join us for it, till then, goodbye!
  • Nepal, if anything, could and should have scored atleast half a dozen goals. Better teams will not let such profligacy go unpunished.
  • 90' + 4'
    SubstitutionAnil Gurung Bikram Lama
  • 90' + 4'
And that's full-time! And Bangladeshi players seem in a daze. Wonder if its the result, their own performance or simply the rings the Nepalese ran around them, that they are finding difficult to believe.
  • 90' + 2'
Again Nepal steal the ball in midfield, and it ends with a Jumanu Rai shot, which the keeper manages to parry away
  • 90'
Jumanu Rai finds Chand with a clever pass, but Mamun Khan shows great commitment to smother the attack, and gets injured in the process.
  • 88'
The game losing its tempo. nepal justifiably saving some energy for the next game. Bangladesh haven't spent any all day, if you ask me!
  • 84'
    SubstitutionMohammad Linkon Raihan Hasan
  • 83'
Maybe the one negative of this game is that Nepal haven't finished off their chances. Jumanu Rai and Gurung combine to beat the Bangladeshi defense and keeper, before picking out Rohit Chand, who has the goal gaping at his mercy, but decides to take another touch, allowing a Bangladeshi defender to clear. Why did he need to take a touch there??
  • 80'
    SubstitutionRaju Tamang Jumanu Rai
  • 79'
Nepal finding spaces aplenty, as Bangladesh now just going through the motions. Gurung now goes clear, but his shot is wide of the post, even though fans thought he had scored.
  • 78'
SubstitutionAtiqur Rahman Meshu Mohammad Shakawat Hossain Rony
  • 75'
A cracking effort by Rohit Chand on goal, and Mamun Khan does well to tip it over.
  • 72'
Raju Tamang nwo with a shot just off target! Brilliant retrieval of the ball by Gurung in the build-up, who also got fouled, but the ball reached Tamang and the referee allowed play to go on.
  • 70'
The crowd almost applauding a tame Bangladesh effort on goal. Yes, they have been that bad!
  • 67'
And some more poor defending sees Gurung go through on goal. He tried to be too clever with his effort though, and allowed the keeper a chance to pull off a good save.
  • 65'
Nepal taking their foot off the pedal a bit now. It was always going to be difficult to continue at that pace.
  • 62'
    Yellow Card Kiran Chemzong
  • 60'
    Yellow Card Mohammad Linkon
  • 60'
Bangladesh try to build an attack, but lack any sort of conviction. After 3-4 passes in midfield, a poor ball sees Nepal recieve a throw-in.
  • 56'
SubstitutionMohammed Zahid Hossain Mobarak Hossain Bhuyan

  • 53'
    Yellow Card Mohammad Toklis Ahmed
  • 52'
And Bangladesh completely withdrawing into their own box. Whatever de Kruif said at half-time is not working at the moment. They look shell-shocked and beaten.
  • 49'
Nothing comes of it though, but Taklis Ahmed concedes another free-kick. Lucky to get away without a yellow card. The referee probably sympathizing with his fate today.
  • 48'
Vey frustrating for Bangladesh's bench as they find it difficult to deal with Nepal's link-up play. Concede a rash free-kick in a dangerous zone.
  • 46'
    SubstitutionJagjit Shrestha Prakash Budhathoki
  • 46'
bangladesh kick us off, as Nepal make an early substitution. Not sure if it is an injury or a tactical switch.
  • 45' + 3'
And the referee brings the half to an end, one dominated by Nepal, no two ways about it.
  • 44'
Good, no non-sense style defending by Nepal. They seem to be under orders to take no chances at the back, which is not exactly a bad thing to do!
  • 41'
Nepal continue to enjoy the possession. Bangladesh look nervous.
  • 36'
Bangladesh trying to fight their way back into the tie. They ofcourse still have time to do so, but need to up the tempo.
  • 32'
    Yellow Card Sabindra Shrestha

GOAL!! Bharat Khawash side foots the ball home from the corner. A brilliant finish. Gurung and Khawash have torn Bangladesh apart today!
