Barcelona kick-off their title defence at home to Levante next Sunday. Thanks for joining me, Max Bentley, on this Goal.com live commentary. Enjoy the rest of your weekends. Until next time, goodbye!
FT: MALAYSIA XI 1-3 BARCELONA. Goals from Fabregas, Neymar and Pique make it two wins out of two on the Asia Tour for Gerardo Martino's side. It was certainly no walk in the park for the Spanish champions and credit is due to the Asian outfit who provided a spirited and well-organised display.
A nice gesture from the Barcelona players as they give some of their jerseys to the Malaysian players at the final whistle.
90′ +3
Montoya drives forward from right-back once again and delivers a cross towards the back post but Tello cannot connect with his volley effectively and Malaysia just manage to clear.
90′ +1
Malaysia XI run the clock down by giving some of their less-experienced members a run out for the final few minutes of stoppage time. I'm not sure they will get a touch, mind.
Sanchez swings a cross towards the back post for Tello but his cushioned pass across the goalmouth, intended for Dongou, is well claimed by Marlias.
This Malaysia XI side have provided a brilliant test for Martino's side this afternoon in their final preseason match before the start of the new Liga season. It certainly has not been another goalfest like many expected.
Tello does well to burst into space down the left wing but he delays playing his cross and is eventually crowded out by a series of black and yellow shirts.
Injury concern for Fabregas here as he hobbles off the pitch. Jean Marie Dongou comes on to replace him whilst Marc Bartra replaces Gerard Pique in defence.
Fabregas looks for a third assist when he clips the ball over the Malaysia defence for Sanchez but Marlias reacts well to rush off his line and smother the ball.
Tata Martino makes another change with Frank Bagnack replacing Javier Mascherano. High hopes for this Cameroonese defender.
The Malaysia players are tiring here and Jonathan dos Santos goes close when he meets Adriano's cross but his volley is well palmed to safety by Marlias.
Barcelona go close to snatching a fourth when Sergi Roberto picks out the run of Adriano down the left but the Brazilian is denied a goal as Marlias produces a fine fingertipped save at his near post.
Goal Piqué
PIQUE MAKES IT 3-1. The centre-back shows all the qualities of a striker as he controls Fabregas' chipped pass expertly before firing past Marlias and into the roof of the net.
Sanchez and Fabregas combine wonderfully down the right but the Chilean's shot to the near post is turned behind by Marlias for a corner.
Montoya delivers a teasing low cross from the right but Shas is in the right place again to make the interception. You have to credit this Malaysia defence for their brilliant organisation.
All of these substitutions have taken the sting out of the game a little here with neither side seriously troubling either goalkeeper. Can Barcelona find a third goal to effectively win this contest or will the Malaysian XI secure an unlikely draw?
Malaysia XI opt to make some changes with Safee Mohd Sali and Christie Jayaseelan introduced to the action.
Malaysia XI push forward in search of an unlikely equaliser but Azmi's goalbound effort strikes the back of his teammate Amri Yahyah and deflects out for a goal kick.
Adriano is a man capable of truly special strikes but this is not one of his better efforts as his right-footed attempt from the edge of the box is scuffed straight into the gloves of Marlias.
There is a further stoppage in play as a Malaysian defender is stretchered off the field of play. Zubir Azmi comes on to replace him.
Substitution Busquets Alex Song
Substitution Andrés Iniesta Luján Sergi Roberto
Substitution Xavi Jonathan Dos Santos
Substitution Víctor Valdés José Pinto Colorado
Tata Martino opts to make four change with Jose Manuel Pinto, Jonathan Dos Santos, Sergi Roberto and Alex Song replacing Victor Valdes, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.
Tello's low cross from the left is only half cleared by the Malaysian defence and Iniesta seizes on the loose ball but can only send his left-footed effort narrowly past the post. Barcelona are pushing for a third here.
Sanchez and Montoya combine effectively down the right and Barcelona win a corner. Xavi's corner is headed to the edge of the box and Iniesta watches his shot deflect straight into the gloves of substitute goalkeeper Marlias.
Iniesta looks to clip a ball behind the opposition defence for Sanchez to race onto, but Shas stands firm to make a crucial interception. Malaysia XI are certainly providing a much sterner test than Santos and Thailand did.
Fabregas and Xavi exchange neat passes inside the Malaysia XI box before Busquets eventually blasts a left-footed strike over the crossbar. He certainly hasn't been afraid to shoot today.
Replays show that Neymar may actually have picked up a knock towards the end of the first half. Perhaps a precautionary switch from Martino.
TELLO GOES CLOSE! Fabregas splits the Malaysia XI defence with an incise reverse pass but Tello can only fire wide of the left-hand post under pressure.
Cristian Tello, who was called up to the Spanish national side for the first time this week, looks to make an instant impression but his low cross is well cleared by Gurusamy.
Gerardo Martino has made three changes at the break, with Montoya, Adriano and Tello replacing Alves, Alba and Neymar.
Malaysia XI get the second half underway. I will bring you news of any Barcelona substitutions shortly.
HT: MALAYSIA XI 1-2 BARCELONA. A fantastic first-half here with both sides giving it a real go. Fabregas gave Los Cules the lead when his weak header from Alba's cross was parried into the net by Fahmi before the hosts levelled with a stunning strike from Amri Yahyah. However, Neymar restored the lead for Barca two minutes before the break with a neat piece of skill and a composed finish. Let's hope for more of the same in the second half.
Barcelona have the ball in the net but Fabregas is adjudged offside before he crosses for Sanchez to head home. The Spaniard then enjoys a spot of handbags with Wan Nor who appears to have stepped on his toe.
Goal Neymar
NEYMAR RESTORES BARCELONA'S LEAD! Fabregas lays the ball into the Brazilian's feet and he rolls his marker expertly before coolly slotting a left-footed shot past Fahmi. Wonderful technique from the 21-year-old.
Goal Amri Yahyah
MALAYSIA XI EQUALISE! Jordi Alba fails to clear a long diagonal ball from the left wing and the rebound is met emphatically by Amri Yahyah who smashes the ball past Valdes. 1-1.
Barcelona are seeking a second goal before the break but Neymar's inswinging corner is punched clear by Fahmi. Coach Rajagopal will be delighted with how his side have rallied against the Spanish champions so far.
Moments after Rahim diverts Wan Nor's cross inches past the post, the Malaysia side threaten again when Zafuan cuts inside the challenge of Xavi before sending an outside-of-the-foot shot marginally wide. Valdes is furious with his defence.
Kunanlan has been effective for Malaysia in this first half and he produces a wonderful sliding challenge to halt Neymar's jinking run down the right. I expect that Martino will be asking more from his wingers in the second half.
Goal Cesc Fàbregas
FABREGAS GIVES BARCELONA THE LEAD! Alba collects Neymar's pass in his stride, bursting past two Malaysia XI defenders before lofting a cross into the middle which Fabregas meets, and his header is weakly pushed into the corner of the net by Fahmi. The goalkeeper will not want to see a replay of that goal, 1-0.
The intensity grows as Safiq Rahim bursts down the right wing but he cannot pick out a fellow yellow and black shirt and a rare attack for the hosts breaks down.
Barcelona cannot find a way to pass the ball through the Malaysia XI defence and Iniesta opts to try his luck from distance, but his bending effort goes inches wide of the post, with Fahmi stranded. Barcelona are getting closer!
NEYMAR GOES CLOSE! The Brazilian collects Iniesta's pass before brilliantly dragging the ball away from his marker and curling a right-footed shot narrowly over the crossbar. That's the closest Barcelona have come to opening the scoring.
Interesting tactic from Pique as he looks to play a route one ball over the top for a Blaugrana shirt to run onto. Hardly the traditional Barcelona style of play.
Malaysia XI are not doing themselves any favours as Fahmi boots a goal kick straight out of play. The possession stats are weighing heavily in the Spanish champions' favour but they are yet to seriously test the Malaysia goalkeeper.
Fabregas has been excellent in Barcelona's preseason but he has been rather anonymous in this false no.9 role so far. Sanchez and Neymar have not provided him with enough service in the opening 22 minutes.
MALAYSIA XI HIT THE POST! A mix-up between Pique and Busquets allows Idlan Talaha to nip his way through on goal and his delicate chip beats Valdes but hits the post. Let-off for Barcelona!
Shas is looking a little vulnerable at the back for Malaysia XI and his error allows Fabregas a sight of goal, but the former-Arsenal captain drags his shot wide of the target.
Iniesta produces a sublime pass to pick out Sanchez on the right side of the box but the Chilean's low rolled cross, intended for Fabregas, is hacked clear by Zafuan.
Alves delivers a cross from the right which Shas completely miskicks but his goalkeeper is alert to prevent Sanchez from converting from close range.
Barcelona are in firm control here but they are yet to test Fahmi in the Malaysia goal. Mind you, I'm not sure the Asian side have even touched the ball in Barcelona's half.
Sanchez is causing the Malaysia XI problems with his pace down the right and he wins a free kick by the touchline. Barcelona play it short but Busquets leans back and fires an effort high over the crossbar.
Neymar and Alba combine skillfully down the left wing but the Brazilian can only divert the left-back's return pass wide of Fahmi's right-hand post. The Malaysian goalkeeper is yet to make a meaningful save.
The volume inside the Shah Alam Stadium rises as Neymar receives the ball in a threatening position outside the box. However, the Brazilian ignores the crowd's pleas to shoot. Brilliant atmosphere here.
Iniesta plays a wonderful ball into the left channel for Alba but his low cross is excellently blocked by Jasuli.
Barcelona are the side pushing forward in search of an early opener but they have found this Malaysian XI side well organised and disciplined so far. No way through for Martino's men at the moment.
Sanchez produces a brilliant burst of pace to evade his marker down the right wing but Fabregas cannot bring down the Chilean's cross and Malaysia XI survive their first scare.
A huge roar goes around the stadium as Barcelona get the ball rolling.
The teams emerge from the tunnels with Barcelona in their traditional blaugrana jerseys and Malaysia in their yellow and black shirts. Kick-off is moments away.
Lionel Messi will not feature this afternoon as he is suffering from a hamstring sprain whilst Pedro is also ruled out through injury. Cesc Fabregas is expected to occupy the false no.9 role with Neymar and Sanchez either side.
BARCELONA (4-3-3): Valdes; Alves, Pique, Mascherano, Alba; Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta; Sanchez, Fabregas, Neymar.
In his two games in charge so far, Gerardo Martino has witnessed his side score 15 goals, conceding only one in the process. With four defeats on the trot, you would expect that this Malaysian XI could be in for a bit of a thrashing this afternoon.
My name is Max Bentley and I'll be keeping you up to date with all the action as it happens. Today's contest was supposed to take place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium but after concerns over the state of the pitch, it has been relocated to the Shah Alam Stadium instead.
The new season edges nearer with little over one week to go until Barcelona kick-off their La Liga title defence. Just one last pre-season test stands in their way as they face a Malaysia XI this afternoon.
