The Gunners stay top in the Premier League as they hit Canaries for four with stunning goals from Aaron Ramsey & Jack Wilshere, as Mesut Ozil opens his league account with a double

    Wojciech Szczesny

The Pole played with confidence and his handling was solid as he kept out Norwich's attempts, mainly from distance. Could do nothing about Howson's excellent strike.

  • Bacary Sagna

    Bacary Sagna

Lacked defensive support so it was little surprise that Norwich's goal came from a cross from his side. Was always asking for the ball when Arsenal were in possession and gave the team width.

    Per Mertesacker

Was rarely troubled but had to stay alert to danger, particularly in the second half when Norwich showed more attacking intent. Almost scored with a glancing header late on.

  • Laurent Koscielny

    Laurent Koscielny

The Frenchman made some typically perceptive interceptions to snuff out danger quickly with interceptions and strong tackles. Imperious.

  • Kieran Gibbs

    Kieran Gibbs

A strong display from the left-back as he defended with maturity, looking to force Snodgrass on to his right foot, and offered an attacking outlet. Good cutback from which Giroud almost scored in the first half.

  • Mikel Arteta

    Mikel Arteta

Dictated the play in central midfield, seeing plenty of the ball, barely misplacing a pass as he looked to find the likes of Ozil and Cazorla in good positions.

  • Jack Wilshere

    Jack Wilshere

Played in an unfamiliar position on the right but responded with a quick one-two and right-footed volley to complete a sensational team goal in the 18th minute. Rather drifted out of the game after the break.

  • Mesut Özil

    Mesut Özil

Scored his first Premier League goal in the 58th minute with a perfectly-timed run and accurate glancing header - and didn't have to wait long for his second as he poked home from close range late on. Classy on the ball but not at his devastating best after picking up an injury on international duty.

  • Santi Cazorla

    Santi Cazorla

Looked sharp after coming straight back into the side following a lay-off with an ankle injury. Found space between the lines, played tidy passes and wasn't afraid to shoot, testing Ruddy from 12 yards. Good run-out before being replaced by Rosicky in the 59th minute.

  • Mathieu Flamini

    2.50

    Mathieu Flamini

Protected the defence with tenacity and aggression - the very characteristics that forced him off the pitch after just 37 minutes with a head injury following a full-blooded clash with Tettey.

  • Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud Top of the Match

Another superb display from the striker as he led the Arsenal attack. Wonderful link-up play for Wilshere's goal before providing another assist for Ozil's header. Always a goal threat himself and forced Ruddy into a superb save late on in the first half.

    Tomas Rosicky

Came on for Cazorla in the 59th minute and provided great creativity - highlighted with a great cross in the build-up to Arsenal's fourth goal.

  • Aaron Ramsey

    Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal's man of the moment was left on the bench after picking up a thigh problem with Wales but came on to replace the injured Flamini in the 37th minute - and what an impact. Twice tested Ruddy with powerful long-range strikes before sealing the points seven minutes from time as he left three Norwich defenders on their backsides before firing home. A sensational goal - and he still had time to lay one on a plate for Ozil.

  • Nicklas Bendtner

    Nicklas Bendtner

The much-derided Dane replaced Giroud in the 78th minute and looked fairly sharp, forcing Ruddy into action with a powerful strike from an angle.

  • John Ruddy

    John Ruddy

The Norwich goalkeeper kept the score respectable with several excellent saves to deny Giroud, Ramsey and others. Could do nothing about any of the Arsenal goals.

  • Russell Martin

    10
    2.50

    Russell Martin

A solid enough defensive display from the right-back and often found himself as his side's out-ball in attack. Mishit a volley when well placed 12 yards out in the second-half.

  • S. Bassong

    S. Bassong

The Norwich captain tussled well with Giroud, showed good recovery pace and could hardly be blamed for failing to deal with Arsenal's goals.

  • Michael Turner

    11
    2.00

    Michael Turner

Was strong in the air up against Giroud and made a couple of key interceptions in the second half. But the central defender did look vulnerable when Arsenal stepped up the tempo in the final third.

  • Martin Olsson
    2
    11
    2.50

    Martin Olsson

Arsenal's narrow formation allowed him to attack into space on the counterattack. Produced some dangerous deliveries - including one for Norwich's goal - but could have linked up better when two-on-one.

  • Robert Snodgrass
    3
    10
    1.50

    Robert Snodgrass

Some neat touches but the Scot was cumbersome on the right side and looked exhausted in the second half.

  • Jonny Howson

    8
    3.00

    Jonny Howson

Worked hard in central midfield and showed his quality on the ball in the second half as the visitors stepped up their attacking ambition. Excellent finish for the visitors' goal as he took a touch with his chest before firing home.

  • Leroy Fer
    4
    10
    2.50

    Leroy Fer

The Dutchman looked dangerous with his ability on the ball and rangy stride. Tested Szczesny with one stinging strike from 30 yards but needed more movement in front of him.

  • Anthony Pilkington
    3
    12
    2.00

    Anthony Pilkington

The winger lacked the pace to really cause Arsenal problems and when his chance did come in the second half, his decision making and execution were both poor as he fired wide of the post.

  • Alexander Tettey
    2
    11
    2.50

    Alexander Tettey

Did a good job protecting the defence for most of the game and had to be wary of the interchanging between Arsenal's midfielders. Not particularly inspiring on the ball but fully committed - and took a big blow to the head in a challenge with Flamini.

  • Gary Hooper

    16

Gary Hooper Flop of the Match

The striker struggled to get any change out of the Arsenal defence - and particularly Koscielny - and lacked the pace and mobility to get in behind.

Substitutions

    Wesley Hoolahan

Replaced Tettey in the 70th minute to no effect.

  • Nathan Redmond

    Nathan Redmond

Came on for Pilkington in the 70th minute but was disappointing as he failed to test Arsenal's defence with his pace.
