65′ Negredo

That concludes our live coverage this afternoon. Thanks for joining us for this Premier League fixture, but remember there's plenty more coming this weekend! For now though, have a good afternoon.

And that is indeed FULL-TIME at the Etihad Stadium, and it finishes 2-0 to Man City after a stoic performance from Hull. Plenty for both sides to be happy with but it's Pellegrini's men who take the points.

90′ +3
Late chance as Nastastic flicks the ball towards goal, but McGregor saves and that should be that.

90′ +2
It's a harsh scoreline on Hull, really, who have been absolutely superb today. The hosts have the ball as we enter the final of three minutes' added time.

90′
Goal Yaya Touré
TOURE SCORES!! GAME OVER!! After the referee finally sorts the wall out, Toure swings a beautiful strike over the wall in an almost carbon copy of his strike against Newcastle. Elmohamady darts back to the line from the wall but can only head it against the bar and in, and the hosts have the points.

88′
There's a sudden chance at the other end as Toure picks it up in midfield and plays a pass forward to Nasri, who gets clipped by Chester around 20 yards from goal and City have a free kick.

87′
The visitors are really pressing here. Livermore slides it to Graham in the box but the striker's touch lets him down. It comes out to Elmohamady who hammers in a cross, which Hart meets and punches away from danger.

86′
Another half-chance for Hull as Graham gets ahead of his man to win an early cross and divert a header towards goal, but it doesn't have enough pace on it and Hart saves comfortably.

85′
Hull knock together some quickfire passes and Huddlestone slots a delightful ball through for Boyd, but Kolarov produces an excellent challenge to take it out of his path.

84′
Fernandinho tries his luck from distance, striking across the ball from 30 yards out, but it never looks like going anywherre near the target and Hull have possession again.

83′
Huddlestone fires it into the area but Hart comes out to produce an authoritative punch out of the box and City clear.

82′
Fernandinho gets himself in all sorts of trouble in midfield, giving it to Quinn before hauling the Hull man down, and the visitors can again try and launch it into the box.

80′
Chance for Hull as Elmohamady swings it in from the right and Quinn tries to knock it over Zabaleta before prodding a volley straight at Hart. A couple of handball shouts emanate from behind the goal but it was never going to be given.

79′
Hull have just over 10 minutes to find an equaliser. Boyd receives it from Livermore but can't get the pass back into his team-mate's path, playing it just behind him.

77′
City are keeping the ball well now. The introduction of James Milner suggest Pellegrini wants to tighten things up and slow down Hull's attacks rather than try and extend the lead.

76′
Substitution Sergio Agüero James Milner

75′
Substitution Robert Koren George Boyd

75′
Huddlestone shows some fine strength to win the ball deep in the Man City half and then plays it to substitute George Boyd, who snaps a shot from 25 yard which flies wide of the target.

74′
Nastasic rises highest in the box to meet the set piece, but his header goes straight at the goalkeeper and Hull have the chance to clear.

73′
Yellow Card Curtis Davies

73′
Navas bursts down the right and is taken out by Davies, meaning the defender is the latest to enter the book. City have a free kick in a dangerous area.

72′
There are a few strong challenges flying around here, now. The referee has a word with Zabaleta before both sides exchange free kicks in the middle of the park.

70′
Substitution Sone Aluko Stephen Quinn

70′
And that's the end of Aluko's afternoon as he trudges off to be replaced by Stephen Quinn.

69′
Aluko is on the ground receiving treatment, giving the players the chance to have a breather and a drink. Still 20 minutes left so plenty of time for more drama this afternoon.

67′
Tricky times for Hull, now. Do they chase the game or carry on the way they've been playing so far?

66′
Substitution David Silva Samir Nasri

65′
Assist Pablo Zabaleta

65′
Goal Negredo
NEGREDO SCORES!! MAN CITY LEAD!! The deadlock is finally broken and it's an inspired substitution from Pellegrini as Negredo meets Zabaleta's superb cross from the right to rise high and head it across goal with a similar strike to his goal at Cardiff. Massive relief all around the Etihad Stadium.

63′
Yellow Card Robert Koren

63′
Great chance from the free kick as Lescott is free at the far post and heads it across the six-yard box, but there isn't one Man City shirt there to get on the end of it.

62′
The tension around the ground is palpable as the fans know time is slowly running out. Samir Nasri looks ready to come on, while Koren earns a yellow for a silly challenge on Kolarov.

60′
Yellow Card Matija Nastasic

60′
Nastasic picks up a booking for taking out Aluko with Hull breaking forward, before Koren drives a lovely ball into the box which Graham can't quite reach.

59′
THe hosts have had 62 per cent of possession so far, but really haven't done much with it. It's all been rather lacklustre from Pellegrini's men today.

58′
Navas sends Zabaleta down the right flank with a beautiful chipped ball, but Brady gets back for defensive duties to win the ball and shepherd it back towards McGregor.

56′
An excellent challenge in midfield from Huddlestone wins the ball off Negredo and Hull push forward. City regroup well, though, and force the Tigers backwards.

54′
Negredo has certainly livened things up for Man City. He spreads a lovely first-time ball wide for Silva, who dinks it back towards the run of Navas, but the winger is slightly ahead of it and can only try an acrobatic effort which goes off target.

52′
Hull win another free kick and it comes to Koren, who tries to lift the ball over for Aluko in the area but he overhits it and the ball rolls behind for a goal kick.

51′
Silva goes in hard on Huddlestone and is possibly lucky to stay out of the referee's book. It's launched forward swiftly and Zabaleta's poor header falls for Graham, who takes a touch with his head before firing over from the edge of the box.

49′
Joe Hart lacking confidence? He's hiding it well as he shows some silky skills, producing a fancy stepover to get away from Danny Graham before clearing.

47′
Chance for Negredo! The hosts are monopolising possession early on, here, and Silva floats a fantastic ball over the top which Negredo meets in the air around 10 yards out, but heads it well wide of the goal.

46′
Substitution Edin Dzeko Negredo

46′
Negredo gets his first touch as Man City get the second half underway.

Not long to go until the restart at the Etihad Stadium. It will be interesting to see how Man City start the second half; they're making a change with Alvaro Negredo replacing Edin Dzeko.

Replays at the break show that McGregor pulled up after taking a goal kick. Steve Harper is the only Hull player not warming up, so we'll have to wait and see if this means a change between the posts.

For those of you who are curious, yes, Hull did go into the dressing room at half-time. This is, of course, the venue of then-manager Phil Brown's famous team talk on the pitch after the Tigers conceded four goals in the opening 36 minutes.

STAT ATTACK: According to William Hill, Sergio Aguero scored eight of his 12 Premier League goals in the second half last season. Will he be the man to break the deadlock this afternoon?

That's HALF-TIME at the Etihad Stadium and it's goalless so far. Hull City will be far, far happier with that opening 45 minutes; they defended solidly, broke forward well and but for Aluko's poor miss they'd be in front. Much to chew over for Pellegrini at the break.

45′ +1
Hull win it back in midfield and spread it around nicely. Huddlestone and Livermore are running the show for them so far today.

45′
Kolarov gives it straight to Elmohamady as we enter two minutes of added time, but the hosts regain possession.

44′
There's a hint that McGregor might be struggling somewhat. Substitute goalkeeper Steve Harper is warming up. That would be a shame for the visitors as he's been on blistering form today.

42′
Best chance of the half for City as Yaya Toure is found completely unmarked in the box by Navas, but the midfielder connects badly with the header and the ball loops harmlessly over the bar.

41′
Hull are furious after Zabaleta goes in hard on Aluko but nothing is given and the hosts carry on, before the defender wins a free kick of his own, a few yards from the by line on the right-hand side. Hull clear well after another delivery fails to find a blue shirt.

39′
It's poor, though, from Jesus Navas and fails to clear the first man. Man City really haven't got going in this half.

38′
Chance for the hosts now as Elmohamady and James Chester come together either side of Aguero, and they have a free kick on the corner of the box.

36′
This certainly doesn't look like a team that has 7 points out of a possible 75 from their last 25 Premier League away games.

34′
It's Hull's turn to knock it around in confidence, and it's unlikely candidate Curtis Davies who nearly breaks through the Man City defence, but it just goes too far away from him and the hosts get the ball back. On returning to the defence Davies trips Silva in the centre circle and is fortunate to escape a booking.

32′
There's a hint of frustration among the home fans as Man City produce a lovely passing move, but none of Silva, Fernandinho or Dzeko can get a shot away.

31′
You get the feeling Hull really need to take one of their chances soon, as the game could fall away from them as it goes on.

30′
Silva lofts it towards Dzeko, but he and Aguero can't really get full control of it and Hull clear their lines.

28′
That's lovely, lovely skill from Aguero. THe striker shows some stunning close footwork to dance past two defenders before trying a chipped effort, but it's from a very tight angle and McGregor saves comfortably.

27′
The visitors win a free kick on halfway after Zabaleta concedes a foul for challenging Aluko in the air. It's hard to overstate Hull's performance so far; they've been excellent.

26′
Graham is back on his feet and we're underway once more. There's a scrappy exchange in midfield before Hull eventually pick it up in defence.

25′
Hull produce another fine break forward, with Graham and Aluko linking up well before the former ends up flat on his back after a challenge by Fernandinho. The Tigers man is down receiving treatment but just looks slightly winded.

23′
Yellow Card Fernandinho

23′
And seconds later Fernandinho enters the book for a clumsy slide on Aluko with almost no chance of winning the ball.

22′
Yellow Card Maynor Figueroa

22′
Oof, there's a hefty challenge from Figueroa in midfield which leaves Navas on the floor, earning the defender a booking in the process.

20′
The Tigers win a corner after good work by Aluko. Koren's ball is cleared at the near post though and City have a chance to break.

19′
Hull had some very long odds before the game, but they've looked an excellent prospect so far today.

17′
After that fairly frenetic ten-minute spell things have calmed down again. Looks like we could be in for a real up-and-down match today. City have the ball and are slowly pressing forward.

15′
Brady goes flying after Pablo Zabaleta leaves his leg sticking out and Tom Huddlestone has a chance to fire the ball into the area. Lescott heads away but it comes to Robert Koren who hammers a fizzing volley from the edge of the area which flies just wide of Hart's post.

13′
Another save from McGregor! Man City have a free kick on the left-hand edge of the box after a foul by Ahmen Elmohamady. Hull clear but it comes back in and Lescott's header is tipped over in dramatic fashion by the Tigers shot-stopper.

11′
Goal disallowed for Hull! Things have really livened up now. Man City give the ball away and the visitors break forward beautifully. Brady swings in a brilliant cross and Graham finishes first time into the corner, but the flag is up for offside.

9′
Great save by McGregor! The Hull keeper produces a fine stop to deny Edin Dzeko at the near post and push it behind.

7′
What. A. Chance. Sone Aluko should score as he darts past Joleon Lescott and has a one-on-one with Hart, but scuffs his effort way wide of the post. Massive let-off for City.

6′
The first corner of the game goes to the visitors and, unsurprisingly after Cardiff's goals last week, they put the ball right in the six-yard box, but Hart claims it well.

5′
Great chance for Hull! A long ball from Maynor Figueroa causes some real problems in the Man City defence and Robert Koren gets the ball ahead of Joe Hart, but can't find Graham and City clear.

4′
It's not been the quickest of starts at the Etihad. The sun is out and it's a warm day, so that could affect the pace of the game this afternoon.

2′
The hosts settle straight down into an early bit of possession, spreading it across the back as the players find their way into the game. Curtis Davies has to cut out a long ball with Sergio Aguero chasing hard, but Hull manage to keep the ball.

1′
Hull start proceedings and we're underway.

Pellegrini has had some strong words for Joe Hart amid a bad run of form. Can he keep the clean sheet today? We're moments away from the start.

Five minutes to go until things kick off at the Etihad Stadium. The pitch, complete with interesting pattern, is being well sprinkled and the players march out from the tunnel.

STAT ATTACK: According to Opta, Man City have scored in each of their last 51 Premier League home games; the longest current run of its kind, while hull have won just seven points in their last 25 top-flight away games. Could be a long afternoon, Tigers fans...

So, Matija Nastasic and Aleksandar Kolarov come into the Man City defence, replacing Javi Garcia and Gael Clichy respectively, while Steve Bruce brings Danny Graham into the Hull attack after Yannick Sagbo's red card last weekend.

HULL CITY: McGregor; Figueroa, Chester, Davies, Elmohamady; Huddlestone, Koren, Livermore, Brady, Aluko; Graham. // Subs: Harper. Rosenior, Bruce, McShane, Meyler, Boyd, Quinn

MANCHESTER CITY: Hart; Zabaleta, Nastasic, Lescott, Kolarov; Fernandinho, Toure; Silva, Aguero, Navas; Dzeko. // Subs: Pantilimon, Clichy, Negredo, Milner, Nasri, Garcia, Jovetic.

The team news is in, so let's take a look, starting with the hosts...

Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE coverage of today's early Premier League clash between Manchester City and Hull City at the Etihad Stadium. After a devastating defeat at Cardiff last weekend, Manuel Pellegrini's men face another newly-promoted side in the Tigers, who registered a fine win over Norwich last week.
