    Sandip Nandy

Nandy could have done better on a couple of opportunities, but cannot be entirely blamed, as he was hung out to dry by his defense. Made a couple of vital interceptions, and will be hopeful of getting another call-up soon.

  • Gouramangi Singh

    Gouramangi Singh

As feared, the out-of-form defender carried his lean patch into the international arena. Was weak in the air as well as poor positionally, and was all-over the place, when an opposing attacker ran at him.

  • Denzil Franco

    Denzil Franco

Absolutely taken to the cleaners by Nu’man throughout the game. Did not even affect the game going forward and might have lost a great opportunity to cement the right-back spot.

    Raju Gaikwad

The best of a poor lot, but that is not saying much. Did not make any glaring error for any goal, though he could have cleared the ball in the build-up to the penalty for the third goal.

  • Syed Rahim Nabi

Syed Rahim Nabi Flop of the Match

A game of two halves for the Mohun Bagan player. Scored the second goal for India and in general was a dynamic presence down the left in the first half. But was shocking in the second, giving away a penalty, while the other two goals of the half also came down his wing, with Nu’man robbing him for the fourth. His worst game in a while for the national team.

  • Francis Fernandes

    Francis Fernandes

Came into the game in good form, but failed to show any intent down his wing, giving Jazr a smooth ride. Was invisible for long periods, and it was a surprise for how long he lasted in the game.

  • Mehtab Hossain

    Mehtab Hossain

Similar display to Lenny, though he can claim an assist for Nabi’s goal. Was remarkably timid in the tackle and will not like to remember this performance too fondly.

  • Lenny Rodrigues

    Lenny Rodrigues

Was completely over-run in midfield in the second half after a decent showing in the first. Part of a unit that failed to show-up in the second half.

    Clifford Miranda

Provided good width down the left and scored the opener. Did send in some good crosses but was unable to stop the slide in the second half.

  • Sunil Chhetri

    Sunil Chhetri

The fact that he was subbed while India were chasing the game, summed up his display. Had a decent first half but nothing much to write home about, and failed to marshal his troops, as they capitulated in the second half.

  • Alwyn George

    Alwyn George

Showed potential in the first half, especially while dribbling with the ball and created Miranda’s goal. However he too found the going tough later in the game and was subbed in favour of Jewel Raja.

Replaced Alwyn in the second half and seemed to pop up in good spaces at times. However was not really able to test the keeper.

A lot of headlines featured the Japanese born midfielder in the build-up to the game. However he failed to do justice to any, as he was largely invisible in the middle of the park and failed to make an impact.

    Mohammed Shbair

Did not have much to do apart from picking the ball from his net, twice in the first half. Claimed crosses into his box with ease. Had more to do in the second half, and tipped away Nabi’s effort brilliantly.

  • Mousa Abu Jazar

    Mousa Abu Jazar

Jazar was not always comfortable in possession, but defensively kept Francis Fernandes in check, though he was dragged out of position for the first Indian goal.

    Abdallatif Al Bahdari

Unlucky to see his block on Alwyn’s initial effort fall back to the Pailan Arrows attacker, in the build-up to the first goal. Was a commanding presence through-out the game, before he left the pitch due to injury at the hour mark.

  • Khaled Mahdi

    Khaled Mahdi

The weaker of the two centre-backs, he failed to deal with a darting run by Alwyn George in the build-up to the first goal. Relied on Bahdari’s experience to help him out. Was not convincing once his captain left the fray, but the Indian strike-force was toothless.

  • Raed Fares

    Raed Fares

Did not always close down Clifford Miranda effectively, and was often out-numbered, when Syed Rahim Nabi raided down the wing. Was capable of effective forays upfront himself and added some width to Al-Fursan’s attack, with a good cross for the first equalizer.

  • Khader Youssef

    Khader Youssef

Kept the game ticking in the middle of the park. Always looked to keep hold of possession and was helped by the improved performance of his team-mates in the second half. Screened his defense well in the second half.

    Ma'aly Kawre

Was very poor in the first half and also lost Nabi for the second goal. It was no co-incidence that Palestine’s game improved once he was off the pitch.

    Abdelhamid Abuhabib

Another player who really got into the game in the second half and the Indian midfield failed to deal with him. Notched up an assist at the start of the second half, and in general was economical in possession.

    Hussam saleh

Had a quiet first half overall, but started the second half with a bang, scoring the equalizer and then winning the penalty for the third goal. His movement troubled Nabi in the second-half and he almost added another to his tally, but was thwarted by Nandy.

Ashraf Nu'man Alfawaghra Top of the Match

    – By far the star of the show, he gave Denzil Franco nightmares throughout the game and showed impeccable technique for the first equalizer. Kept his cool to send his side in the lead from the spot and completed his hat-trick by robbing Nabi and then dancing past Gouramangi.

    Eyad Abugharqoud

While the trio behind him came to the party in a big way in the second half, Eyad himself did not set the game on fire. Had a great chance in the second half, with the goal at his mercy, but took too long to shoot, and eventually hit his effort wide.
