  PREVIEW

Warriors FC will host Churchill Brothers at Jalan Besar Stadium on Matchday Four of the AFC Cup. This match comes a week after the I-League leaders trounced the eight-time Singapore champions 3-0 back in India.

The Warriors are facing perhaps the worst start of their season; fourth from the bottom in the S.League, having collected only seven points from a possible 21, their latest defeat came at the hands of the youthful Harimau Muda ‘B’.

Japanese duo Kazuyuki Toda and Shimpei Sakurada are both expected to remain on the sidelines for a week or so. Centre-back Abdil Qaiyyim sustained an injury from their defeat to Harimau Muda and might remain on the treatment table and miss this encounter.

Mislav Karoglan will look to inspire his team with some goals, something he is well-known for. The Croatian has yet to open his accounts in the current AFC Cup campaign and there is no better time to do so.

Domestically, Churchill Brothers are sitting on the top of the I-League table, five points clear of their nearest challenger.

Although Churchill Brothers will be without prolific Brazilian playmaker Roberto da Silva, they have shown that they are able to overcome their opponent as evident in their meeting last week in Goa, with the I-League team coming away with a 3-0 victory.

The team had initially traveled to Singapore without their star striker and India international Sunil Chhetri and Afghanistan international Balal Arezou, on-loan from Norway second tier club Asker, as their visa application was denied by the Singapore Authority.

But those worries were put to rest as both players, along with club owner Churchill Braz Alemao, were granted visas on Monday evening and will travel to the city-state a day before the match.

Gabon international Henri Antchouet, who provided both assists in his team's 2-1 victory over Pune FC over the weekend, will most likely start the match with Steven Dias and Bikramjit Singh playing behind the front trio of Antchouet, Sunil and Arezou.

  TEAM NEWS

Warriors FC: Japanese duo Shimpei Sakurada and Kazuyuki Toda should still be unfit for this match while Abdil Qaiyyim has picked up an injury from their S.League match.

Churchill Brothers SC: Strikers Sunil Chhetri and Balal Arezou were granted visas for their trip to Singapore at the last minute and should be available to feature. Captain, Beto, is still out with a problematic hamstring.
