Liverpool have done a good job in the transfer window this time haven't they? Especially considering that they seem to have tied down Luis Suarez.. But they seem keen to make the top 4 this season as well and that's showing through in their pursuit of Willian..

In fact, they are confident of beating Tottenham to the signing of the Brazilian winger.

The Merseysiders hope to reach an agreement with his club Anzhi Makhachkala in the next 48 hours after lodging a formal bid of €30 million for the in-demand forward.

This is a really interesting one.. Manchester United striker Chicharito rejected the chance to move to Valencia because he wants to triumph at Old Trafford, according to his agent.

Should he have jumped at the chance to be a first-choice striker? Well here's what his agent had to say: "Of course he wants to play more, to have more minutes, to participate more, but he wants to do it at United, he wants to defend the title and go far in the Champions League"

This reminds of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rejecting a move to Tottenham the summer before United won the treble...

So the big news doing the rounds today is that Everton have rejected Manchester United's £28 million double bid for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines. A variety of outlets are running the story including Liverpool Echo, BBC, Sky Sports and ESPN.

Honestly though, £28 million is nowhere close to what should be required to land the duo. Do I hear someone asking, "what are they smoking at Old Trafford"?
