May 29, 2012 was the final deadline for all 16 nations competing at Euro 2012 to submit their 23-man squads for Poland and Ukraine.

Many coaches had some agonising decisions to make, as they had to leave out some top-class players due to technical or physical reasons.

Nations such as Portugal and Republic of Ireland announced their teams relatively early, while others like Italy, France and Croatia waited until minutes and hours before the deadline to submit their final roster.

Unless an injury occurs before a team plays their first match of the tournament, a squad cannot be changed.

"In the event of serious injury to a listed player before his team's first match in the final tournament, the player in question may be substituted only if a doctor from the Uefa Medical Committee and the team doctor concerned both confirm that the injury is sufficiently serious to prevent the player from taking part," states the relevant rule of the competition.

Linked below are the complete 23-man squad lists for all 16 finalists.
