According to reports coming out of Sweden, Turkish-based South African attacker Tokelo Rantie is a wanted man.
The 27-year-old who joined the Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi at the beginning of the 2016/2017 season has since struggled for game time and has fallen out of favour at the club, leading to much speculation regarding his future.
Nonetheless, with Rantie’s contract believed to be coming to an end at the end of the 2017/2018 campaign, reports by Sydsvenskan who reference a story by Sportbladet in Sweden, suggest that Swedish Allsvenskan club IFK Goteborg are keen on roping in the player.
However, it remains to be seen whether or not Goteborg will instead try to bring in the out-of-favour Bafana Bafana international in the January window, or wait until the end of the season in order to sign Rantie as a free agent.
Nevertheless, if Rantie makes his move he will be no stranger to Swedish football, having made a name for himself at Malmo, before going on to earn his big move to English club Bournemouth.
