Rooney and Lingard fan Lucumi dreaming of Man Utd move

Colombian forward Jeison Lucumi is hoping to catch the eye of Manchester United and complete a dream move to Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old is currently with America de Cali in his homeland, who he helped to secure promotion to the top tier last season.

His performances have started to catch the eye of clubs in Europe, with his potential first spotted as part of the Colombia side which finished as runners-up to Argentina at the South American U20 championship in 2015.

Lucumi hopes that his performances will continue to attract attention, with Jose Mourinho the man is most eager to impress as he seeks to one day join the likes of Wayne Rooney and Jesse Lingard in gracing a Premier League stage.

He told AS Colombia: "My dream is to go to play for Manchester United and with God's help I'll achieve it.

“I follow Rooney, I watched him since I was very young, and now I like very much how Lingard plays.”

Rooney: I have a lot to offer

Pressed on whether he could edge another step closer to fulfilling that dream by leaving South America this summer, Lucumi added:"I do not know anything about that. I hope to continue working hard to fulfil one of my dreams and that is to go to play in Europe."

The youngster has netted four times in 13 appearances this season and has now taken in 150 senior outings over the course of his career.
