Mikel Agu has rejoined his former club Vitoria Setubal on loan from Portuguese champions Porto.
The midfielder arrived at the Estadio do Dragao in 2012 teaming up with the club’s under 19 squad and progressed to the Porto B, featuring prominently for the side before he moved to Belgian outfit Club Brugge on loan in 2015.
The 25-year-old made a paltry two appearances for Brugge as they clinched the 2015-16 Belgian Pro League title.
Agu was loaned to Vitoria Setubal in 2016 and was impressive, making 34 appearances across all competitions before he departed for Turkish side Bursaspor on another loan spell and continued his development, featuring in 24 games and scoring thrice.
On Friday, the Estadio do Bonfim outfit announced the signing of the Super Eagles midfielder till the end of the season and he is delighted to make a return to the side.
"I had other options in Portugal and abroad but when my manager told me about Victoria's interest I did not think twice," Agu told club website.
“I already know this city and the club well and it was here that Stefano was born, about a year and eight months ago.
“My passage through Vitoria marked me a lot and for that reason the decision was easy.”
Agu could be involved when Vitoria Setubal test Nacional for size on September 16.
